i'm more of a writhe than a player, but I'm thinking of getting back into gaming. i did play some D&D when i was a LOT younger. (more than 1/2 my life.) I have WRITTEN some things (unpublished) in both the fantasy and sci fi realms. so I'm looking to sharpen my teeth and skills, in order to 1 play better when i do take the leap 2 create a better world.

  1. Hi! scribe here. i looked at the thread, saw "witch" and "sensitive" as well, both good terms, but i just have to ask - why can't you just create your own names and powers. (Although I have a bone to pick with the "Powers" - maturity brings more and greater power, think of Gandalf and Merlin, older thandirt, and extremely powerful. but that's jsut me.) Good luck.
  2. Hmm. this sounds interesting. I've been working on a sci-fi (story/?series?) off & on for about a year. Wife loves the old TV series Little House & Walton's Mt. (for two.) After the elventieth time I'm tired of it, but thought that colonizing a planet (complete with both friendly & not - so -friendly aliens for neighbors) might make a good story line. So maybe it might be a good place to game. Trouble is there are so many threads, themes and things to put in! {Yeah i know it's "my world" but I still like to keep it together. And the ideas just keep flowing! So - Go You!
  3. i don't see why not. Artistic talent (of which I have very little but am trying to broaden) is as valuable as writing talent.(which I'm using every day in one form or another.) People have books on the shelves (guilty) and art on the walls. while i can't really see a wife, or roommate vouching for a drawing of a 'Monster" on the living room, a catalog would be a nice place to start. Perhaps with some "Wanted preferably dead" posters of some really bad ones. (though I have reservations about that. Picture a mama monster telling her little ones "you keep that up and the Knights will get you!") [ Just the ones from River Bend City talking more about that later ] A monster catalog? good idea. you'd need a detailed description of it, habits, likes, dislikes, range age, size. beside the usual pictures.
