  1. Polestar Mountain in the Celestial Eagle Hills just north of the snow line is well known. I'd like to think Praxian Stargazers make Expeditions there every few years. Do Praxian Stargazers have any 'understanding' with ancestor worshippers of the Starlight Ancestors amongst the Pentans? Most of the well known pole star functions are viewed through Dara Happan or Theyalan lenses (generalship, night-watchman) is there more of a counter-chaos / star captain bent to the 'things he can help with' for praxians?
  2. One of the Octamony Mostali types (lead?) can animate Jonanti from carved rock, but maybe Flintnail was hoping for improvements to the techniques by working with Pavis. I think it's unconfirmed whether Flintnail is an avatar/relative of Isidilian or not. I think the rumour that the two might be the same/connected was official, but I'm not sure
  3. Is it still the case that Mostali are not descended from Grandfather Mortal? I guess that doe not preclude them having a strong tie to the man rune (if it walks like a duck and cusses like a duck etc.). Mostali used to decry how rock had lost it's life force since time began, saying that god-time rock was more like truestone. did Flintnail already have all command of the processes to animate a faceless stone statue or did he collaborate with Man-rune specialist Lord Pavis to (re)awaken life in some stone as an experiment towards accelerating ultimate world machine repair?
  4. Maps.... https://www.youtube.com/embed/3XfN1n6nHNg Here, take my gold
  5. Dara Happan purists insist on gravy, but most people go for the curry sauce and be damned to the Carmanian cultural influences.
  6. That's why trolls are so hungry.
  7. The reference I was thinking of is the Black Eater as well. Troll Pack Uz Lore (AH p14 sidebar) - A Trollkin Philosophy We believe in the Black Eater. It is the truth of the world, and we are its victims. There is only one thing that rules us and that is the Black Eater... Don't ask the Uzko to explain the Black Eater, they know nothing of it, for the demigods and the Uzuz hid the secret. Only we know, who are cursed of all... it is, and it devours all of everything beginning with us.
  8. Didn't the Dark Eater have something to do with the Trollkin curse?
  9. I like the different colours used on different building, and its afternoon shadows are a nice thought, but in my opinion they're iffy on one-storey / two storey status. The second storey bordure notation in the original maps is no longer in the key, and this seems to have caused confusion in some areas (for example, the lunar barracks looks to me like a medium sized one storey building in a walled compound, not like a large two storey building with a third storey extension at the front, and the second story of Eskos's Stable has become a courtyard).
  10. Does anyone know of a map of the immediate vicinity of New Pavis that covers more of the area to the northwest? Ideally something about 5 times the scale of the New Pavis map, with more of the river bank contours upstream and downstream. Are there any Big Rubble maps with line contours?
  11. That's a great image, the Morocanth crafter ring all paired up babbling "left a bit, down a bit, That's it, go! Oh very nice, now, give it a quarter turn and start again,,,"
  12. An unhelpful blank from me but I'm commenting to show my interest... Unnamed street 1 - No idea (I've been calling it Horsehead Lane because it's on the far side of Sun Court from Horseleg Lane Unnamed Street 2 - No idea (I call it Foreman Court) Unnamed Street 3 - No idea but it's a good candidate for Third Street Unnamed Street 4 - No Idea (I treat it as an extension of Safe Way) Is there a name for the next street northwest (H30/H33 H35/H34)? Unnamed Street 5 - No idea (I like the name Vinegar Alley but that's just my sense of humour) Unnamed Street 6 - No idea (I call it The Cloisters which may be inaccurate because it's not closed off, Temples can house priests and guests in there) And what about the un-numbered building between the Guild Hall and Erigio's, In my references it's not part of Downtown or Public Quarter
  13. As we are about to ride into Garhound for (I think) the first time, our illustrious GM mandates I post this "Menacing appearance out of the desert" bit of film-flam.
  14. Cults of Prax and Griselda were all we had back in the day... and Pavis, and a column in a monthly magazine, and Trollpack, and... well alright there were quite a bit o' it but Cults of Prax and Griselda is all tha needst... Biturian Varosh? now he were a tight b@$£@þð - a dragonsnail's eyeball were all I got from 'im... <noises off> A DRAGONSNAIL'S EYEBALL! <More noises>
  15. I kinda did... in Yelm's Alabaster Narthex Third Vestibule Antechamber too.
  16. If Vrimak was the part of Yelm that flew upwards at the doom conjunction, could Sun Hawk be the equivalent part of Yamsur?
  17. I think any Plan which relates to Earth, Stasis, Harmony and sentient dextrous mortals can reasonably be attributed to Pavis, whether it is a complete, partial or potential pending failure. In my fevered imagination old families in Nochet use the phrase "Are you a friend of Lord Pavis?" as one of their euphemisms meaning "You are neglecting your responsibility to keep the intoxicants/narcotics circulating amongst the company" with the implication "what's up with you?"
  18. "Live fast - die young"...
  19. That could be looked at the other way around though, the less active and well resourced any long term Pavis Plan is, the less Ginkizzie and Pavis's Temple has to loose compared to the apparent gains from caving in to the Lunars. Why aren't more of Pavis's Daughters Pro Lunar? Granted a few are Sartar Exile stock, maybe the rest fret about Blue Moon Trolls in the Lunar scheme of things. They could just be waiting to see how sustained the Lunar interest in Prax is, there's no point allying with occupiers who may be about to bug out.
  20. My friends went to the Painted Wall, and all I got was a spider fetish that bites your finger off if you pick it up wrong
  21. Time to invoke the first rule of Fort Club.
  22. It is notable that Pavis did not successfully integrate a troll population into his city (due to their alliance with Paragua?) This might seem seem to make it difficult to command the whole Man Rune unless Pavis had already got what he needed from the trolls (his daughters?) before animating the Stone Statue in Shadows Dance. Then there are the merfolk too of course amongs the other man rune exemplars...
  23. On the other hand each GM has free reign to make as big a conspiracy or cock up of the Pavis temple as they please. He needed backers to contribute to his plan, his backers need their own backers etc and they all needed lodging and feeding He had done as much as he could as a semi-mortal, and would have risked more by sticking around subject of injury or aging in the mundane world than his continued guidance of the plan was worth to him. His plan may always have envisaged a longer timescale than a typical 'since time began' lifespan There absolutely does. Why has he chosen as out of the way a place as the River of Cradles to do it? Perhaps because there is a bit of a void in the Land god department around Genert's Wastes, and he can take some of degree that ground to help do whatever he planned to do. They certainly won't have been happy about either. He will have lost some juice with the fall of the EWF draconic magic schemes too. The City has not been obliterated though, and some of his backers e.g. the Dragonnewts (in their Dance) still seem to treat the site as an on-going project. It is not impossible that the action towards fulfilling his plan has largely moved from the Mundane plane to some other place. This is not to say that it will not re-emerge in Prax at some future date. Maybe, maybe not, maybe it's not going to do quite what he meant it to but it's still going to do something significant. Why do the Daughters of Pavis maintain their EWF style of dress, they must have been told it enough times that makes them look weird and old fashioned and puts off young people, what's the attraction to them in refusing to adapt it? Clearly he is alive as a god or a senior sorcerer - he dolls out a few small elementals to his priests, as well as providing his City Harmony spell. Depends on your assessment of Ginkizzie and the feasibility of the plan, or the revised fallback plan following the changes in the EWF / Nomad / Troll / Giant developments. Ginkizzie is the longest standing of the Priests, he pulls the strings in the temple and the Real City, and has his backers on the New Pavis councils. Mostly, though like a lot of family firm inheritors he may not be keeping entirely to the original vision of the founders. He will be faced with having to make unexpected compromises in some areas to prioritise others within the limits of current resources.

    The Little Suns

Wot about Yamsur then? I always hoped he was a different little sun from Yelmalio/Deumalos / Reladivus/Kargzant. and he ought to be because unlike them he's sort of eaten by chaos (but not completely or we would not remember that he had been splendid or associated with Hippogriff). I'd like to think he was closer to Derndurnus. You could also say Sedenya was a little sun for a while before Antirius fell out with her.
