  1. Ah, sorry about that questbird. There are indeed many parameters in the code. I suppose it's PC only then.
  2. There ARE quite a few individual races in hyboria, so I understand your hesitation. However, I can't imagine one world being harder to campaign than another. Hyboria is pretty fitting for Magic Worlds Magic system as well. Much more so than say, Forgotten Realms. I do with there was more Information on the Southern Reaches. If for No other reason, to help design modules.
  3. Thanks for the heads up Questbird! Link fixed. https://www.dropbox.com/s/v66qvx6ewd7u55q/BRP%20NPCs.ipt
  4. I've got the Astrologers done and am 1/2 way through the Bandits. Having some fun using my NPC generator as it's coming up with some neat variations! I'm pretty happy how the pictures are turning out as well.
  5. Next project... With the completion of my MW NPC generator it seems like a logical step to move on to an idea I've been toying with for awhile. A book of NPCs so chroniclers can easily reference that shady looking dwarf in the shadows of the tavern corner, that elven astrologer who claims the planets are aligning for a bad omen, the halfling that just sold you bad information ,the barmaid that just fluttered her eye lashes in your direction, the shaman who agrees to heal your wounds in exchange for some nobles horse, the snooty noble that stole a poor shamans horse, the street entertainer that enthralled you with beautiful singing, the thief that picked your pocket while you focused on some dandies song. On and on.... The book, as I imagine it now, will hold 2 males and 2 females of each race (elf, human, half orc, halfling) for each occupation listed in MW and Mage from Advanced Sorcery. 400 combinations with iindividual characteristics, skills, and equipment. These will all be of "normal" power, like starting characters. Not heroes or super villains. But of course it's easy enough for the chronicler to add 20 or 50 percent to skills, as needed. I'll include a 3D representation of each NPC using NWN2 toolset which will look similar to this: Granted, this is a big project and will of course be distributed free of charge, but I'd really like to know if anyone is really even interested in using such material, and if so, have any recommendations on what they'd like to see.
  6. There's an android app for NBOS as well...but..I suppose you are also too cool not to have an iPhone as Well. :)
  7. Aren't there a number of Windows emulators for inferior Mac products? *DUCKING*
  8. AND.....DONE ( I hope!) This is an NPC generator for use with the BRP fantasy setting Magic World. The generator will prompt you for the NPCs Species and Occupation and generate 1,5,10,25,50, or 100 NPCs with individual random characteristics, skills, weapons, armor, bronze pieces, equipment, and other treasure, to chose from. These NPCs are set to be "normal" power but you can modify them by adding 10%,20%, whatever, to match desired power level. I use them for everyday people a character may run into, not heroes or super vilians. You will also need the small,FREE, NBOS program "Inspiration Pad" to use this table which can be found here: http://www.nbos.com/products/ipad/ipad.htm (I know it says Ipad but there's a windows and even android link.) Download the .ipt file from here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v66qvx6ewd7u55q/BRP%20NPCs.ipt and place it in your C:\Users\Documents\Inspiration Pad Pro\Generators\Encounters directory (or wherever you install NBOS)
  9. Okay. Almost done (again) I've just got to code a randomizer for armor based on occupation and I be done! Maybe tomorrow!
  10. I have a book with most of the Ad&D monster manual converted to Magic World here if it helps: Hyboria is a great place to adventure! The Conan RPG has a lot of useful info for a campaign as well.
  11. Wrestle Skill p. 46&47: Strangle the target. Subdued, the target asphyxiates according to the Drowning rules.
  12. Would LOVE to see someone convert some old-school modules to Magic World (so I don't have to) . I don't think you'll find a lot of material to fill your need. Not that I've seen, anyway. So if you design a custom adventure and it is well received by your players be sure to upload it!
  13. Had a hick-up with some of the code. (Frigging JavaScript can be so picky!) So I'm a little behind projected finish date. But I've got spells done for sorcerers and a % chance of non-sorcerers who have a 16+ POW of knowing spells. I'm working on random equipment for inventory based somewhat on occupation. As soon as I'm happy with that I'll be done, I think. Couple days at the most...
  14. I don't see any rule regarding PCs changing occupation... but, perhaps You're right and I should let it go as is...trusting that the authors have our best interests in mind. Honestly few PCs last to heroic epic levels in my campaigns anyway. Not because I'm a sadistic Chronicler, but because of BAD decisions. "There's a skeletal corpse on the ground pointing toward a gateway of magic green mist? Cool! My knight runs through it!"
  15. Agreed with Mankcam. Genious idea. I think I might house rule that only Occupation Skills can have Aretes. That allows wiggle room for flavor and diversity in characters but is more restrictive towards specialization.
  16. I would definitely add a power cost, Especially if allowing multiple levels. Unless it's a superhero type game, there need to be a gain/loss ratio IMO. One problem with using "perks"is that you don't necessarily have to pick one skill at the sacrifice of another. A character can practice and raise ALL their skills to Arete levels. I think this diminishes the "reality" of the game as No one should be masters of everything.
  17. I'm already about half way complete. Helps that I already have a lot of the databases from my PC Gen and Treasure Gen programs.
  18. So my next project is a simple NPC generator, using the NBOS program Inspiration Pad. You will be able to chose the race(human, elf, dwarf, halfling, half-orc ), then their occupation. The generator will then generate a random name based on race and gender, roll proper dice for characteristics, apply skill scores based on normal experience level, pick weapon skills based loosely on occupation, and fill in equipment. With the click of two buttons you'll have up to 100 NPCs generated of the specified race and occupation to chose from.

A small adventure designed to be a stopping point along the road to greatness. Will the PCs escort Thomas to his birthright, join with those who would steal it, and take it for themselves? 42 pages of maps and images made with NWN2 Toolset. A handfull of NPCs and Monsters for your PCs RPing pleasure.
  20. Don't forget that if you have a free or paid PDF writer installed you can print off PDF versions of the character sheet, choosing which pages to print. (Leaving out the guide and worksheet ,and Magic or Companion sheets if desired. ) You can also use the sheet designer to "edit installed sheet " to get rid of the background pics if you want a less printer ink hogging sheet.
  21. Yep. That about does it. All done (I hope) https://www.dropbox.com/s/kh983za685934j4/New%20Magic%20World%20Sheet.csd it's also in the downloads section. I had to drop the Shop/Store section as it was a resource hog. Hope you Enjoy! You will also need to download the FREE small NBOS Character sheet designer to open and or edit the sheet, found here: http://www.nbos.com/products/charsheet/charsheet.htm you may need the .txt files here for editing:http://basicroleplaying.org/files/file/459-magic-world-character-generator/ A
  22. Hide in Plain Sight. Did I omit that one? LOL. I know I wrestled with adding that feat but may have dropped it. The more powerful combat feats tend to have a prerequisite feat that is less good, so yeah. They are strong but at a cost. Glad you like it and as with any of my submissions, feel free to make it better!
  23. The BRP curse. Rules so simple, it's simple to over think them.
