  1. I've not yet read the whole 7th ed. but I skimmed it for the updated rules. And seriously. this is the first edition i really call a new edition in a long time with regard to CoC - and a vast improvement for my part on the basic BRP engine that I sorely love as the best classic rpg engine out there. Rules are clearer (saying something considering how clear they have been since 5th in my opinion), the few progressive rules updates fits nicely for a bit more narrative control for the players while not changing the classic GM "power" as say Fate (my favourite narrative games system) does to a certain degree. Really looking forward to testing them out - as so far, in term of Cthulhu gaming, Trail have been my champion since it came out, but 7th editon seems like it can give it a run for the money. Hoping the books will not be extreme priced (bought the pdf's on Chaosium and that was very hefty indeed) considering the very high international shipping (feels like way over hundred bucks for both Investigator and keepers book + shipping...
  2. So I have a finalised the skill list, it is a bit long; maybe to long for some, but it is explained in the link: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B9epXTb0Fs7uTmFGeHQ3cVJJc0E/edit?usp=sharing
  3. Originally - this were going to be for FATE and Savage Worlds, but with some internal strife and looking at a lot of playtest documents; I dropped that idea and went for this route. I feel this system will more give the right feeling I am looking for.
  4. BRP is fantastic - it can handle every type of story. With a little tweak you are at demigod level, and leave it be its pure realism (as far as roleplaying games go). Many roleplaying games do certain things better, FATE is much better for the pure narrative game, where players have to think both in game and meta, and GURPS is better at the simulation from its "endless" options that have been nicely researched. But BRP sits erfectly in the middle of every playstyle and its a very easy game, perfect for introduction to roleplaying, as the rules are so simple to follow.
  5. Yeah, different settings have quite different ages types
  6. Sometime today my ass XD This have been a carousel of a ride And here is the intro text, its in Norwegion, but you get to see a few art sketches : https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B9epXTb0Fs7uMTJkWUlGVTJJWGs/edit?usp=sharing It is now set in stone, the game will be based on the Legend OGL after much up and down with systems, beta testing and so forth. And even a couple of days ago, a very talented artist came onboard, so this project suddenly have started to move with faster pace now. Much of the setting blurb above is not totally how the game is anymore, as it have been refined since this thread started. The game will still launch in Norwegian to begin with, and a British friend of mine will do the translation for an English version. And it will be availible as a PDF and POD on drivethru when it is finished (sometime). Quickstart is to be finished in autumn.
  7. I feel like I need to update this thread with new material soon - so better get to it then
  8. To be bloody honest - if you have the BRP book, get adventures or Campaign books. Its almost no job in tweaking it. Is the CoC book nice to have, yes, but thats about it - and if you can bother yourself to do a little bit of research on the setting era in adventure/campaign books (wikipedia and multitude of other sites) it gives you all you need to know. Get the CoC books along the way instead (they are superb books but far from necessary )
  9. Does it port over to RQ6 without any modifications?
  10. But as I do have the Harnmaster Gold players guide, damage is different from RQ6. Any suggestions how to port damage over from the magic system? Same with healing.
  11. Hm, I've only got the Harnmaster Magic from Colombia games, and it don't port over as well. Maybe I should get Harnmaster Gold magic from kelestia.com - it also looks meatier on the setting info around magic, as its 174 pages (100+ pages more then the others). So it could actually work
  12. I have also posted on Lythia's forum, but it is very slow over there when it comes to their other systems section. I am taking my time in preparing a Hârn RQ6 campaign, based in Chelemby (Kelestia.com | The official online home of Hârn and HârnMaster) - and I do anticipate that maybe one player will try to apply to a Shek-Pvar chantry, if they find out about it (keeping every mystical thing in the setting a secret). So I want to be prepared for magic in Hârn, this is my thoughts. Theism - is miracles for the religions - can be used as is. (though putting the right ones in the right temples) Animism - its the druidic/shamanistic religious magic, I would use that as is. Sorcery - this is the baseline Shek-Pvar magic. And by giving the magic trappings (this is related to the element of fire etc etc), and change the runes for the elements - it goes as is. (should one bother by dividing them among elements? Like if it where cults) Folk Magic - This is the stranger one, remove it from common skills, but could it still be used? its easier, and faster magic. But not as strong as Sorcery - do they have a place in the Shek-Pvar? Mysticism - This is the bodily Chi magic in RQ6, does that have any place in the greater Lythia? I don't know, if it does, then it could be used as is. What are your thoughts? For those of you who have knowledge of Hârn.
  13. Check with capris.se/http://www.adlibris.com/se/default.aspx If they don't have it, they may get it if you ask otherwise have you checked Amazon?
