  1. Cattle raiding is usually limited the those who are in their two year training after initiation, and for those who are behaving stupidly (See Cattle Raid in the GM Screen Pack for a good example). Yes, in the GM Screen pack, adventure book (page 92): The cattle are marked with the Black Spear of Colymar Notes on livestock, page 87 details ownership. Lightbringers 147: Raiding All the Praxian tribes prefer to capture and eat the beasts of other tribes rather than their own. The raiding of tribe against tribe is a regular feature in their lives. Only in rare cases will there be any mixing. In clans, small mixed herds for dowery purposes are kept separate until needed, then eaten as part of the marriage event.
  2. It's that Foundchild eternally hunts the Silver Deer, but never catches it. See the box on 271 of Borderlands and beyond. It's the lunars that trap it using foreign magic. I wrote this for a game: During the Lunar advance into Prax, an Orogerian hunter came upon the Silver Deer in salaseh. Through its silver form she saw Purendi, and so he was distracted by her hunting call and was hers. See the Entekosiad for explanation.
  3. I love how WRBM is still so relevant today: (Colymar, Foot Militia, Mounted Militia and Two Ridge Farm) Do you think the Mounted City Militia has a better combat factor and Move due to better resources? I can also imagine the Malani unit is smaller, but packs the same punch.
  4. Given the amount of snake imagery in the Earth Goddesses book and the ubiquity of the Snake Daughter, it was great that the British Museum Blog has just published an article on some of this imagery. It also includes some spirit houses (for your wyters) and snake pagodas (shrines to Snake Daughter). 5. Forgotten as a weapon, not as a place
  6. Ancient Origins has published an article on Hunting Instruments Dating Back 1,900 Years Discovered in Mexican Cave. As one of the items is an atlatl, they linked to a great video on atlatls - Why the atlatl became forgotten (no mention of +1D6 damage and +10m range though) :

  8. I really don't know how you came to that conclusion.
  9. When rolling POW vs POW use the result threshold with the Ability Results Table, eg 15 POW vs 18 POW has a 35% chance of success so using the Ability Results Table (RQSS 8 or RQG 143): Ability Critical Special Success Failure Fumble 33–37 1–2 1–7 Per ability Per ability 98–00
  10. I've always used the demi-birds as the weapon in mounted melee (per @Joerg) as they are in perpetual mental link with their riders and follow their every order. They are far superior to any dragonewt melee weapon. Their dodge of 50% also makes them dangerous opponents.
  11. Tap changes what ever the target is in to magic points (see Steal Breath and Tap Body in the Core Rules). If the magic points aren't used to make permanent things (that's what POW does through Enchantment). I don't think it does. The Entika drained the water from Oslira, then it fell as rain filling a the ditches of Dara Happa. It was a god-forged weapon (Kargan Tor) not tapping.

  13. I don't think Kargan Tor did anything to himself, None of the Celestial Court (bar Uleria) survived the cosmic explosion vaporised the Spike and its inhabitants (Mythology 47). The pure powers were left and became part of those who now "own" the runes. In this case it was Humakt who remade the remains into something new. The debris of Larnste was a secret hidden by Mastakos in the Well of Daliath, and so on.
  14. We know that Kargan Tor deserted his post and allowed the invasion of the Spike by Chaos (Prosopaedia 75). None of the Celestial Court, except Uleria survived the destruction of the Spike, they were all transformed or devolved in some way. In Lightbringers (page 101), we know that Eurmal found the Great Divider which is clearly (to me) is the remainder of Kargan Tor. Eurmal kills Grandfather Mortal, the effect being that the road to hell opens. This witnessed by Humakt (in Mythology this story doesn't involve Eurmal at all, other than he facilitates the use of Death), who takes the Great Divider and forges it into the True Sword, which is now Death itself. So the Great Divider becomes the "new toy" Death. As to what shape the Great Divider, was before it became the True Sword, we'll never know.
  15. The Prosopadia entry (page 70), says he's the god of God of Conflict and Separation. It makes it clear that his duties are not well understood as Death didn't exist, and that he commanded powers that tear things or people apart.
  16. As a story hook yes. The adventure to the Dwarf to get a mechanical leg for your x.
  17. I've seen a few 3-legged cats (missing front legs), and recently saw a 3-legged dog (back legs). It's not uncommon: https://www.nationalgeographic.co.uk/animals/2018/10/how-animals-thrive-with-three-legs Two legs becomes problematic, but humans can often solve this, I had a friend with a dog that had lost the ability to use it's back legs, and so had wheels. There's also cases of front wheels: https://www.nationalgeographic.co.uk/video/tv/prosthetic-wheels-put-a-squirrel-on-the-road-to-recovery https://www.handicappedpets.com/blog/8-need-to-know-dog-wheelchair-tips/#:~:text=It's true that many wheelchair, exercise they so desperately need. Moon Rock?

As Glowspot is a three point Rune magic (RBM 54), it's likely that Red Goddess and Yara Aranis priestesses would use Matrix Creation to make cool Glowspot items incorporating Moon Rock (Bat priests also have the spell, but have no enchant spells, but are fortunately Glowspots themselves). Imagine tiny carved cosmic Moon Rock Bindi that look like a third eye (or get a real moon rock eye from Yara Aranis with permanent Glowspot effect).
  20. An adventurer gains access to all common Rune spells available to the cult at initiation—there is no need to gain each spell individually! Common Rune Magic box, RQG 74 / Mythology 141. Note that there will be a few of cults that don't follow this format, including the upcoming Seven Mothers (all common a season after initiation) (then pretty much the same as Cults of Prax 41).
  21. Mata the Green Goddess in First Age Safelster, is another name for Ernalda. She may well have adopted the name as a result of her research, or (one of) her parents have it as an old family name, or it was the the name of a character in one of the writers games (like Jorjera Latish). As for the lack of tattoos, pick any reason - removed in a heroquest, has geas or stricture - no tattoos. or maybe they are not visible to those not LM initiates or are under her clothes or are tiny.
  22. The British Museum Blog popped up this great article - How to make an Iron Age shield (out of bark) Although the dating of this artefact is Iron age, it could certainly be considered a type of hide or wicker shield found in Weapons & Equipment. I'd certainly give it to aldryami. https://www.britishmuseum.org/blog/how-make-iron-age-shield-out-bark
  23. Fortunately the IO cult is a stargazing one, complete with Planet and Constellation based sky sorcery, and forms the basis for Lunar Chronomancy.
  24. The four paragraphs on Busarian and Irripi Ontor in Lightbringers will be eclipsed by the revelation in The Lunar Way, that the solar Buserian cult was fully integrated into the cult of Irrippi Ontor. That was 340 years ago... The Irripi Ontor cult write up, while clearly related to Lhankor Mhy (sages, lores, spirit magic, etc) is not Lhankor Mhy (who has no Lunar sorcery or Mindblast abilities). Two onlookers watching a Brown Sage and a Sage debating the same lore skill would be hard pressed to tell them apart.
