Taken altogether, we seem to have the needed bits...
But, of course, a less-mundanely-driven, more-mythic backstory might also be welcome!

Looks to me there is nothing really defined… I can tell my GM some background story about why my Humakti will take as personal offense mistreatment of river turtles and tortoises. Something in the lines of why Humakt let turtles live longer than any animal.

Argrath ends up giving Arkat the unhealable wound when they meet each other in the nonlinearness of the deep hero plane.

That is actually the real “initiation” of both Arkat and Argrath.

It sounds good... But I still think it'd be a case of "not in my stead". Just like prisons, and rubbish tips. We all agree we need them, but you don't want to have to live near it.

isn't those words ring true to the party halls of the Storm Bulls too ?

A child so infused with the power of the Goddess could feel like adopted, too. Or do you think that Jar-eel bears much similarity to the mother who gave birth to her? Poor thing probably was left a husk when the girl left her womb.

She probably performed a cesarean (c section) from the inside.

Excellent work... this is one of my favorite Myths.

    Correction:

Drive off the Mostali and Jolanti until High King Elf arrives – 2 measure of the Fyrd die (20%)

Not related to the children's song... " the Arkats in the bus goes round and round... round and round... round and round..." i hope.

it means i dont like the spell really...

Like, what benefit does this bring to your game? It seems... out of place? I dont know, im strongly oppinionated and headstrong (but easily swayed)

maybe... and it is a big maybe... some players like the idea of characters with family and sparing the NPC wife of the loss of a children... a complicated pregnancy... the possibility of death during labor... etc...

I realize is not the most common cup of tea for players but I am guessing (again) this was thought on putting some level of realism and community to the spells.

Bottom line... don't like it... don't use it or make it so easy/cheap to use that become irrelevant... YGWV

Love it. Only one could come home at that point. The extended version of this I've seen gets a little more complicated . . .

You meet an Arkat on the road. Let him go. If he doesn't come back, he was a fake. Otherwise, you're out too far and you're both the real Arkat. Only one of you can come back without leaving at least a little something behind.

Wouldn't Arkat meeting Arkat in the same space continuum will create a tear in reality preventing Arkat to come back for Arkat?

(This sounds like a mind twister planned by some illuminated Crimson Bat lover)

Well, there happened to be a certain event, a "battle" where the Conquering Daughter "defeated" the Black Eel.  (Veils drawn across the screen...)

Maybe the history is wrong... maybe is the Conquering Eel who defeated that "daughter"

I am now starting to think that the crater in the middle of Glamour is just a mat of eels with mental powers.

"Eel" means something like "seed" or "fruit" in a procreative way

Jar of seeds... I can believe that.

I wonder if there is an obscure lunar warrior called JarJar-Eel

Did we ever do the most obvious dumb theory about Jar-Eel? That she's really... just... an eel in a jar? Ok so eels are kinda serpentine thingies right? They're obviously draconic in nature. Which means they have powerful dreams. The aforementioned eel in a jar is dreaming of living life out there as Xena Warrior Princess (maybe her jar is sitting on the table near a TV set in the 90s). That's such a powerful dream (I myself had very powerful dreams about Lucy Lawless in my youth) that it becomes reality, just like Dream Dragons. So... there you have it. If you go to the Red Emperor's kitchen and knock over the jar, you can turn around the whole Hero Wars.

as stated before... she is basically 3 ducks one on top of the other inside of a loose armor...

I just wonder what is the fixation of the lunars with eels... eels aparently are important for the empire since a lot of the personalities are eels... a little fishy if you ask me...

Or just use Influence and add SIZ as bonus

a good idea in principle... but I know people of small stature (size) that had a threatening presence and some other large guys that are close to Hello Kitty and even with the large size it would be comical to see them trying to threat someone.

Influence, augmented by an appropriate Passion for Maran Gor, versus Willpower in an Opposed Roll.

Reading the topic  about slow spell I have now this question in mind

as glorantha is not spheric, the irl gravity law cannot apply

so how can we explain people fall ? What force and or myth defines that if you are in middle air you should quickly learn Fly spell if you want to survive ?

Not Gravity as we understand it... is the heavens pushing everyone down, you know... keeping everyone in its place.

  14. How the mechanics of intimidation work for a character such as a Maran Gor ? There is no specific skill (standard or professional) that covers intimidation, so the alternatives (other than role the act of intimidating by the player and assign an opposing throw of willpower) are a combined use of insight + either influence or deception. I believe this process should be straight forward become an exercise in crunching numbers and throw dices.

Any suggestions, or can anybody point me to the right place in the rules on how to handle this situation by a PC or NPC?

As a rule, print on demand is only available after a book has sold 250+ digital copies on DriveThruRPG. If you want The Company of the Dragon to come out in print any faster, the most helpful thing you can do is buy the PDF version now.

@Nick Brooke in terms of a bestseller (silver, gold, etc...), what is the equivalent to reaching the needed 250+ (I may need to threaten friends, colleagues, and family to the galleys to buy the book... so it can get to print status sooner)

Thank you for the kind words. In the 80s and early 90s I didn't collect much beyond RuneQuest, but my want list was getting rather slim and my collecting itch had to be scratched. Thus, I started picking up other Chaosium related items for Call of Cthulhu, Stormbringer, and the rest. If a batch lot or stack of Chaosium stuff was going for the cheap I'd just buy the lot. I also had the good fortune and immense pleasure of being the game auctioneer at Convulsion, Continuum, Tentacles and Eternal Con maybe 30 times in total. Those auctions were all Chaosium focused. For a while I was really into getting all of the Chaosium boxed games, and when I got most of those I would pick a different collecting challenge. In the early 2000s, when Chaosium was cash strapped I made a deal with them. I would send them cases of the Gloranthan Classic books to sell on their website, and they would reciprocate by paying me with their products. We basically swapped product. In the warehouse they had a box labelled "one of everything for Rick" and they would place one of each new publication in it as they came out. When the box had a decent number of items in it they would mail those to me. That went on for probably a decade. I also let them know that if they had spare copies of older stuff, feel free to add those into the box too. I got a lot of Chaosium material that way. Forty years of doing things like that, and you get shelves like this:
