  1. Yes, I had always assumed that Waha fighting Pavis and the Statue was actually a Praxian khan posessed by Waha, effectively an avatar of the god, similar to how Jar-Eel is an avatar of Sedenya.
  2. Reading your preferences, I suggest you set your campaign in one of the Orlanthi clans settled in Pavis County, in Prax. They’ll be surrounded by nomads and plains, Pavis city is right there and there are loads of fun adventures to have. They can even have some Praxian mounts to ride.
  3. For me it's like the Predator camouflage, you can only try to spot it when it is moving, otherwise it is extremely difficult.
  4. I guess Rune levels summon a cult spirit that knows the desired spirit spell and “teaches” it to the initiate through friendly spirit combat. That does not explain why Rune levels can only teach spells they know, but usually they will know all cult spirit spells anyway, so it is not that jarring. If it is, I’d just erase that mention from my games.
  5. Here’s my review of Alone Against the Static. 😌 https://elruneblog.blogspot.com/2023/12/alone-against-static-for-call-of.html?m=1
  6. I’d like to read more about the heroquests you ran in your campaign!
  7. I’m curious about the fact that Ernalda keeps a small part of every gift for herself to return to the center. Does that mean there is always another way for the Earth to receive the gifts it deserves?
  8. Lovely, we need more Ernalda myths like this one. But what is the teaching of this myth?
  9. I once looked for ideas for the Grand Plan and found a long chronicle of a Pavis campaign on the Internet. In that campaign, Pavis Grand Plan was... But perhaps I'm misremembering things mixing in bits from Mongoose's Pavis Rises book. 🥴
  10. Yes, it could be. So you lean more on her being the Queen of Feathered Horses. It could be both, as Soltakss says. It could be that she is dressed with a hat in the shape of a horse head with feathers, reminiscent of old Hippoi. In fact, that's what I interpret from the chit. Maybe Greg didn't give William Church much art direction, only a name to draw. And what he drew became part of the character. But I guess we'll never know now. 🥲 Thanks everyone for your insights!
  11. Hi, the other day the following question crossed my mind: What does exactly the title “Feathered Horse Queen” mean? Is it the (Feathered Horse) Queen, in other words: the Queen of Feathered Horses (horses with a lot of hair in their feet)? Or is it rather the Feathered (Horse Queen), that is, the Horse Queen that is decorated with feathers? The depictions usually show her wearing feathers, so I guess it’s the second option. Also, her chit in the wargame also depicts her with feathers. Does anyone know for certain? 🤔🤔🤔
  12. Having the highest skill win in case of a draw would be another option. As in Call of Cthulhu.
  13. Regarding the trample attack, I’d say the damage modifier does not apply, because the creature is not using its strength, only its weight. So a special attack would not cause additional damage.
  14. Look at this list! 😳😳😳👍 https://www.geeknative.com/163491/the-best-selling-fantasy-rpgs-published-on-drivethrurpg-in-2023/
  15. If a Telmori casts only "Wolf's Head" and "Wolf's Fur", they become your usual two-legged werewolf. 🙂 I would say they can hurt one another, but they can't hurt spirits with their fangs. Jeff Richards clarified that Telmori in wolf form are unintelligent beasts like "very clever dogs" , so they won't attack anyone they feel Loyalty for. https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com/the-telmori/ Happy Holidays!
  16. I’d say it makes iron move or it substitutes iron in those places where it is not present
  17. I had never thought about that, but yes, I would allow it.
  18. Elves who are on a mission for their forest and elves who are renegade make good elf characters in RQ. As for the family history, I would either follow Scotty's advice (easy) or create a family history taking the forest in general as the adventurer's clan (difficult). Count the number of questions a human adventurer needs to answer in the rulebook and create as many questions for the elf character to choose from. Since forests are old, focus only on major events in elf history around that particular forest. I would also include events that no human knows about, as they are only known by the elves of that forest.
  19. I remember that from Borderlands. 🙂 But, would you say the "captain" here is the leader among the group of PCs or rather Allabeer as commander of the militia?
  20. Every GM and group is going to make a decision on this. When I played RQ3, we ruled that Damage Resistance could not be broken by criticals, so for me Ward Against Weapons is the same in that regard. More discussion about this.
  21. That's a good question! A good way would be for some NPCs to accompany the PCs. Then, if some PC suffers a bout of madness that lasts for many turns, the player can temporarily control one of the NPCs and so remain in the action while her PC is running away or incapacitated.
  22. I've written a review of Alone Against the Static: https://elruneblog.blogspot.com/2023/12/alone-against-static-for-call-of.html Maybe you'll agree with me. Maybe not. 🤔
  23. I'd say dragonewts don't show respect for anything or anyone... who is not immersed in totally alien draconic knowledge.
  24. Here's my review of Cults of RuneQuest: The Earth Goddesses: Review of Cults of RuneQuest: The Earth Goddesses See if you agree with it. 🙂
