  1. I house ruled 1 MP = +1%. I could go the easy route, say it's automatic, and forget about it. But I like the players worrying about spending RP and the tension of the worship rolls when they know they can fail and go on the next adventure without rune magic.
  2. In my campaign the origin story of a Varmandi Babeester Gor initiate is that she was exiled from her clan because she killed her sister, but she doesn't remember the particulars, her memories are blocked somehow. This is generating a very interesting character arc about guilt and vengeance.
  3. Well, we have runes linked to personality traits, passions, and family history as part of the character creation process. I think those help in fleshing out a character better than the characteristic numbers. They can be a source of inspiration too, of course.
  4. Without the 3 RP. Just points from characteristics. So some characters in the Starter Set get to 105-106 points when you include RP. EDIT: Sorry, I thought you were talking about actual RP, the bonus from runes are included in the characteristics I listed.
  5. Looking at the pregen characters in the Starter Set, the sum of their characteristics ranges from 93 to 103. This is the whole data set: 98 101 98 103 99 101 102 98 102 99 95 93 99 93 The mean of the first 10 characters is 100.1, only drops to 98.6 when taking the last 4 into account. I look at them as their intended level for new characters so I give my players 100 points to distribute as they want to.
  6. I don't know if this is uncommon, I keep the bonus separate from the skills. If the bonus changes, I only change the bonus, not every skill. The players have to add the bonus every time they roll though.
  7. I houseruled that sacrificing PM gives +1% each instead of +10%. There are enough bonuses already. I houseruled experience gains to be a bit more generous, though. I try to find a balance that works for us.
  8. I'm sure copying this into my ruleset ๐Ÿ™‚
  9. I had a burst of laughter reading the form! Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚
  10. That's a lot of food for thought ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you very much!
  11. I'm curious about how people manage taxes in their campaigns. Initiates are supposed to pay 10% of their income to their temple. What's "income"? Their basic professional or household income and anything made on the side as well, like loot from adventures? How do you manage this? Do you take this into account? Does it affect PC in any way? What other taxes exist in Orlanthi society, do clans, tribes and/or cities collect taxes in any way? If so how and how much?
  12. This is a neat idea! ๐Ÿ™‚
  13. I did some comparisons with distances with other maps and I got an approximate scale of about 1.6 - 1.7 km/cm But I don't think it's really at any scale, some things are different than in other maps.
