Michael Hopcroft
Can anything prepare you for the terror of -- Space Broos? Broos are vile. They are nasty. They are so obscene they prove that the Universe is evil because a benevolent deity would not permit them to exist. Now imagine a group of Broos stealing a spaceship and somehow learning how it works. So now Broos can go anywhere and do -- well, do the unspeakable things Broos do. seneschal
Broo vessels would essentially be plague ships, bringing disease to each location they touched down at whether the critters themselves did much raiding or not. Given broo untidiness, ships operated by them would also tend to be maintenance disasters, quickly becoming unreliable and risky to fly. The fiends would have to keep hijacking new ones to stay in space.
NathanIW
In Glorantha, isn't there a broo that is to the wild broos as the wild broos are to the feral broos? I believe he's actually a leader, maybe even literate, not filty or careless and teaches other broos his ways. Ralzarkark? I think there are also intillegent Broo princes in Doraster. Like INT 16 smart guys. A couple of these guys commanding the broo rabble would be far, far scarier than broo that just hijack ships for each journey. dragonewt
Can anything prepare you for the terror of -- Space Broos? Have a look at Reavers from the Firefly series and Serenity movie: Firefly Wiki (here). Wikipedia (here). To quote one of the main characters regarding reavers: "If they take the ship, they'll rape us to death, eat our flesh, and sew our skins into their clothing – and if we're very, very lucky, they'll do it in that order."
