  1. I'm running training module 3: "Brace Yourself" this Friday, December 9th at 2300-UTC via Roll20: https://app.roll20.net/join/14247886/QZFz-w Looking for 4-5 players. Reservations preferred but drop-ins welcome (First come; first serve on the day of). Mythras veterans and neophytes welcome. This scenario provides good practice for Mythras regulars or a chance for neophytes to "kick the tires." 18+ and ability to use audio required.
  2. As described in the PDF: "This short scenario explores a remote temple to a Goddess of Meeros. Its main purpose is to introduce the [Mythras] system rules in an evocative and exciting way." This will be a 1-2 session game. Pregens will be provided. This game is ideal for players who want to try out Mythras (formerly RuneQuest 6) or Mythras fans who haven't had a chance to play through the *Sariniya's Curse* adventure. I will use both audio and video through Roll20. I will interview prospective players before the game (Discord, audio only). If interested, post in the forum, and I will send a Discord invitation. https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/13724945/sariniyas-curse
  3. That must be new. I'd consider it again, then. Roll20's larger community might still tip the scales in its favor for me, but not having to fuss with tech puts FG back in the running. Incidentally, I still recommend a healthy acquaintance with MapTools for anyone who runs VTT games with miniatures since it allows you to easily create custom maps and export them--something both FG and Roll20 discourage. You can somewhat do it in Roll20, but they make it as non-user friendly as possible.
  4. As someone who has played using Fantasy Grounds and Roll20, I'd go with Roll20. Roll20 is cheaper (unless you want to buy pre-prepared content) and more user friendly for technically challenged players (it runs in a browser), and has a more active pool of potential players to recruit from if you need more players. If I were going to work through the hassle of configuring port forwarding (which you will have to do with FG), I'd use MapTools for free, which also happens to be the only VTT that actually helps you create your own maps.
  5. Not at all surprised to hear they added a chase mini-game. Chases seem to be a problem in every system, and I'm not sure there's a satisfactory way to handle them. From the comments I've seen, the changes don't seem to my liking. I really don't like that attributes are percentile, although I can see it's not that big a deal. I might give it a try, but most likely I'll stick with 6th. The books look nice though.
  6. I've been away from gaming for a while, but I'm running a game for some friends. I see that the 7th edition of the game is now out in stores. I'm wondering, however, how far 7th edition strays from BRP, which is my preferred system. Is CoC still a BRP-based system? Or has it become something else entirely? If so, does anyone plan to continue playing 6th?
