  1. I plan to do something like this with the Guide, which has already the size for being used as a set of very impressive tomes ... ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  2. I wouldn't raise the value of the corruption flaw every time the magic is used. Instead I would use the following approach: after the character has developed the corruption flaw he could try to overcome the flaw every time he uses the magic in question. if he fails, the corruption flaw would be raised. The amount of the raise would be determined by the GM, but should be based on the Degree of Failure (e.g. +1 for Marginal or Minor Defeat, +2 for Major Defeat, +3 for Complete Defeat). in case of a success nothing happens. The GM could even allow, that the corruption flaw is lowered, e.g. -1 in case of a Complete Victory. The GM can control the outcome of this situation to a certain degree, because he determines the Difficulty Level. Another approach could be using the opposed Corruption/Magic roll @soltakss described already above instead of overcoming the corruption.
  3. Really? Farmer Farmer's last book? (Georg (greek) = Farmer, Agricola (latin) = Farmer) Sorry, couldn't resist ...
  4. Yes, indeed. Playing the messenger in that battle it felt really like being part of the battle and even influencing it (on a lesser scale but not necessarily with less importance). It was fun and made the battle in fact a part of the campaign without removing to much time from the real goal of the campaign (whichever that may be ๐Ÿ˜‰).
  5. Yes, creating a flaw would be exactly the approach, that I would use. Every time the respective magic is used, you have to overcome the flaw. If this fails, the value of the flaw raises. Only in case of a critical success it would go down. A critical failure could lead to some extraordinary behaviour or result, maybe temporary only.
  6. All true, but I thought always using the Alien Combination Machine is a way to avoid all these unwanted consequences ...
  7. So I can read this, that the ships are on their way?
  8. Does anybody know the size of the maps from the original Griffin Mountain pack? The PDF released for the RuneQuest Classic Kickstarter says 594x399mm, which doesn't seem to be a standard size (even if recalculated from inches). I would like to order the maps in (at least roughly) the same size from Redbubble ...
  9. @MOB: With the currently closed: Will this thread be re-opened after the printed version is available? Or a new thread created? Because I've just found another issue, which I would like to tell the responsible people ... ๐Ÿ˜‰
  10. As far as I know all stretch goals except for QuestWorld have been achieved and will be released. Current state is, that all stretch goals are available already up to Griffin Mountain plus Borderlands (and the RQ Companion in a not yet final version) with Pavis, Big Rubble and Trollpak still outstanding. Release frequency has been raised during the last months ...
  11. Ah, indeed. I've missed that, because it is not visible in the printed version at the back of RuneQuest - Roleplaying in Glorantha, which I used as my reference. But it is clearly visible in the version at the Cartographer's Guild as well as it seems to be in the version available from Redbubble. So the empty blue marker above red 9 - Lunar Tower seems to be a misprint ...
  12. The Boldhome map from the back pages of the printed RuneQuest - Roleplaying in Glorantha rulebook is now available from Redbubble: https://www.redbubble.com/de/people/chaosium/works/36368265-stadt-von-boldhome-map-von-olivier-sanfilippo?c=586570-glorantha-cartography By the way: I have some questions about this map. I'm not able to locate blue 19 - Spider Temple. On the other hand there is an empty blue marker above red 9 - Lunar Tower. Is this the missing marker for blue 19, i.e. is the Spider Temple located above the Lunar Tower? Red 5 is named the Queen's Palace and red 6 is the City Tower, but on the map red 5 is obviously a tower and red 6 is not. So should the markers be switched?
  13. I think this matches my understanding of Feats much better than just seeing them as Rune Spells ...
  14. By the way: Is there a way to emulate the concept of Feats available for a cult from HeroQuest Glorantha in RuneQuest - Roleplaying in Glorantha?
  15. So it's like Ernalda during the Gods War. Seems we need someone to wake it up ... (Light/Life Bringers Quest?)
  16. To tell the truth, this side-track is quite interesting. But finding it later would be much easier, if it had been transfered into its own thread ...
  17. Are you sure, you're still talking about "Sun County Templars' and militiamen's cult ranks" (which was the original subject of this thread ๐Ÿ˜‰)?
  18. According to HeroQuest Glorantha, p.69, The Fate of the Dead: An Orlanthi View From the The Book of Heortling Mythology, p.58, The Court of Silence Daka Fal = Grandfather Mortal Darhudan = Grandfather Mortal Daka Fal = Darhudan = Grandfather Mortal So, yes, Daka Fal is the Judge of the Dead in Orlanthi mythology. And he has been Grandfather Mortal, before he died and became Daka Fal/Darhudan. If he's called Daka Fal or Darhudan depends on regional influences/histories/myths probably.
  19. The miniatures from the Kickstarter (as well as other miniatures) are available from the Infinity Engine web site: https://www.infinity-engine.com/index.php?id_product=90&controller=product
  20. Oracle

    Trolls & "Bugs"

So Kyger Litor is a duck, รคh, durulz in a sailor suit? ... No, sorry, wrong movie ... ๐Ÿ˜‰
  21. Really, @MOB, you tempt me to spend a lot of money for something, that I would like to have (just for the fun of it), but certainly do not need and also cannot justify to buy ... ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ Triggering this kind of personal conflict forbids completely to spend a like for your post ... ๐Ÿ˜‰
  22. Not according to the Guide to Glorantha, p.131:
  23. You're a mean guy ... ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  24. As it should be ... ๐Ÿ˜‰
