Chaosium would need a snazzy line of freelance authors submitting novels (or lots of shorts), in order to offer that fiction line ... 😉
They've released 2 Lovecraftian books and announced 1 Arthurian book. Although they are nice, they are in paperback. This is what I was getting at. Would have preferred in hardcover, although I'm sure it boils down to cost and what they think people are willing to pay.

Any news about this?
Seconded.
It was nice that James Lowder provided semi regular updates through Kickstarter. The latest was that it seemed to be getting reasonably close to finished.
I was personally hoping this would launch a revitalized Chaosium fiction line of snazzy hardcover books that matched the quality of the RPG products, but it appears i was very wrong.

While I will look to get into this apparently new line of books, please may I urge Chaosium to not forget about Le Morte d’Arthur and The Arthurian Concordance. Kickstarter backers have been waiting for six years for it - beset by one tragedy after another. I would hope it to be a core reference for the new Pendragon edition.
Late backer here. I concur.

Doing POD in color for some of these titles is on our list. Unfortunately, they are not a priority, especially due to their very low sales volume.
Thank you for the info. Understandable. Count me as at least one person who will wait and buy.

If there are other KAP titles that offer printing in color, then so much for that guess.
True. Would love to hear from Chaosium on this.

They were printed at a later date?
Moreover, it won’t be a priority for Chaosium to fix, seeing as they have committed to a new edition and a line of supplements to replace previous editions’ releases.
Unless I'm misunderstanding the meaning of print on demand, POD titles were not printed at a later date.
The pdfs you get with these titles are in color. It doesn't seem like it would be an extensive thing to give the POD title an option to have it printed in color for those who want it despite a new edition coming soon. The existence of a new edition may even spur curiosity in new customers to buy the older books.

Hi all. Does anyone know why Book of Uther and Book of the Warlord are offered in color POD, but Book of the Estate, Book of Battle 2E, and Book of Sires are only available in B&W?
I know it's just red lettering in certain places, but it would be nice to be able to get them all in the best format.
-
Very nice. Will Pendragon 1E get a similar treatment?
Edit: I mean other than the 1E box set Kickstarter.
-
I've never ordered anything in premium color, but I was happy with my copy of TGPC in b&w HC.
-
You can get it print on demand at drivethrurpg but it's a bit pricey at $75.
Also, if you're looking to pick up The Great Pendragon Campaign, buy it on the mobile version of the site. For some reason the hard back version still appears for sale that way, but not on the desktop site. I can confirm I got it this way.

I would be interested.

They are also planning a Pendragon classic reprint as a Kickstarter ala the CoC KS. Presumably the 1E box set and several supplement as it was with CoC.

The original campaign started by Nocturnal Media is here. Management of the project transferred to Chaosium when Pendragon returned to the company. They were taking late pledges, but I can't find that. I'm sure it will eventually be available on the Chaosium webshop. I actually feel a huge relaunch of the fiction section is bubbling under the surface since things have been quiet with it for a long time. Maybe Le Morte will be the start of it?

Very cool. I missed these. Hoping for the originals to also be made available via pod while waiting for the new editions.

Backed for the 2" box. Can't wait for the Pendragon Classic KS!

Well the price rise certainly was dramatic. I don't know how it works, but I hope dtrpg is looking into different suppliers or something to bring the price back down again. One title I looked into (Stars Without Number) was around $100. That's just ridiculous.

Between you guys, Goodman Games, and Limited Run Games my wallet is in agony.

I'll assume that you are actually asking IF they will be rebranded. We have already said that we are working on that, but there are only so many hours in the day to do these sorts of projects.
Thank you Rick. I didn't know there were plans.
I know all of you are busy.

Can these not be rebranded and put up for POD? I would like them as well.

That is not what I read elsewhere. (The GPC will be split. But I have also read the core rules will be split. But that might be incorrect internet stuff!)
Maybe a bestiary then? I'm sure there will be the requisite slipcase set with a gm screen pack. I have no doubt whatever it is this will be the most beautiful product Chaosium has ever put out.

The next edition of Pendragon (from what I understand from comments made by Larkin and gathered by folks online) is going to be three volumes totaling 650 pages. (I might be wrong about this!)
As far as I can tell, this means folding some of the material from the Book of X books into the core game. So I assume the next round of supplements will have to be rebuilt.
(It also seems crazy and dangerously long for a game that never needed to be that long in its core rules. But that’s me.)
This is actually The Great Pendragon Campaign that will be split. As far as anyone knows, the core rules will still be one book.

Ok. Thank you for the clarification. Just wanting to know how to best spend my money. I will start picking up the POD titles then.

Those remain available as POD.

I was referring to the below post from the Status of Future Pendragon Projects thread.

This seemed to indicate that the titles on POD, or at least some of them, would get regular print runs with better quality.

Well I ordered my copy. Looking forward to the future of the line. Is there a timeline on the planned print runs of the current "Book of ___" books?
Prince Valiant: any possibility of a reprint?

I am a late backer through Nocturnal's portal and was getting notifications when James Lowder was posting new KS updates. But I'm not getting notifications anymore. Can I verify my purchase and continue to get the updates?
