  1. I don't miss the RQ3 fatigue bookkeeping, but I do miss fatigue as a concept from combat. I like the way this is done in Mythras.
  2. Seconded. I understand that this will be way down the list of things to do, but if the links could be fixed it would make this excellent Glorantha resource more accessible. I have linked to new players as well, only to find that they are unable to read it (and whilst the workaround above works, new players are not likely to persist).
  3. It would, and it would go well with Dario's other work on there.
  4. Got the PDF for the spells. Got the hardcover for the art. Somehow those amazing pictures just look better in print.
  5. I like this. It would take up more screen space but will give more functionality. Are you thinking 100% custom only, or will you still be able to add from the sheet for a specific weapon on set SR (as you can now)?
  6. Yes, I agree. Multiple actions in a round is a pain, and the one you've given (archers) is the best example of this. Modifying strike ranks is easy enough, even though it is manual.
  7. What is the problem you're having with the turn order in Roll 20. It's not perfect, but I find that it works well enough for me.
  8. Apologies for the necro here, but are there still plans to make the Sartar Companion available as POD via Lulu? Sartar Kingdom of Heroes was also available as POD until recently, but I can no longer find it on the site. Here is the Lulu page for Moon Design: Lulu I'd also be interested to know if there are any plans to make The Missing Lands available as PDF or POD.
  9. That's the beauty of the Heroquest rules - there really aren't that many of them! The book is 250 pages of mainly background. There isn't really any exclusive content in here, but personally I found the presentation of the information both useful and enlightening and the information is presented in a different way from other books. For example, there are some sample play sessions featuring Samastina and Cragspider, and I loved these more for flavour than for giving an example of the rules. The Heroquest Glorantha book is actually one of my favourite Gloranthan books, from a purely physical perspective (it just feels great, and the binding is top quality - I realise how nerdy this sounds!) and aesthetic perspective (the layout is top draw and the art is subtle yet high quality). Is it worth getting for what you want? I really can't answer that, but I love it.
  10. I don't know where you're based OP, but the Heroquest Glorantha book is actually a really good overview source IMO - underrated in fact. It's also one of the best looking books, again IMO. It's also on sale if you're in the UK, EU or Aus. HeroQuest Glorantha - Hardcover - Chaosium Inc.
  11. This is fantastic news. The order of works is a surprise, but it's all good. Very much looking forward to these.
  12. I can't wait either, but I better wait to read it or Trotsky will do terrible things to my PC.
  13. I played in a session at PAX earlier this year which was run on Foundry. The GM, a top bloke called Manuel Molinier, was using Foundry and I believe he said he had built the integration himself. It worked very nicely. There were a few bugs, but it was still a work in progress and I was very impressed.
  14. Welcome @Losky. You may have already seen these, but there are player versions of the maps for the Broken Tower available here. These remove most of the locations which will enable/force your players to explore. Also if you're not already, make sure you use the character sheet for Runequest available within Roll 20 - it's excellent. Have fun.
  15. I thought it went very well Simon, in fact it was excellent. And your advice here is clearly ridiculous. If you don't lick them how do you know what they taste like? Thanks for running the game.
  16. I'm signed up for Trouble at Days Rest tomorrow which I'm very much looking forward to. https://warhorn.net/events/chaosium-online-gaming-at-pax-online/schedule/sessions/e6fd0488-2b12-4942-9948-5fbe4e92a01e Does anyone know which virtual table top system will be used?
  17. My question is would it be considered likely or even possible that an assistant shaman also becomes an initiate of a major Orlanthi cult, such as Orlanth himself? Or are they limited to lay membership? I'm aware that Kolat is considered the Orlanthi shaman tradition cult, but we don't have an RQG writeup for him yet.
  18. So it is. I had completely missed that. I saw the Borderlands & Beyond was in the US so probably just assumed the Cults book was as well. Thanks very much - copy purchased.
  19. You're right, of course, but I feel this is my weakness! Sellers on Amazon inflate to ridiculous levels in my experience. eBay is a better option but there are still slim pickings. Abe Books seems a good place to keep an eye on. Any other locations people are willing to share? (I realise that more experienced collectors are likely to want to guard their resources closely)
  20. Probably not by much. Agree - probably not by much. But I'm interested in what would differ. Heortland is the old country, and the Orlanthi who migrated to what would become Sartar were doing so for reasons of cultural and religious differences and freedoms. Not much will have changed in just 300 years, and Sartar is still reasonably close to Heortland, but I expect there are many subtle differences which to an outsider would seem very small, but to the people in question will seem significant, almost strange.
  21. I would dearly love to be able to get some of the Hero Wars and Hero Quest material, but finding it is a challenge. I did manage to find a battered copy of Glorantha: Introduction to the Hero Wars on eBay, but despite regularly looking I have yet to see any other material.
  22. Cheers all. As a returning player the new system for rune(divine) magic is a significant change, but a refreshing one. The move from holy hand grenade to divine arsenal (or close) is most welcome.
  23. I'm catching up with as much RuneQuest material as I can cram into my non-working waking hours, having been away for so long, and I came across an episode of The Grognard Files where MOB enthusiastically talked about the new edition. It's in episode 22. Around 9 minutes into the episode MOB talks about the changes to Rune magic and explains how in the new edition (RQ:G) initiates don't have to sacrifice for specific spells, they just gain rune points with that deity and gain access to all of the spells for that cult (plus the common rune spells). This is actually the system David Cheng was arguing for in Tales.. 12, and Nick Brooke proposed a revision to one-use rune magic which also seems to have been pretty much adopted in the new rules. Apologies if this has already been discussed, but I'm very interested to see how we've gone from RQ3 through to RQG via the contributors to Tales, but it seems that at the last minute someone decided to pull back from the brink and revert to sacrificing for specific spells. I may have simply misunderstood both the rules and the historical evolution of the system, but I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts.
