  1. It would be great if pre-orders would start even if the Guide hasnt arriwed in the ware houses. We could still get the pdf when we are waiting for the hard copies.

  2. Ray Turney's Fire and Sword is a very interesting set of rules which can be downloaded from this forum. Among the various clever rules Ray came up with -- he was very interested in cutting bookkeeping during play -- were some herbalism rules for characters like yours (my campaign has one too). Basically such characters are considered to always be gathering this or that (easier away from cities). Fire and Sword has tables to determine which potions can be made. It doesn't have rules for how much these things weigh, but I guess it comes down to encumbrance rules. Most characters have some e

  3. slightly silly addition Name: Carmathaen Fighting Trousers Description: Brightly patterned and coloured baggy silk trousers Cults: Any Knowledge: Carmarthen Nobility History: During the early part of the 2nd age it was the style for Carmarthaen noblemen to fight duels armed with large two handed blades, but without armour. These duels were usually fought bare chested with baggy ornate pantaloons covering the lower half of the body. Baiting the opposition and a battle of words became a formal part of the duel, and over time the words became more important and

  4. so very soon i am starting a custom space game setting for my little group of chaos monkeys to adventure in using the awesome toolset of rules of M-Space by Clarence Redd. I wanted my game to be kind of firefly ish with my own flourish of ingredients added to it. the following is a weapons list i compiled and wanted to get some of your opinions on things to make sure they look functional and are usable and not out of whack when it comes to differences between the weapons. Some of it is from M-Space and some from the free firearms supplement for runequest. as i am very new to myhtras i was hopi

  5. OK. My potential typos detected: Below are possible typos and suggested changes: Page 1 Steve Swensto should be Steve Swenston Page 3 "The Mundane World, where mortal beings exist, is atop the surface of the Earth cube. It is square, approximately 8000 kilometers on each side." Readers are not dumb: they know a cube is made up of squares on each side. Suggest change to: "The Mundane World, where mortal beings exist, is atop the surface of the Earth cube that is approximately 8000 kilometers on each side." Page 3 "To the south, east, and west all lie oceans: the Homeward, K

  6. I don't agree. Take pre-orders when you start the print run. Don't charge for pre-orders until you've got them in-stock. (and, yes, this is very technically possible, if you've picked/designed the right transaction software)

  7. But surely you can still talk about all the same non-Chaosium game lines as before? Nothing has changed on that front at all. As Rick said, we don't fear other gaming efforts or other game companies, nor do we want to drive away "evil competition"TM. Saying Greg and Sandy "gave the company to someone else" isn't a very fair or accurate way of describing what happened earlier this year at Chaosium. For a start, Moon Design Publications bought shares to join Chaosium - the company wasn't given away. And Greg and Sandy are still actively involved, as co-owners, creative consultants and bo

  8. After a talk with the guys from Chaosium we've decided to stick with the unified banner for now for the Chaosium family of games forums, though this may change later. I've let the thirds party publishers have their own banners. I agree about the bar room picture part, it fit better with the old banner we had. I've put up a poll for the vote. I'm for keeping the BRP Central name, but we'll see what the community wants.
