  1. The context is some overthinking I am doing. So, the magic available in the Big Gold Book doesn't have the utilitarian magic I have in mind for the setting at the other end of the link. I've ordered the magic book, which to my surprise an Amazon supplier had. I have Chaosium library, so I can also pick and choose from RQ2, Magic World, and Elf Quest (the plant and animal-shaping magic in particular). Any obvious games I should be nicking spells from.
  2. One of my projects on James Nicoll Reviews is "works I encountered as a teenager." Sometimes this covers the earliest rpgs and rpg-related projects I encountered. Unfortunately, the games I have in hand don't always specify the month a game was published, which matters for material published in 1981 because I stopped been a teenager in March 1981. Accordingly, would anyone know when exactly Cults of Terror and Griffin Mountain were released? Come to think of it, wasn't Stormbringer (not RQ but still Chaosium) also a 1981 product?
