My first RPG was the Holmes basic set, that I "inherited" from my older brother back in 1979. I was mostly a player back then, but would occasionally DM. My first BRP game was Stormbringer which we played every once in a while, while rotating through a number of different RPGs back in the early eighties. We weren't allowed to play CoC as the "Satanic Panic" was in full force. (Good thing our parents never read any Moorcock)

After college, our old gaming group drifted apart (careers and marriages) , as the internet wasn't really a thing yet. I got out of gaming for most of the 90s and early 2000s, but started playing again around 2005.
I got serious and began running road crew games for Goodman Games a few years back. Studying up on the appendix N material got me to reread some of the same material that inspired Call of Cthulhu. I hadn't read Lovecraft in years, and I had forgotten how great his descriptions were. If you set aside his horrible racist and sexist c#$@, there is plenty of good material to mine for adventures.

Call of Cthulhu, Trail of Cthulhu, Dungeon Crawl Classics, Mutant Crawl Classics, D&D (OD&D-5e, excluding the one which shall not be named), Top Secret (all editions including NWO), Gamma World, Metamorphosis Alpha, Villains & Vigilantes (all editions), Stormbringer (1e & 2e), Paranoia, Star Frontiers, Gangbusters, MERP, Chill, T&T, Star Wars, Star Trek, Fate, and a lot of retro-clones and OSR inspired games.

I enjoy all sorts of RPGs, but Old School and independent "Story" games have the most appeal to me. I'm up for anything as long as it doesn't require a huge investment in miniatures and minute details in tactics. I don't have that much free time to waste. I have a personal preference for Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and horror. Superhero games usually don't appeal to me, unless they are low powered street heroes.

I can be found playing and running at my local conventions and at my FLGS. I run DCC RPG, MCC RPG, and (now) some Call of Cthulhu. I'll play just about anything.
Occasionally, I pull out some of the classic games from the eighties, to teach some of the younger gamers a bit of gaming history.
