Hey all! The wife and I are just getting into playing Heroquest and her comments from last weekends session (set in the world of Harry Potter) were, "It was much more fun than last time!" The last time she is referring to was using another rules lite system, FU, and I agree with her assessment - HQ really worked well! We're using a mix of Rory's story cubes and Mythic to run our games and we had a blast. With that said, I'd like to get into a more published setting and am not sure how she'll take to Glorantha (though I'm going to give it a shot tonight) which brings me to Nameless Streets. I can't seem to find much current discussion on it, though the stuff from it's time of release up until around 2012 seemed to be only praise for the supplement. Is anyone out there still running Nameless Streets? I've reached out to Alephtar Games to see if they can't ship me a print edition from overseas, so we'll see on that department. Thanks.

Interesting read, thanks for the post! Much appreciated. As someone new to roleplaying games (I purchased Third Edition Shadowrun years back, but never grokked the system or attempted to play it and instead just enjoyed reading it), having recently dove headfirst into all things Glorantha, I found a lot of the advice quite helpful. I'm also a big wargamer, so rules at the outset appear quite friendly to me though I've had some initial success dabbling in HQG. Going to give it another shot, but this time truly set in Glorantha with the wife. As the article mentions, it helps to remember to make the roleplaying the central goal -- what makes your character tick? What drives them? Thanks!

Awesome! Thank you so much! I benefited greatly from Yohann's PandaCon youtube introductory game and now am looking forward to delving into your HQG game. Awesome -- trying the system out with my wife, though we've been loosely playing in the Harry Potter world as I've been reading and reading up on Glorantha. Might float the idea of jumping into Glorantha with her tonight and see how it goes!

Since posting this thread, I splurged on getting the HQ Core Rules to supplement HQG as many mention that the rules examples and charts are a bit easier to understand. Haven't dug into it yet, but it was a no brainer considering I was getting some other materials and was only $19.95. Would still be nice... but then again, I'd probably prefer new books as hopefully the HQ Core clears anything ambiguities up.

To celebrate some work successes, my wife wishes to celebrate the occasion, by giving me some hobby funds -- with this money I was seriously contemplating picking up the six map pack, ideally to mount on the wall, as well as possibly the 24 map set of the entire Gloranthan world. I wanted to see what the opinions were of the maps, and there usefulness (primarily the 12x18 maps) in gaming, for those who have purchased them. I have searched online and haven't seen much talk of them. I ask as I know the PDF of the Atlas (which I own) are not vector based and using zoom doesn't net the best result. Thanks!

I just wanted to check-in and see if the errata thread, that was started back over @ Glorantha.com, was ever compiled into an official errata. If not, no worries -- just checking in due to the forum switch over. I'm really starting to dig into HQ:G and am watching Yohann Delalande's awesome HQG game on YouTube and wanted to nail down the rules as I read through them for a second time. Thanks, Jonathan

Or ... c. Fans of RQ and Glorantha who have been patiently awaiting AiG (RQ6 Glorantha supplement) and then RQG to now find out the system itself is changing. We deeply wanted our current system to simply be mated with Glorantha in an official format.

Killed AiG and now no RQ6 based Glorantha specific book? Very disappointed, not in either TDM or Chaosium but simply because we won't get to ever see it.
