I was wondering if anyone else has tried running Star Frontiers with BRP or some variant of the d100 system and, if so, if they had any parts of their conversion to share?

I have'nt yet, but it's on my to do list. Star Frontiers is still my favorite sc-fi setting for rpg's, so when I get my hands on "River of Heaven"
ill start my conversion. I had lost my box set years ago so I recently picked up the POD version from LULU.

I ran Crash on Volturnus during the playtest of BRP. I converted the rulebook and the adventure from the PDF and it worked fantastic.

Yup I have all those, the same guy has all of them as POD at LULU as well. I just like to have a physical copy as well.

So threedeesix do you still have the notes for that, and will you share :)

I'm sure I have them backed up on an external some place. I don't want to upload them anywhere as it's pretty much the complete rulebook and adventure simply converted. First let me see if I even still have them and we'll go from there.

I was thinking of taking Legend and twisting it into a Science Fiction game so I can use backgrounds, Common and Advanced skills, etc. I don't know what it is about OpenQuest but I don't like it as much as I like Legend.

Ok, seeing as the complete PDFs of the entire Star Frontiers line are available for free at the web site noted above, I decided to post my playtest files.

As I said earlier, during the playtest of Basic Roleplaying, my group and I converted tons of settings to see how they held up. Star Frontiers was one such setting.

The following files have been uploaded.

A Players Book http://basicroleplay...?do=file&id=539
SF-0 Crash on Volturnus, the first adventure http://basicroleplay...?do=file&id=535
Creatures of Volturnus - A book of converted lifeforms http://basicroleplay...?do=file&id=536
A "partial" GM Screen. http://basicroleplay...?do=file&id=537

Their not perfect, and were never really meant for outside consumption.

Oh, you'll need the original maps to play the adventure. They can be found here http://www.dwdstudio...m/sfdrdownloads along with the rest of the original Star Frontiers stuff in PDF format. The maps are in the Alpha Dawn Digitally Remastered PDF.

Edit: I found the cover I did for the Star Frontiers Player Book and added it.

Thanks Rod, that's very nice of you for sharing your hard work with us and appreciated. A rough draft is perfect for me it saves me a ton of work.

To nerdvana, yeah Open quest isn't for everyone. Fortunately we have a large number of choices for d100 games and I like them all, but I found the simplicity of OQ to be more to my taste. But I understand when people want a little more detail in their games like combat actions and effects and hit locations.
