  1. I thought the same, using the Celtic pantheon for pagans and saints for Christians. If I can finish it I will gladly share it in here.
  2. My players are more interested in Charlemagne, than they are in Arthurian lore. This is why I'm trying Paladin. I like it so far it it gives a realistic Western Medieval feeling with the church and patron saints. Anyway my question is about manor and land of players. Unlike Pendragon (where we roll for manors in Salisbury) there is none in Paladin. Or I couldn't see the same. It says that our players' current home is of their liege lord. On the other hand if they roll 1/d20 their father becomes lord, but still no further rolls about manors. On Winter Phase section it says "IF the knights have land" so unlike Pendragon, they might be landless knights? I really didn't get phases part either. It seems like the past rolls of where you learn the story of your (grand)father but again in some inventory rolls it states that use that armour in phase 1 etc. So it also seems like grand campaign of Pendragon. I'm really at lost in Paladin. Also does anyone know some cheat sheets for Paladin?
  3. I really like the passion mechanics, however there is something I can't fit in my roleplay. E.g. when one of my players fumbles in love (wife) or hate (Saxons) he instantly becomes mad; throws his armor and rips his clothes etc. In roleplay this doesn't really fit the scene or I can't make it so. Imagine a knight who couldn't get inspiration from his hate towards Saxons, flies into rage, throwing his armor and leaveing the scene (or maybe he harms his fellows) without attacking the enemy. It seems to me there are some instances that madness or melancholy wouldn't work. What would be your advice in that regard?
  4. I'm using 5.2 edition, on page 92 it says that "the disheartened player suffers a –5 modifier on all further rolls made during the situation that brought on his state." Does this also include further passion and trait rolls?
  5. Shouldn't Scots be in the game as well, according to the timeline of the story? I'm using 5.2 and nowhere in the books or in the supplements I can find Scots.
  6. Currently I'm trying to play King of Dragon Pass. I say "trying" because of the compatibility issues in Steam. About @KleiosCanvas I didn't know that the artworks I've already enjoyed when I first got interested in RQ belong to her. Besides I've just learned she is from Turkey too. 😄
  7. Thank you very much for the effort you put to your reply. I felt like I was in a middle of a scholarly debate and that was great. This is why I chose to sign up to this forum, for when I compare it to other rpg forums I find this forum's member are highly sophisticated and kind. Glad to be here.
  8. Hi everyone I've just signed up and this is my first post. I hope I'm not creating this topic in the wrong place. We are a new player group for RQ. We are using the latest edition. We played DnD, Pathfinder, but we are new to RQ and Glorantha. There is no problem with the system. However, we are having some difficulties regarding the nations of Glorantha. Generally when I depict them to my players I tell them about the real world influences and similarities. So that they can visualize the game in their minds. You know like the Cimmerians in Conan are like Ancient Celts. All of my players have an education background in Classics, archaeology or Ancient History. In fact -besides its system- this is why we chose this setting for it sets in Late Bronze Age-Iron Age or in ancient age in general. Therefore, it helps greatly to compare these nations with the historical influences to help them imagine (or live even in their minds) the world and the game. However, in Glorantha I can't understand who is who or how to depict them to my players. For example, Orlanthi looks like a mix of Celtic, Germanic-Norse and (even Etruscan?) tribes. At first I thought the Lunar Empire is something like Rome, but later with its satrapies I thought it is more like the Empire of Alexander the Great and the states of his Diadochi (esp. Seleucians). So, I am waiting for your advices how I might depict these nations to my players with
