Manual of Monsters II

I've started working on a conversion of AD&D Monster Manual II to be compatibile with Magic World!

This is a slow, arduous project but I'm converting about 10 critters a day, with some neat fan art and some of the old School art as well. Currently on the letter B, alphabetically...

Had a hic-up in the conversions and had to redo some characteristics so I'm behind by a couple days. :(

I'm currently on the Daemons and should start truckin full throttle today. I'm also noticing a lack of fan art for a lot of manual II critters. Guess they aren't as popular as MM1 beasties.

Congrats to the team on the new layout here!

Woohoo! More than half way done!

Forgot how many weird -slash- really weird critters were in this book...

I wonder if some werent including just to pad the numbers...

Anyway I also just got The Magic Book and Enlightened Magic in the mail so I may be pausing conversions for a day or two while i devour these. :)

Looking forward to seeing it! :)  I was considering converting monster manual I , II ,fiend folio. and  Deities and Demigods . Perhaps my gaming ego just wants it all :P

Oh Im with ya! I want them all as well! I'm on the S's and hauling butt. I just hope these make it easier for future chroiclers to run games.

I heard tell there's a monster book in the works for Magic World as well. I would highly recommend getting this when it's released as Im sure it will be miles better than these! :)

These guys have  a way of keeping critters more true to myth and legend than D&D did.

Done with the conversions! *Phew*

I'm rearranging some illustrations, changing some of the art, making the format prettier, and proof reading as I go.

Just a few more days and I'll probably release.

Honestly can't wait to be done with this one. LOL

Alrighty then, all done (I hope).

The file is too large for me to upload to the downloads section but I've sent it to Trifletraxor so Im sure he will upload it soon!

Hope it's useful to you good people!

My own group is very into dungeon crawling right now so I get ya.

There is NO LACK of weird critters in Manual II!

Re-reading all of these descriptions after so many years has inspired a lot of neat ideas for my campaign and possibly a couple new Side-Treks for the Downloads section...

Go for it Chris! I love your work and have already leveraged it in my first Magic World / BRP campaign. On a related note I just purchased the cuthlhu monster book and was a little disappointed with the limited amount of art. Normally I don't care anything about art but with a monster manual you want to see what creatures look like. We will see what comes with the new edition of all the world's monster but I suspect your monster manuals will be my "go to" resource for a long time.

Check out our homebrew rules for freeform magic in BRP ->

No reason for Ars Magica players to have all the fun!

I'm sure my conversions will take a back burner when Chaosium blesses us with the critter book and, honestly, I HOPE so. Some chroniclers just want stat blocks but I would love to see a massive tome of monsters with great art. Thick as a phone book. Hard cover.

But I'm sure I'll be quite happy with whatever they provide. :)

I'm glad you've found use for my conversions though. Wish I had time for Fiend Folio.

Maybe someday.

FYI Trifletraxor has told me some files, including my conversions, are corrupted again.

He will reupload these (and continue to take credit for them :) ) as soon as a new server update takes effect.

I have to agree that this file is definitely very handy to have for all the D&D type creatures you'd want to use. Too bad there isn't a Legend version however as that is the d100 system I use most. But hey, just means I have to do some work myself, which isn't a bad thing! :D
