  1. It's a good question. I'd hate to see it shrunk so much that you lose the details. Assuming a slipcase set, you could do a poster insert. But potentially folded panels could be a better option.
  2. Yes, I definitely fumbled my Gods War Lore roll there!
  3. In the Gods War game, these are all the War Gods and, yes, Wachaza is the Sea's War God. (And for the Moon, it is Natha.) For the most part, these are the gods who participated at Kargan Tor's Court of Conflict. Each is a bearer of destruction is some aspect (sometimes marked by the Disorder Rune, sometimes the Death Rune, sometimes both). They all have important myths of breaking some part of the world. And as you comment, they each embody the terrifying aspects of their element. Of course Storm as an element of disorder and violence actually has a few gods that fit this model, not just Storm Bull. There is also Vadrus and his particularly unruly son Gagarth. The fact that Storm Bull has the Storm Rune mitigates the need for the Disorder Rune on top of it. But what is notable about this set of gods is that on the whole they bring back some beneficial power to their communities from their destructive acts. And, unlike Trickster, they are considered "acceptable" within their communities to some degree, even if they are dangerous and often unruly parts of it (which Trickster never is).
  4. That's Tork you're thinking of! Totally different place. No chaos apples in Imther, if you please. Good Orlanthi, upright Yelmalions, and insightful Lunars all working together towards a more perfect union... And, yes, both gold and red apples to be found, as well as luscious pears - all the bounty of the Earth goddesses (unlike poor, blighted Balazar which turned away from civilization and its bounty so, so long ago). ๐Ÿ˜‰
  5. Perhaps it will be The Monomyth when it is done? Jeff's latest FB share of Agathe Pitiรฉ in-process work.
  6. Purple woman with green hair is definitely Gorgorma. And presumably Dendara is the one holding up the throne. The sun for a head I'd venture to name "Brightface", but I don't think it is Yelmalio.
  7. Apparently you didn't get the HQG Sartar Companion book. There you can learn of the sad events that underlie Apple Lane in 1625. You can get the RQ Classics again! That heroquest is achievable. ๐Ÿ™‚ But otherwise it is up to your PC's to restore the placid tranquility of Apple Lane to its rightful place outside the flows of Disorder and Death....
  8. Plenty of apples right next door in the Imtherian southlands! The Sun Dome Temple there provides plenty of blessings for the Earth goddesses. But don't bring those Balazaring dogs along! There's a long-time feud between the pups of Brother Dog and the pups of Rowdril in Saird.
  9. I believe this is a common approach to become BG. They are protecting Earth's children, and at the same time raising them to become subsequent defenders of the Earth.
  10. It would probably go with the Bloody Tusk, if that's included. I'm sure it will not be focused on any ancient cult.
  11. Snow sprites? Snowball spirits? At this point, unknown, I think. But, yes, think we're ready for the Glorantha plush toy line with these!
  12. We just might! One of my favorites was from their Season's Greeting. Inora by Loรฏc Muzy:

  14. So this is very much a period of the Old Earth working in the "shadows" so to speak. (There is no outright war, but clearly the Red Earth was in the ascendancy up until the fall of Whitewall.) What happens next is the Great Winter, and that is a major blow to Red Earth power. Of course, the cities have great stores of grain (and refugees from the country will flee to those when their local supplies run out), but the crops can't get planted/grow in 1622 and Hendira is unable to do anything about it - she is Ernalda's representative in Esrolia, but Ernalda is dead and so are Hendira's powers. I think much of the maneuvering between Hendira and Samastina is likely to occur in the Gods World, in the Great Darkness (or in the Gods World manifested in the Holy Country). Hendira is relying on Lunar aid, and I'm sure is still concerned about Manirian raiders, particularly as they may go after the granaries of Red Earth allied cities. Samastina will likely focus on embodying Ernalda to help her return from the Underworld/the dead. The culmination happens the same day as the Battle of Auroch Hills. Samastina emerges in the palace of Nochet (we're not sure from where, but perhaps climbs the stairs of the palace basement?), and casts down Hendira and seizes the throne. Hendira and her allies flee the palace and Nochet. Samastina has twins later in 1623, probably fathered by Broyan. Did this happen before or after Auroch Hills? My guess is before as pregnancy would help prove that Samastina is now Ernalda, bringing life out of the Underworld. And that means she must meet Broyan somewhere. Perhaps returning from Cragspider, but I think more likely in the Underworld where Orlanth and Ernalda are "dead". I'd vote for them being chained in the Halls of the Maggot Liege (aka Dead Yelm) as this makes a nice contrast to the Wooing of Ernalda by Orlanth in Yelm's Golden Palace. How that fits into events for your campaign is hard to say, but likely Samastina needs relics, tools, allies, etc. to prepare for or aid her Underworld quest.
  15. I'm sure supporting the plans of the Shadowlords and the leaders of the Shadow Plateau (which is very much in keeping with the Old Earth, but also a point of contention with Queen Hendira as she had troll bodyguards and likely some alliance with some troll leaders). Note that in 1623, Broyan's route to Nochet is not over the seas, but through the Shadow Plateau, from where he engaged and defeated the Lunars' Grazelander allies near Valadon. This defeat of the FHQ may have been critical to Samastina's success as a new FHQ arose who helped bring about the Dragonrise.
  16. This might well be Kero Fin rather than Ernalda, and Kero Fin is the land goddess of Kerofinela (aka Dragon Pass). Sovereignty over Dragon Pass comes from Kero Fin, and it is through her that the FHQ gains her title of Queen of Dragon Pass.
  17. The main events are the Siege of Nochet and the Battle of Pennel Ford. The Red Earth faction is pretty well crushed at the battle and left in disarray. Queen Hendira and her husbands die there. The focus of the Red Earth is protecting their lands from the "Western Barbarians", aka Greymane and the Solanthi/Ditali Orlanthi. That is paramount in Hendira's thinking, and the Lunars are good allies to help them there (as well as other allies of the Lunars such as the Grazelanders). In 1621, Hendira is trying to develop this alliance in anticipation of yet another great raid by Greymane. The Old Earth focus on opposing the Lunars and aiding Sartar seems like a folly to Hendira (plus Hendira is of House Norinel and thinks Samastina's House Delaeos is something of an usurping faction that will expose Esrolia to the barbarian hordes). As of 1621, the Warm Earth faction is focused on Porthomeka, and the Demivierge cares little for the schemes between Hendira and the Old Earth faction. There's really no battles per se after that - just Warm Earth and Old Earth factions ransacking and pillaging the Red Earth faction lands (during 1624). Good time to stir up hatreds between cities and houses/clans. At that point (i.e. 1625, post-Dragonrise), you've got Queen Samastina in Nochet and North Esrolia with the Old Earth faction dominant; and the Demivierge of Rhigos with her Caladran allies and the Warm Earth faction dominant in South Esrolia. Something of a wary battle of intrigue at that point. Within that House Norinel and the remnants of the Red Earth faction begin to rebuild, probably starting at Mylagos in the heart of the old Red Earth territories (remembering that land is controlled and somewhat parceled out by the Earth temples based on many old, conflicting claims). You can get some feel for the balance of power reading the Esrolia Homeland overview in the RQG Core book. Unknown. Visions of the Future? Prophecies? Keys to get her to the throne in Nochet? Suggestions to ally with Broyan and/or Argrath? Unless you are playing Samastina, it probably doesn't matter (and probably only covered initial events to defeat the Red Earth given that the meeting occurs somewhere between Samastina's flight from Nochet ~1621 and the Siege of Nochet in 1623). What timeframe for your campaign?
  18. Sorcery is a skill of logic, so emotion while attempting to concentrate and cast is probably not overly useful. No. Remember that the use of Runes in sorcery has no formal connection to the Runes that make up your characters. Maybe the character has a high Air Rune rating. Might mean they are prone to violent outbursts against the hated Rival sorcerer (or rival clan, or whoever), or that they are rather fickle like the winds. But can still focus their mind to cast sorcery (perhaps think computer programmers here, and the wide range of personalities that become programmers). Look in the RQ Bestiary under the Mostali, and think of their spells from the standpoint of sorcery. Substitute sorcery techniques for dwarf techniques, and you should be in reasonable shape.
  19. Maybe she needed it to hide from Kangharl and the Lunars? Maybe she went on the Scarf of Mist quest to gain such powers? It does suggest that she keeps things hidden, that she is deceptive like the winds themselves.
  20. The question of Orgorvale's timeframe was answered by Jeff on FB: "Lesser Darkness. About 5,000 years ago."
  21. I do not expect this level to be discussed in GoG. Potentially, but we'll have to wait and see on that.
  22. It could be as simple as that. Or might "translate" the "logical" western view of devolving Runes into a "theistic" framework. So where something says to "Separate the Air out of the Man", in the Elasa Script it says "Have Orlanth draw out the Breath".
  23. It's descriptions of Nick's two playtests of the scenario. Useful ideas of how various pieces might be staged, pieces that could readily be left out, ways that certain scenes and situations might be played out. Very useful from a GM perspective. Overall, I'd say it helps you think about ways to clarify or refine the play of it. (You don't need it to "complete" the scenario - there's plenty in the scenario as-is.)
