Glorantha is the mythical world created by Greg Stafford that first made its appearance with White Bear and Red Moon boardgame and later grew to fame as the default setting for the original RuneQuest role-playing game system. The setting has been used for several board games, novels, comics and several different role-playing game systems. The following is a list of products for Glorantha still in regular sale, in electronic or dead tree form. The links point to PDF versions if available, as they are not broken when the dead trees are sold out. Older OOP collectors items have been excluded from this list. Links to fanzines, fan fiction, computer games, board games, merchandice and miniatures have been added at the end.

The Guide, the Atlas & the Sourcebook (system-less)

RuneQuest

RuneQuest Classics

HeroQuest Glorantha

HeroQuest

Hero Wars

13th Age

The Stafford Library (system-less)

Please post it in this thread if you find a Glorantha publication missing from this list!

Sartar Rising 3-Gathering Thunder is not for sale. Not in Chaosium, not anywhere (the first two volumes are in DTRPG).

The whole Vault has disappeared (which contained PDF's of all the Hero Wars and HeroQuest 1 books). Not sure, if this is intentional or if it is a mistake ...

This might have to do with the fact that they are labelled "HeroQuest" and Chaosium no longer has the trademark and/or license for that.

Most of The Missing Lands is a gazetteer-style presentation of the regions outside of Genertela, which would have resulted in another booklet the size of the Genertela Book. The Guide has expanded on that list.

The description of the Sea pantheon goes beyond anything published elsewhere so far, but the extras are genealogical entities or the collective spirits/deities of bodies of water.

Then there is a short fragment of fiction about Waertagi on a hide-out of moored city-ships out in the high seas experiencing a rude Opening, and a weird encounter in what is supposed to be Jrustela. Obviously an older fragment, not quite reflecting the description of Jrustela in the same book. The Pamaltela in-world documents and a few boxed text sections did not make it into the Guide, but I think I saw some of the Pamaltelan stuff elsewhere, too.

All the maps are hand-drawn roughs, even less elaborate than those in Genertela Book.

At the time this was first published, the information in here was rather unique. Only two regions had been published elsewhere, Fonrit in Heroes 2.1 (IIRC), a short-lived (10 issues) house magazine by Avalon Hill, and Umathela in the Australian rpg-magazine Breakout #34.

I don't think the pdf was officially OCRed, just a rough scan of the (equally rough) xeroxed original that was sold at Glorantha conventions around 2000.

Offering the pdf now might feel like a rip-off, as it offers less than complete and in a few cases outdated info for most of the content.

Telling how it is excessive verbis

Weren't the old Hero Quest/Hero Wars PDFs taken off the Chaosium site and moved to DrivethruRPG? They currently lead to a 404 page.

The ones for "HeroQuest" have been removed from sale because Chaosium no longer holds that trademark -- in due course, we're told, they will be rebranded and reissued as "QuestWorlds" titles, but that's not anybody's current priority.

I can't help you with the "Hero Wars" ones. Maybe they are collateral damage?

I checked the HeroQuest section of the site. Looks like Hero Wars and original flavour HeroQuest were moved at the end of May. See Rick’s post here

Seem to be quite a few things missing from the RQ Classics section?

All of the links you posted have check as working. Was there another issue?

On a completely unrelated note:

They work, but they aren’t yet in the master list: Brian was doing you a favour by compiling them.

Removed, together with the other ones I didn't find online anymore.

So the links in the OP need to be adapted accordingly (which is not a small task ...)

Done! 😉

Maybe we should have a section for those that have passed beyond the veil.

With the HeroQuest stuff it has been confirmed by Chaosium that they will be rebadging old books to use the QuestWorld logo so maybe just put a note saying that some old material is temporarily unavailable while that happens? Oh though we don’t know how much will be rebadgered and what formats it will be available in.

It looks like it's going to be a *LONG* "temporary," though; and there is a good chance for substantial reformating of the content when it's re-released as QW content.

  • The books may no longer map 1:1 between HQ titles and QW titles.
  • Maybe not all of them will become available.
  • Likely they won't all come back at once.

I kinda like Simon's suggestion of "what's passed beyond the veil," but honestly... this sort of thing probably belongs on the "Upcoming" list (maintained by @Steve), way down in the section marked "Other items mentioned in the past but not recently (so these might still be coming, or plans might have changed, and even if they're coming they could be way off)"

I managed to pick up copies of Hearts in Glorantha Vol. 1 and Gloranthan Adventures: New Beginnings and have mined both extensively.  I was never big on the HeroQuest stuff (must...have...stat...blocks), but really like the art, especially the stuff by Xavier Llobet (though that one Broo is quite disturbing and unsettling, as is, I guess, appropriate for Broos), and a lot of the adventures are fun.  Just wish I could have picked up a copy of Issue 7 before everything disappeared.
