  1. Hi Paul, just finished running The Funhouse Bodies and we all had a great time. Luckily I rolled poorly on behalf of the big bad, else my investigators would’ve been toast!
  2. We only play fortnightly and real life has intruded a bit recently, so we didn’t finish Speed Demons by Halloween, but Funhouse Bodies is still on the list!
  3. If we’ve finished Speed Demons by Halloween, I was planning on running The Funhouse Bodies (https://pauljfisher.com/rpg-casefiles/the-funhouse-mummy/) by Paul Fisher, but set in a Ghost Train ride, rather than a fun house.
  4. Awesome! Great to hear it’s going well and I hope the players enjoy it 🙂
  5. Take some inspiration from the various CSI TV shows - they’re in the thick of the action all the time! Also think of ways that the characters’ scientific skills, education and intelligence can be used in non-forensic situations (even if it’s just plain old researching).
  6. I’m really glad you enjoyed it and I hope you like my other offerings too!
  7. Thanks! I’m mulling over an idea for my next case file…
  8. I’ve been trawling the net for more RoL:RPG case files and have found these two, written by Paul Fisher, on Reddit. They’re very good! The Funhouse Bodies https://www.pauljfisher.com/the-funhouse-bodies Stolen Heritage https://www.pauljfisher.com/games/
  9. Yeah, I take your point about not having the spells on the player side. Maybe a mix of cool artwork and text boxes with the 4 E's and such interspersed, just to provide inspiration to the players if they get stuck.
  10. If I was designing a screen, I’d put the various police guidelines (4 E’s, 6 W’s, ABC etc.) on the player facing side, alongside a list of available resources (forensics, CPU, HOLMES, financial etc.) and a basic description of the spells. On the GM side: a skill table with regular and hard examples plus any opposed skills, summaries of combat and chase rules, damages, weapons and vehicle stats (I suspect my screen would be several sheets of A3!)
  11. You could play it either way: give them magic points at the start, but don’t use them until they get the Magical advantage; or hold off until they get the advantage and then give them MPs.
  12. Alternatively, Fairy Cakes is a fun one-shot (I can't comment on any of Adam's case files, as I haven't run them yet!)
  13. Yes, I think so - they might decide to become practitioners later on.
