  1. A question concerning the word count and handouts. If the scenario has handouts that are text (letters, telegrams, etc), should those be written out in the submission and do they count towards the word count guidelines?
  2. Name: Geoff Country: USA City: Kalamazoo area, Michigan Currently play via Google Hangouts, alternating between Call of Cthulhu and Delta Green scenarios. Looking to do some tabletop gaming when my schedule permits so.
  3. I plan on reaching out to a new shop tonight about running "The Derelict" for International Tabletop Day.
  4. 5.6.1 and up are fairly easy to convert forwards and backwards.
  5. There is a Quickstart Rules download at Chaosium's site. Has a short breakdown of the rules for 7th edition as well as a short scenario. It's free as well.
  6. The last time I ran MoN, my group wanted to bring rifles and pistols with them. I gave them the same instructions I described. They were on good terms with a Police Chief, who wrote them the letter. UK customs still denied them as when asked why they needed them, they responded "for self protection". The customs official then asked what activities that they had planned that required that sort of protection, to which they gave general visiting and such. The customs official denied them since he felt you shouldn't need guns for just visiting.
  7. I seem recall to recall reading that if a person had a letter of good reference from a law enforcement authority in the US, and the Constable (Chief Constable perhaps) in the UK found things acceptable, the person may be allowed to being a firearm into the country. The Constable could deny for most any reason they saw fit, so really there's a slim chance of legally bringing firearms into the UK.
  8. There is a Resurrection Spell, but it is more of an alchemical process than a spell, and certainly not what one would expect if used to D&D.
  9. Just started to read through it and noticed this. pg. 29 Appear Human Second paragraph, there should be a space between "appearance" and "and" in the first line.
  10. Acquired. Looking forward to reading it.
  11. This should be Chaosium's link. Nevermind, dead link
  12. I usually limit starting skills to 75%, except Own Language. As nclarke has said, firearms are not always effective against Mythos creatures. Maybe suggest to the player not to do so, or enforce a skill cap. I would not explain the firearms may not be useful, let that be determined through experience.
  13. From reports I've read and from experience in running Episode 1 myself, about 10 hours. And as others have said, it will vary depending on your group.
  14. I've used Roll20 for other games, but not Call of Cthulhu. It can do quite a bit, grids for maps, hidden/reveal areas, share images, some macros as well. It be fine for Call of Cthulhu, probably wouldn't use most of the features though really.
  15. There were a couple of monographs that were Halloween theme, but the availability of them might be a challenge if you don't already have them.
  16. Wouldn't Mi-Go be a human term for the denizens of Yuggoth? Many know that Lovecraft's possible source of the word is the Yeti legend of the Himalayan mountains. There are many other names for the Yeti, depending on the local dialect. Migu, Migoi Mi-teh Mi-reh Chu-reh Dzu-teh Meh-teh Bun Manchi Metoh-Kangmi There are a few more as well. Rather than the Mi-Go identifying itself as such, it could state something along "We've been known as Mi-reh, Dzu-teh, Metoh-Kangmi..." particularly since it was captured in the Himalayans, it would likely be familiar with the locals.
  17. I was reading through Episode 3 and seen that the Player's Handouts in Episode 2 end at #12, and in Episode 3, the handouts start at #11. I assume they are to be in numerical order as they were from Episode 1 and Episode 2.
  18. I am planning on running Episode 1 via Google Hangouts in a few weeks. Bit late into the party, but that's how things go. By that time, Episode 3 may be out; at least I'll have a good idea on how the story progresses.
  19. You should have received an email for the download link. If not, contact Dustin Wright at Chaosium.
  20. Episode 1, pg. 8. Pasquallium Ore, Crystal System. I believe it should be written as 6/m 4 3/m. Episode 1, pg. 29. Text box for Deputy Cutter's Cult Artifacts. The box has the description for the Horn of the Black Goat first, then has what appears to be the statistics for the Mi-Go Disc Books, and then the description for the Mi-Go Disc Books. Should the statistics appear after the disc book description?
  21. Hello, I am a Cult of Chaos Keeper whose been running a few Call of Cthulhu games at a FLGS with a small group. I also play in another Call of Cthulhu game via Google Hangouts.
