  1. Hi Dean, First of all I would like to thank you for such a detailed and well thought out response. I dont know if I mentioned this but I am a relatively new Keeper so any ideas/thoughts to give me some inspiration is always very welcome indeed. As you suggested, currently I already have my players seeing different stages of visions due to their awakening of their peneal gland and some of them have not been fully awakened so it would be rather interesting having some of the players see the creature and some of them not seeing the creature after they blow up the hill. I like the idea of Professor Duncun seeing the players as the enemy trying to free the creature in his paranoid state, so that would work well if he actually manages to escape but to be captured and killed as the final offering to the creature. I also like the idea of the scenario not being completely a world ending situation, if the creature manages to be awakened perhaps like you said it moves off with no real reaction to any physical damage it starts gathering more strength hidden again until I decide to do a "In a different light the Return" Anyway I hope to be playing out the final part of this excellent scenario soon, once I do I will be sure to post up the notes as to how it all panned out. Once again thanks for some great input.
  2. Hi, I am hoping Dean from cthulhu reborn can answer this but I have a few questions as I am about to come to the conclusion of the "In a different light" scenario. PS this may contain spoilers...
  3. Thanks for that response I will definitely try and hunt that out, any more for any more.
  4. Hi, Does anyone know of any scenarios which are one shots, where there is a single player set within the confines of a house/mansion, which isnt the classic "The Haunting" scenario?? Just trying to get some ideas for my own scenario etc..
  5. And also if MoN is being re released using the 7E rules set in glorious full colour, please please please make the hand outs exactly that...hand outs. I have seen a lot of the new stuff claiming to be hand outs but their not hand outs as they had some key information that you didnt want to share with the players. I know it would be extra work but I would love it if there where 2 copies of a map for example. One copy with the relevant key information for the keeper and another for the players to look at. I know this would drive up the cost but that is one of the things that makes CoC so enjoyable to play.
  6. Hi All, I plan to run the the scenario "In a different light" which seems like a great scenario to run, I have read numerous forums and posts which details its virtues however I am interested to know if anyone who ran this scenario used any random encounters in the scenario apart from the obvious renders and dissolvers. Also please dont post any scenario spoilers just in case anyone on here hasn't played the scenario.
  7. I am not sure if this is mentioned in the 7e rule book or not but is there any way to relate Build to actual size in dimensions??? I know page 145 gives you build in terms of vehicle sizes eg build 32 would be the size of a cruise ship, is there anywhere else?
  8. Joerg, that was a great find. Also just like to see there has been some great discussion on this thread probably enough to do a write up and keep my scenario realistic. All i have to do is come up with the rest of the story now
  9. Thanks again Darius West for the great information, so it turns out air travel wasn't that common/safe at all in my current time period 1926/27. I know what you mean though g33k I don't want my game to be completely historically factual in every way but I just wanted to know what was feasible and not too outlandish given the time period. I might still consider air travel for a small portion of the players trip for example the players need to cross parts of brazil, which definitely would not have any sort of road system so a plane would simple be the fastest way to do this. However maybe have the players travel by train to actually get from Boston into Brazil. In the end of the day I just my game to be fun but not too bogged down in detail.
  10. Thanks Joerg and Atgxtg for the great information, my current campaign is set in 1926/27 so I guess by that time early zeppelin travel would be an option. I want my players to get to Rio de Janeiro so a zeppelin to Panama would be possible and then a combination of rail and road travel to get to Rio...its gonna be a long and dangerous trip
  11. Hi All, I have been reading around the internet about the various travel options in the 1920's and I know it was possible to cross Atlantic by boat and there where internal American flights to different states. However I cant find much information on travel between the north and south America, would this be undertaken by sea or air or land? Are there any good resources for finding this kind of information out?? Any help would be appreciated.
  12. Hi DaveG that's my thoughts exactly I wonder if Chaosium would be adverse to them or somebody else posting up versions of the maps which have been edited to remove the keys etc...??? I have already collected a number of maps etc where I have managed to edit out the key.
  13. Thanks for the response nclark and soltakss, and indeed I have been using my phone to capture the image/map and using a paint package myself to edit out the detail. I understand the point about the art costing a lot more to produce but it just slightly frustrated me when I purchased the Keeper Screen supplement with all the lovely posters and player handouts only to see that they included a lot of information that I wouldn't want a player to see. An option might be that Chaosium could potentially supply the player handouts pre edited in pdf format so we could at least just have the option to download them and print them for our self. Anyway I guess I could put the posters up on the wall but I doubt my misses would be too pleased
  14. First of all let me just say I am a starting keeper and my first time posting to this forum, so please be gentle. I am currently really enjoying the rule book and Keeper screen. The question I have is about player hand outs whilst running a game/scenario. I know player handouts aren't massively important but the supplied handouts have a lot of information which I don't want to show the players at the current time. For example the map of Bennington for the "Amidst the Ancient Trees" would be really good to show the players apart from the numbered trial points and legend. There are a whole bunch of other example I could reference where instead of having a nice hand out for the players I have either had to edit the hand out myself and reprint it to make it safe for the players. Would it not be a good idea that Chaosium could supply two versions of the hand out, one player safe and the other with the various secretes that only the keeper should know. Thanks for any response to my question.
