  1. All of these suggestions are very helpful. Thank you BRP forums! My next question which is related to the OP - I'm starting a new campaign (one of two RQG that will run concurrently with two different player groups, BTW) and I'm considering using the adventures in the RQG Starter Set. However, the first adventure, "A Rough Landing," assumes that one has played through the SoloQuest, "Battle of Dangerford," which takes place in 1625. Do you have suggestions about how I can run "A Rough Landing" but not have it tied to the Battle of Dangerford in 1625. Could I move Battle of Dangerford to occur in 1615 as a first battle that takes place in 1615, perhaps lead by someone other than Kallyr Starbrow? And then the Battle of Dangerford in 1625 could occur as is when we get to that year in the campaign, as the Second Battle of Dangerford? This is in a way sort of like how the Game Master Screen Pack has the "Return to Apple Lane" adventure. Another thing of consequence - I will use The Broken Tower with the core rulebook's pregenerated characters as the first session to get everyone familiar with the game system and world of Glorantha. Then, those who do want to continue will create characters for the campaign, which will begin in 1615, as previously stated.
  2. Thank you @jajagappa! I was looking for Early Family History, but the other ones, especially the Nochet Adventurer's Guide, will be very useful too!
  3. I recall that there is at least one book on the Jonstown Compedium that offers an alternate character creation timeline which begins earlier than the one in the core RQG book. But I can't find it via any searches on the site. Does anyone know the title of this PDF? I keep failing my Lhankor Mhy search in the Great Jonstown Library Compendium!

  5. I'm running 5 introductory Pendragon events at DragonCon in the "Non-Campaign RPGs" program designed to introduce anyone with or without experience with Pendragon or RPGs to this fantastic, award-winning game. The Adventure of the Great Hunt is the scenario. Sign-ups are not open yet, but the scenario's description and session slots are listed here - https://gaming.dragoncon.org
  6. Awesome! I just read and posted a reply to your Actual Play write-up on RPG.net.
  7. I've been reading the AAA (Argan Argar Atlas) with accompanying maps as reference for the current RQG campaign I'm playing in set in Esrolia and it's a brilliant book and map set. It helps us to plan our adventures since at some point we will be venturing out to the sea and possibly tracing the route of Holy Dormal on his voyage when he broke the sea. We'll also be visiting the God-King since it's known that his body is beginning to age and the next match of the Masters of Luck and Death will be coming in the next few years. We've been roleplaying through the character creation years rather than simply rolling the backgrounds since these player characters are somewhat specialized and the tables in RQG core can't accommodate the details and nuances that we want to highlight from our childhoods. We started as 10 year-old Esrolians and have had 1-2 sessions representing the year before advancing to the next year. We just finished year 14. And we're having a wonderful time.
  8. I too like the cover art for Pendragon 5th edition (5.0) with the boar since it is inspired not by Malory, but the pagan Arthurian myths. In a similar vein I also like the cover to Pendragon 4th edition since it too seems to draw inspiration from the old ways or old religion. The only off-putting thing about many of the covers (including 4th edition) is the wearing of plate armor.
  9. This is a great campaign @ArkSvid!! Please continue to post notes here as it continues. I've always been interested in the Pagan versions of Arthurian myths from texts like the Mabinogion.
  10. I recommend reviewing the current DnD Adventurers League program guide to get some ideas about how to organize and structure the guidelines for character creation. As for "DM selection," it probably should be members of the Cult of Chaos. When Mongoose Publishing had a license to produce Runequest RPG products set in the Second Age they had a Living Glorantha program. I played in the first of the adventures, "The Summons of the Whyter" and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, no other Living Glorantha events were subsequently scheduled for my local area. I don't know if the published Living Glorantha guide is available because it could provide some guidance on establishing a "CoC Adventurers League" program. The Well of Daliath has a page on the Mongoose Publishing published Runequest books, and the contents of the Living Glorantha PDF guide is listed. Here's a link to the page. Just my thoughts.
  11. Hi Andrew, I occasionally make it up to Athens to visit Tyche's Games, and I need to get up there to visit the Level Up Games that opened in the last year. I've run the introductory Runequest scenario "The Broken Tower" at the Level Up Games in Duluth and will be running the introductory Call of Cthulhu scenario "Dead Boarder" there this month. Reach out to me if you visit the Atlanta metro area and would like to meet face-to-face at one of the local game stores like Level Up.
  12. Name: Walter Country: United States City: Atlanta, Georgia I've played Call of Cthulhu since 1st edition, always as the Keeper. I had an opportunity to play CoC for the Horror on the Orient Express campaign in the early 90s but wasn't able to attend any sessions beyond the first. It's a funny story on why I wasn't able to commit to the campaign. Ask me about it and I'll share it with you over a drink one day at a convention. I've recently been running Runequest: Roleplaying in Glorantha at both Friendly Local Game Stores in the Atlanta metro area, and at local conventions, the most recent being DragonCon. I just started running CoC at FLGS and will then follow with Pendragon. I'll do a rotation of the various Chaosium published games (RQG, CoC, Pendragon, 7th Sea) at FLGS and next year's DragonCon. Reach out to me if you're local to Atlanta/Georgia or passing through. I'd love to connect with other Cult of Chaos game masters. I'm also on the Cult of Chaos Discord server as "borbetomagnus#9679".
  13. I ran 5 fantastic sessions of The Broken Tower RQG quickstart scenario at DragonCon 2022 and was able to introduce a total of 24 gamers (new and old, experienced and inexperienced) to the mythic glory of Runequest: Roleplaying in Glorantha! I used the miniatures produced by Infinity-Engine (The Broken Tower adversaries) and Mad Knight (pre-generated player characters) and a silicon hex mat for a "light" tactical game during combat encounters -- The encounter with the Rock Lizards and the conclusion in the Broken Tower with Idrima and Danakos, Sprul-Pa and any other adversaries that were summoned by Idrima. Like I said, it was fantastic! So, I've run The Broken Tower a total of seven times and I'm writing up notes to assist GMs with my guidance and recommendations for running this scenario to introduce gamers to RQG.
  14. I've shared it on the Discord channels (Chaosium, Runequest & Glorantha, and Cult of Chaos). I don't use FB. But you have my permission to post my message above to FB.
  15. I'm running 5 sessions of the Runequest: Roleplaying In Glorantha quickstart adventure "The Broken Tower" at DragonCon 2022. Help me get the word out and here are some helpful links: DragonCon homepage DragonCon Gaming Schedule and Events Sign-up My sessions are under the "Role Playing Games Non Campaign" category Thursday, September 1 at 8:00 PM EDT Friday, September 2 at 1:00 PM EDT Saturday, September 3 at 9:00 AM EDT Sunday, September 4 at 9:00 AM EDT - only two remaining player slots available! Monday, September 5 at 1:00 PM EDT
  16. It's been a while since I posted some new pictures of the miniatures I've been working on (real life concerns taking priority). But here you go. A few from the Lance and Laser Hero Wars line and the RQG "The Broken Tower" quickstart pre-generated player character set from Mad Knight. The Mad Knight miniatures go well with the RQG quickstart adversaries set from Infinity-Engine that I posted earlier in this thread. I was able to use both sets of miniatures at a game session yesterday where I introduced players to RQG. It went very well, the group had a great time and enjoyed using the miniatures on a one-sided Chessex vinyl hex mat that I've used for nearly 30 years. Now, enjoy the pics!
  17. I agree with @Joergabout the crimson skin. I painted a few of the Lance and Laser Lunar Warband figures with crimson skin. I even painted one with more orange skin too. IMHO, I look Gloranthan beings being at the mercy of mythic forces where skin tones are associated to one's affinity to the runes and not physical matters. Of course, after saying all that, it stands that "Your Glorantha Will Vary."
  18. You could try emailing him via the address on his company's website, Infinity-Engine. He's always been responsive to my email inquiries and orders. I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Duck miniatures, in addition to a bunch of add-ons of other Glorantha figures.
  19. Also, Just an update that Rapier's site is now up again. I think it was offline for a while and it looks like the URL has been changed from co.uk to a .com domain. Here's the link.

  22. Thanks for your thoughts and the details that I haven't looked up on the product page about the figures being mounted on 25mm bases. I think that you're judgement is probably right and I'd never say you or anyone else is wrong with using whatever miniature figures you want to use for YOUR Glorantha game. I'll probably seek out a set of these GW Kharadron Overlords the next time I stop in my FLGS that stocks GW figures and models. It will just add more to the growing pile of figures I currently have on my backlog of miniatures to paint. But there are worse fates to have in this world than a backlog of gaming miniatures waiting to be painted. 😉
  23. The standard size for minis have been increasing in the last decade. I like the 28mm size, but it looks as if more and more manufacturers are going toward 32mm. With regard to the GW Warhammer line -- are these Kharadron Overlords true to the 28mm base scale or are they closer to 32mm? I like the look of them and agree that they could be used as Gloranthan Iron Mostali.
  24. Pledged! I've gotten further behind in my minis painting due to switching jobs three times in the last year and having to spend more hours learning the new responsibilities. But, I'm excited that MadKnight is still producing figures and I'll continue to support them. I'm finally going to paint some figures tonight after months long hiatus. I'm glad he's doing some Ducks this time and cavalry too. That wyvern looks awesome!
  25. I'm interested in helping out and have sent an email. I'm the content administrator for Project: Redcap so have experience with content creation and management.
