  1. Honestly, the simplicity of that character sheet is the thing that’s making me almost buy this. And the pretty foliage around Greg Stafford’s name. I’m starting to recall why I liked Pendragon all those years ago. The beautiful folklore, subtle ethereal magic, yearning, sadness, beauty. So different from Glorantha which is almost pungent with magic and trippy. Hmm, I think I’ll get this after I recover from buying my massive fridge!

  2. “Cults”

    I like it.
Back in the day “Cults” of Prax caused a bit of a (glorious) hoo-ha.
    Own it, I say.
The word is  part of the Runequest heritage and there’s something about it that is so much more exciting and gutsy than “Religions of Runequest” or “Gods of Runequest”.

    It gets my attention.

  3. These look amazing. I like this approach of lots of books for the different groups of cults. This is more likely to attract newcomers too.

looking forward to the mythology book.

Runequest is going to feel much more Runequesty with these!

What a beautiful collection this will be.

  4. I reckon the cults book should have been the number one priority. RQG feels like only half a game to me atm. The cults are essential to play it properly. I suspect that Chaosium do see it as the priority but other projects are just coming to completion more quickly. I have no doubt it’s going to be big and beautiful when it’s done.

Once you are going to rewrite history so that no one can feel unwelcome based on their identity, why stop at women? What about people of other races or sexual orientations who can feel displaced by the sexist, racist and homophobic society of that time shown in the game? Including women is right, but not African Americans? It seems odd.

    What are the criteria?

I mean, women existed in Britain at the time. African American’s (and, in the wider world, America) didn’t.

If a “dude” rocks up from 6th century Africa I’m pretty sure everyone around here would give him/her/them the thumbs up for a knighthood into the round table. And if one of the artists were ever to portray that I think it’d be fully appreciated by this community. You are making issues out of thin air.

Sorry to hear that. Recent decision, or old one, if I could ask?

Oh it’s been many years since I played Pendragon. I had the first edition with the beautiful cover painting (and a few later editions). The game is a thing of total beauty. A work of art. These days I’m just running games for my daughters and their friends and they are more into Glorantha. I find the Pendragon news more interesting than Runequest news - but Runequest is the game I’ll be using.
