Agreed. If I have a sense of how the setting moves, the world details (aside from a few names) are really something I can just improvise. (Hehe @ Xymox. My high school girlfriend my senior year (some 20 years ago) used to freaking love Clan of Xymox's album "Medusa" like nobody's business. Pretty much anything from 4AD made her happy)

Hello: My name is George and I'm a freelance RPG writer. I've worked on books for the World of Darkness (new; core), Vampire: The Requiem, Exalted (first edition), as well as some d20 stuff. Although I've played many the game since my humble gamer beginnings in 1982, my favorite game has always and forever will be Call of Cthulhu, Basic Roleplaying version. I'm currently working on a setting for the BRP system that I hope to, at some point, publish it as either a monograph or as a licensed release. My other hobbies include cats, horror film/books/art, rockclimbing, xing yi, meditation, going to Burning Man related events, and laying on the floor listening to old progressive rock albums. Hello: I'm a new member to these forums. So, if there is a thread (or link) that offers answers to these questions, just post them and I'll waste no more of your time. I was curious about what is involved in writing a monograph OR licensed setting for the BRP setting. I realize the latter is far more involved than the former and that Chaosium isn't going to toss out licensing to just anyone. Also, does Chaosium give the writers of the monographs any sort of payment when they sell their work or is it just a way that Chaosium supports fan produced materials? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for having me on your forums and I look forward to spending more time here. Take care -George
