I had totally forgotten about Chaotic Melds (probably because they never struck me as that usable in play...1d8 rounds to prepare a spell that might only last a few rounds as well). However, it has some interesting ideas. Thanks for reminding me. If you put in some sort of method of attuning to melds (so they could be cast freely) AND kept the summoning melds you would end up with a nice Ars Magica divide of Rotes and Spontaneous Magic. Maybe you could learn a Meld by sacrificing a POW, probably make the spells not instant but instead take 1 SR per MP. Also have to standardise the duration somehow.
There's the additional issue of players deciding how the melds will work together. If you use it, I would suggest sitting down with the players and going over what's possible. I also like how Chaos points add to you MP total.
That being said, go read Gods of Law if you haven't yet. Awesome stuff.

Is that the third party Corum or was there one from Mongoose?
The Corum stuff was from an Australian company called Darcsyde. Well worth looking into. The Virtue stuff is from our own esteemed Charles Green.

Download Gods of Law and check out the Virtues system. Much different than Stormbringer.
Also Corum: Chaotic Melds, Contrivances, Fetishes, Elemental Tattoos.

All right brother! Put me down for a copy!
Looking forward to seeing what you're doing with Alchemy.

One huge reason to have the Elric! book in addition to the Magic World book is the Elric! Digest. The write ups of major NPCs as well as some more typical examples of various professionals is invaluable to a GM in my humble opinion. Nothing really exists like that for Magic World.

Hi Nikoli, I'm not sure if I actually uploaded it as a pdf. It so happens that I am messing around with Ravenloft files right now. When I get a chance I'll put something in the downloads.

There was also the Hawkmoon monograph from Chaosium.

That's true.

By the way, I meant to say thank you. I will post some pictures when we play! Looks fantastic.

I've been sitting on this for a while. Stafford created the outline to bring my own imaginary worlds to the table. Without his guidance my table would be far less interesting. In short he is, and will continue to be, an inspiration to those who bring their friends together and make up stories. Greg Stafford's legacy is that he brings people together.
My love goes out to his family and friends.

Remember the Big Book of Monsters. A lot has already been done.

No horse-riding buffalo hunters, though.
How about buffalo riding hunters?
My interest would be much more in the spiritual, ancestral world. Something like Ehdrigohr but more grounded.

I really like this. And the best thing is, Magic World's rules could simply be reinterpreted, without any mechanics changes, to make this happen.
Check out Gods of Law and the Virtues system there. It goes a long way towards something like this.

I'm an Elric!/Magic World guy myself.
For the BGB (going by memory, so forgive if I label these wrong) I would suggest taking Magic and Psychic powers. If you're doing really low magic I would just stick with the Psychic powers and maybe add in some small Mutations.
I think your big decision is whether to go with hit locations or random armor. I prefer one hit point score and random armor but it's really just a preference. Hit locations work fine too.

Since this has been resurrected, what about Pages. I use it for most of my pdf layouts.

Yes. I want it if no-one else has called dibs.

Gas is an issue, but I’ve got my double barrel shot gun in my left hand. Shop smart, S-Mart.

It's just that I am not interested in any system that does not let me attach a chainsaw to my handless arm.

How did you not include Army of Darkness in this list of Unisystem rpgs?

We used to call these 'doorstop demons.' Little ten pound mounds of flesh that could be used to keep a door open or as a paper weight. Got that summoning skill up pretty high.
As for the Elemental Lords, I'd tie it to tasks that the elemental lords might care about, either promoting that element or tearing down an opposing element.
