  1. It is a small, very fixable issue in a large book of cool stuff. Not really a sticking point, more of a “hey look at that.”
  2. I can see how this is confusing though. As a new player, and having played with some power gamers in the past, if I had sufficient strength, I’d just choose Battle Axe (the 1H option) so my base skill was 10, then I could 2H if I wanted with the higher skill or use any of the weapons of the two categories covering battle axe at half my skill. If I read that right, it seems battle axe is a good choice for a lot of options with one skill. It appears dagger got it right, if you’re skilled with a parrying dagger, it makes sense that you may not be as good at striking or throwing with a dagger, so the half penalty for in category use.

    Sartar

I’ve heard that Robin Laws was commissioned to help with the Sartar book, but as far as timetables, no idea.
  4. I'm new to the games and worlds Greg created, but my only regret was not finding them sooner. He'll truly be missed.
  5. Very new to the system and I've been thinking of picking up the pair of Sartar books, but the Companion seems to be in either the pre-order PDF stage or the 'reprint some time' stage. I know these are updates to the older books, but did I miss the boat on the companion or is it on the way?
  6. So, can I get it yet? Really and truly just excited to get my hands on it. This is my first foray into Runequest and if it’s anything like the great work we’ve seen on the Call of Cthulhu line, this thing is going to be great.
  7. Somehow, I knew as soon as I asked l, it would pop up. Thanks, already in the cart
  8. Any idea when the pdf will go on sale? I’ve been eagerly checking the web store. I’ve tried throwing my money at it to no avail.
  9. I was actually prepping for a deadlands game since it's one of the only options. I wanted some investigation though. In swings Chaosium to the rescue.
  10. Name: Bill Country: United States City: San Antonio, TX Running weekly Cthulhu themed games, mostly Call of Cthulhu, on Friday nights at Court of Gamers in Hollywood Park, TX, 7pm. I'm a new CoC players, with only a handful of games completed, but greatly enjoying it. Also looking forward to Runequest's return so I can give it a go as well.
  11. Any word when us poor Yankees in the States have access to the new books?
  12. Really looking forward to this since DnD has lost some of its luster for me and I'm on the hunt for a good fantasy system. I'm already planning on running The Derelict on Free RPG Day, but I'd run RuneQuest later in the day if giving the opportunity.
  13. so...having never played Runequest, this kickstarter sounds like a perfect time to jump in the deep end. Is that right?
  14. I'm new to CoC and BRP in general. Is there a good source of online play the old pros know of? I'm in the States and watching Roll20 and reddit I don't find a lot of games that work out. Any suggestions would be handy.
  15. Saw you peeked at my feed and are from San Antonio. Would love to get a game started locally sometime. Let me know what you think.

Indeed I did drop by and look at your feed!

And, yeah, I'm definitely interested in getting a game going. As always, scheduling will be the crucial factor.... Any thoughts on that? I work long days during the week, but the occasional weekend is a possibility.

I should warn you: I'm still sort of a n00b when it comes to 7th edition. That said, I have read both the Keeper's Rulebook and the Investigators' Handbook all the way through, and i really like what I see.

Anyway, good to make your acquaintance! Let me know what you're thinking game-wise and we'll see what we can make happen.

      Take care!

I'm brand new to the system as well, just getting going. My weeks tend to be open for evening gaming, Weedays or Weekends. I have some fairly regular games going on Wednesday and Saturday.

We should definitely try to get something going. Not sure if you're interested into organize play, pre-written adventures, or homebrew.

Hey, I'm totally late to this thread, but I too am from San Antonio and interested in a CoC group. Do you guys still play? I'm just up the road from Court of Gamers!

  16. Got my pre-order copies last week and they're gorgeous. The extra packing really protected the book corners, no visible damage at all. I have to build a community down here in San Antonio, so wish me luck. If anyone has an online game with space for a newbie, I'd live to test drive it before I inflict my game on the masses.
  17. This will be my first campaign in Call of Cthulhu. I've played many RPGs before, but this Organized Play format works very well for those of us without a regular group and reduced free time. Really looking forward to playing and contributing to the playtest. Thanks!!
