  3. THe Lewis gun is an american light machine gun developed in 1911 The British Army in 1895 would have been equipped with Maxim guns. The maxim being belt fed would be better in a fixed position and would have been the weapon of choice having been tested under fire in the matabele war 93-94 when fifty men and four maxim guns held of 5000 warriors. If you are using more advanced prototypes then the vickers machine gun would be used with the Lewis gun as a light support weapon for infantry. The Martini Henry mentioned was replaced by the 303 Lee Metford in 1888 which was replaced by the lee enfield in 1895 That should be the rifle of choice in 1895
