  1. No, but after a review prompted by your comment, I admit it could be clearer. It should be comprehended as the following: Characters with undready weapons use their DEX or DEX plus/minus one or more of the modifiers in the list that follows the sentence if the keeper wants to have the shooter's skill and choice of weapon matter in determining order of attack HTH.
  2. He did? Is the Seth Skorkowsky video recent? I've had an explosion of sales today, which I put down to Chaosium's kind plug on Facebook for IW1. If you hadn't noticed there's a sale on IW1 right now to celebrate its release. Until 06 May, scroll up the thread to see the links. Sixtystone participates in the DTRPG Cthulhu Mythos sale as well but I think that has gone for this year. But Sixtystone may also be involved in any future horror-related DTRPG sales.
  3. Sixtystone Press is proud to announce the return of Investigator Weapons volume 1: 1920s & 1930s. Investigator Weapons volume 1 is the comprehensive guide to firearms of the 1920s and 1930s for all Call of Cthulhu investigators and keepers. We have added a seventh edition chapter, made a bunch of corrections, and revised the use of period photos throughout the book. With the addition of the new chapter, Investigator Weapons volume 1 is completely Call of Cthulhu seventh edition compatible. The new POD version is visibly superior to the previously good POD version, and has an improved paper weight as well. To celebrate its return, Sixtystone Press is happy to offer a special price for the PDF and/or POD until 06 May 2024. Note if you want the PDF and POD you will need to redeem both the vouchers. Investigator Weapons volume 1; PDF US $12.00 valid until 06 May 2024 Investigator Weapons volume 1; POD US $12.00 valid until 06 May 2024 Now’s the time to replace your well-thumbed copy, or update your PDF copy with a hard copy book, or take the plunge and try out the book if you’ve never read a Sixtystone Press Investigator Weapons book before. Previous purchasers should check their DTRPG library for the updated PDF, and their Inboxes for a special POD discount.
  4. Just a quick update to let previous purchasers know that the POD proof has been received and approved. Please check your inbox for a 75% discount offer from DTRPG to purchase the new POD. If you have DTRPG emails turned off check your Notifications Inbox in your DTRPG account. POD technology has improved over the years and the latest POD offerings are visibly better than previous prints. The paper has improved too. Replace your existing book if you want to keep up to date, or replace your well-thumbed copy with a fresh new version. Alternatively, if you only have the PDF and were thinking about getting a hardcopy, now’s the time to add to your Call of Cthulhu library at a great price. If you don't have Investigator Weapons volume 1 and want to get the 7e revised PDF and/or the POD book, there will be some rerelease special offers in the very near future, that will be advertised here and other places.
  5. Just a quick note to let all Sixtystone customers know, who purchased Investigator Weapons 1, that the title has been updated on DTRPG. Please download from your library to get the new seventh edition chapter and a host of corrections and updates. Investigator Weapons 1 will return to sale on DTRPG once the POD files have been approved. Previous POD customers will be offered a significant discount to update their paper book once the POD edition is published.
  6. We suffered the same amount of PC deaths caused by falls as death by gunshot wounds in my Twilight:2000 2e campaign. It became a bit of a running joke.
  7. I don't think your issue is about the rules but about how people seek advantage in combat. Your example is a brute-force example assault on an unknown vehicle. The combatants will slug it out until something happens. However in combat against a known vehicle, the assailants will be aiming for publicised weak spots, for example, this link details WW2 Soviet knowledge of German Panther weak spots that are suitable for various types of weapons (including your examples of autocannon and rockets). The weak spots will have been identified by prior combat engagements and captured examples and circulated amongst troops facing the known vehicles. The assailants will attempt to place themselves advantageously so they can attack a weak spot. The engaged vehicle will try and minimise the attack vectors against the weak spots. If you don't know about the weak spots you will have to be lucky instead. Maybe something based on the quality of the attack skill check and a Luck roll. And player-characters and NPCs operating a vehicle with weak spots should operate it in a way to minimise weaknesses as you live longer that way. So to answer your quandry, I propose that your vehicle stats should include weaknesses. These weaknesses may or may not be known to their enemies. I guess that's down to how you want to run Field Intelligence. Older models' weaknesses will be well known, but new models may enjoy a period of invincibility before any losses or captures. A hit on a weakness could bypass armour, or automatically kill the engine, or activate another damage subsystem, or some other way of immobilising the vehicle. An immobilised vehicle is a dead vehicle. On a more abstract level, some sort of tactical advantage rule that adds an advantage to an attack roll which in turn improves the chances of impales may work instead, and could be simpler.
  8. Just a quick update to let folks know who have opted out of publishers' email on DTRPG that Cathulhu has been updated. Sixtystone Press has added: A form-fillable character sheet PDF. Pre-filled character sheets for the five pre-gen cat-investigators from the book. Please download and enjoy! Stay fluffy!
  9. Hi RSanford, Investigator Weapons 2: Modern never went away, it's still available on DTRPG. As is Investigator Weapons 3: Gaslight. We had to withdraw Investigator Weapons 1: Jazz Age to make it 7e compatible. It will be back very soon in the New Year. Maybe that's what you meant? Anyways to celebrate IW2 still being available, here's a link to get the IW2 PDF for US $10 at DTRPG (that's half-price), valid until Boxing Day (26 Dec 2023). Adding to the conversation - weapon conversion is a fraught subject and I wish you the best of luck. I've learnt you have to eyeball the results and tweak the results that don't feel right. Luckily I have Hans on my team as well.

  11. Please see post https://basicroleplaying.org/topic/20234-cathulhu-zoomies-on-dtrpg/ for some introductory discounts.
  12. Cathulhu is back with some fine new 7e whiskers. Now available on DTRPG, Cathulhu is the feline mythos sleuth sourcebook that you didn't know you wanted. Cathulhu is intended as an interlude to mainstream Call of Cthulhu games, and provides a different POV to the horrors of the Cthulhu Mythos. It is best played light-heartedly as "cosy cthulhu", but can be played seriously. The opponents of the feline investigators can range from dastardly rat-kings or mutant sewer lizards to lone mad sorcerers or all the way to a full-blown confrontation with the Cthulhu Mythos. To celebrate this happy turn of events we would like to offer the readers of BRP Central some discounts. Please note, if you are a previous purchaser of the Cathulhu book you have been sent a very special discount for a new POD book, and the updated PDF files are in your DTRPG library. Cathulhu PDF only* for US $6.67 (33% discount), valid until 31 December 2023: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse.php?discount=95300b1142 Cathulhu POD only* for US $22.00, valid until 31 December 2023: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse.php?discount=9532615100 * If you want the PDF & POD at the same time please select the undiscounted PDF & POD option. The way colour POD is priced on DTRPG I cannot offer a significant discount for the colour POD. And discounts cannot be applied against the combo PDF & POD option. Stay fluffy!
  13. Thanks MOB, you beat me to the punch. BRP Central readers - please stay tuned for some release discounts.
  14. In reality, only the cover files differ from Lulu and Ingram Spark (which DTRPG uses). You can use the same files for pages or you may have to tweak the bleed settings. Lulu covers are different to DTRPG/Ingram covers but work on the same principles. Once you have the files for DTRPG you can use them for Ingram. Ingram used to charge a nasty setup fee for each title so I used to wait until free offers and set up a bunch of titles. It used to be that Lulu B&W was better quality and heavier paper, but I'm not so sure today. So print quality wise Lulu and Ingram are similar, and it boils down to personal preference. The biggest drawback is the wait time for the proof copy to arrive, and if you made a mistake you have to submit and wait all over again. ISBN barcodes are pointless on DTRPG, as they use their own stock barcodes for some reason. But Ingrams does not and you can use your own barcodes. Weird. So I leave a white space on my backcovers that DTRPG autofills with its own barcode, and I insert my own barcode for Lulu and Ingram.
  15. The book you are looking for is Cthulhu Through The Ages. I've been on the same trip as you have. A friend helped me so I'm paying the favour forward. There were no Dreamlands monsters in Malleus Monstrorum 7e, so I'm betting they will be in the forthcoming 7e Dreamlands book.
  16. I have just updated the files on DTRPG to the latest 7e version of Cathulhu. If you have purchased Cathulhu from DTRPG you should have received notification that your library files have been updated. If you have publisher notifications turned off, here's the notification. The POD files are going through the approval process. When that is complete, if you purchased the book version of Cathulhu via DTRPG you will receive a generous discount to order a hard copy of the new version. You don't have Cathulhu but want to buy it? Cathulhu will go back on sale once the POD files have been accepted and a proof copy has been approved. This should take 14-21 days to complete. I will make a lot of noise across the Internet when it's ready including this site.
  17. Tear (CN) gas is the 1920s equivalent of Mace, and is mostly used against strikers and protesters first in the USA from the late 1920s and then around the world. Mace first appeared in 1963 and reached its current form by the late sixties. Search "Federal gas billy" for truncheons equipped with a gas canister that allows tear gas to be "sprayed" (actually more like "misted" over) over 2-3 assailants, or eject a gas cloud affecting 5-6 assailants at once depending on the type of billy. Tear gas fountain pens were also a thing in the 1930s, see the Federal Protect-O for example. The .41 Colt Thunderer appears in Sixtystone Press's Investigator Weapons 3: Gaslight & Old West. However, it is the only .41 cal weapon in the book so don't buy the book if you only want .41 cal weapons. Do buy the book if you want lots of Gaslight gun-ness.
  18. The POD version of The Black Seal #4 is now available. If you opted to receive email from Sixtsytone Press via DTRPG you will have recently received a voucher to order the POD for US $7.50 If you didn't get the email, here is the voucher again: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse.php?discount=97c2385897 It's valid until Friday 30 June 2023. Note it's for the POD only (no PDF).
  19. I have just released a small PDF on Miskatonic Repository to test the market for small inexpensive game aids. The first release is Keeper Utilities #1: 100 Stat Blocks for Keepers & Players in a Hurry. 100 Stat Blocks allows keepers and players to quickly generate Call of Cthulhu investigators and major NPCs with one dice roll of 3D10s or 2D10 and 1D8. 100 Stat Blocks is actually 1000 pre-rolled and calculated stat blocks. They are sorted by primary characteristics like STR or INT, and the appropriate attributes are calculated. If you are interested in this sort of thing, feel free to avail yourself of the following 50% discount (US $1.25 instead of US $2.50) until 19 June 2023: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse.php?discount=9ff19a7306
  20. As dreamers across the world awaken from their disturbed sleep, The Black Seal magazine stirs from its aeons-old slumber and stumbles into life. The Black Seal #4 is back! To celebrate the Seal’s return, we offering the following discount: 25% off (until 14 June 2023 as BRP Central was down for a bit) https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse.php?discount=92afbb9143 The Black Seal is a modern-day Call of Cthulhu fanzine hailing from the UK. It lasted three issues before succumbing to a mi-go hibernation ray. Now it’s back with a fourth issue, themed about the persistence of life, and features seven articles and two scenarios. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/438467/The-Black-Seal-4
  21. Hi Ken, If you're reading this, could you please check your Messaqes please as I have pinged you. Many thanks in advance.
  22. Depends on what you mean by "volume 4"? Do you mean similar volumes for Dark Ages and Cthulhu Invictus? If so, we have long range plans for books like that but they are out of Hans' specialism so we need to find a subject expert for each of these periods. But if you mean "volume 4" is another trilogy of books covering WW1, WW2 and the Cold War, then yes these will be following but not for some time.
