  1. Ohh, thanks! Will have to use that as well. We all just roll dice wherever we are and give our result, but sometimes one of us is traveling and doesn't bring any dice....so weird. Now they can jump in with this.
  2. Well, you never talked to my husband if you thought I was nice! 😛 My thinking is that Ernalda is a wife/mother to one tribe and the trolls are not in it for the most part. Let Kygor Litor see to her own family like a good mother should. If the troll is an Ernaldan or Orlanthi, sure, but just her husband asking? Don't see it. Unless it was a one time favor for a daughter or wife. She might do it then. But, I also feel like she'd be wary of stepping on KL's toes. It's like moms in the same neighborhood. Maybe you think the lady across the street is too strict and occasionally sneak the kid a cookie on the sly, but you don't walk over there with a plate of cookies with the kids name on it. As for the name, never seen the movie. I am an old internet person and a long, long time ago I was accused in certain areas of being nothing but a minion for someone so I adopted the name. And then was promoted to 1st class. Because, weird old internet! Oh, that's kind of tame! No, she feels like trolls in general are failing their mother because they treat some of their children so poorly. Instead of honoring Trollkin as KL doing her best to keep the race going they look down on them and call them a curse. She sees no reason why all Trollkin should not be given a chance to live up to their full potential. Sometimes, that IS only food, but she's seen (in her mind) Trollkin humans be given a chance and do great things. If the humans do this, why aren't the uz? Dark trolls are already not as great as Mistress Race. Are they looking down on Trollkin because it lets them feel superior when deep down they know they are not as good? And, then there's the whole, we left the council and they made the progenitor of the curse anyway and maybe we should have eaten them all before it happened. Was leaving the best idea? Did we bring it on ourselves? Not that she wouldn't love to bash Gbaji! But, left with lesser beings to bring him about, what did we expect?
  3. I don't think, husband or not, Ernalda would want the trolls having more, healthier births. Even if Argan Argar asked, I don't see her saying yes. And Kygor Litor and Xiola Umbar haven't found a fix so I am not sure Earth is the route to it. And my Xiola Umbar Runelord has LOTS of heretical ideas about the trollkin curse, but I only shared them out of character with the DM because I want her alive.
  4. Alda will happily model when either form is in effect.
  5. Which are you referring to? The 3 runes? Because that is one of my favorite bits of the rules. So, am just curious. I find it easier to get into the character with focus on what works for me and not what does little for me. And, you can change a rune. If you want to change cults (Vingan for example and you have an earth rune and no other way to reach her) you can heroquest to change out a rune to be able to join said cult.
  6. So much trouble because humans have learned nothing from the Uz. Men are good for making babies and hunting. It's what they want to do. Let them do it. Then they do not interfere with the real women's work! Which is everything else! My dark troll is going to have words with the Ernaldan priestess married to the Anmangarn chief when she is back from becoming a rune lord. Trust a human to keep the men in line ONE TIME and they give the Lunars shit they shouldn't have. In conclusion: Phah! Humans! Uz all the way!
  7. From the classic cults book: Included in the dislikes is the Darkness god, Zorak Zoran, a bloody-handed slaughterer who glories in massacre and atrocity. The dislike is mutual, for Zorak Zoran considers Humakt to be effeminate and squeamish. The two cults do not actively war upon one another, but their members are usually found on opposite sides of a struggle. I've read conflicting on Chaos. One book did say they were not necessarily anti-chaos, but because so many were from Orlanthi traditions and they hated chaos it tended to follow over. I cannot remember other books just because the house is full of people and my brain is rapidly shutting down.
  8. Which may be an interesting discussion on its own, but has nothing to do with gameplay. Because most people aren't playing a sim, they're playing an adventuring game and no one wants to be lectured about how shame on their pc for not having kids because the pretend clan can't make it now. Possessing a vagina should not be something used to hamper gameplay for female characters. I don't care about sustainability. I care about playing the game.
  9. You are discounting a LOT of sexual activity with this. There's plenty of fun sexy times that don't involve pregnancy as a potential side effect. No need to abstain from fun times. Just keep the p out of the v.
  10. Our Ernaldan had a kid off camera before the game began. Handed off to be raised and was free when the game started. Honestly, I wouldn't leave kids to a random roll for male or female characters or those in-between or outside of those designations. Tell players it is an option. If they decide they want that option, work it out. For many reasons it can be a touchy topic, or just not one someone wants to RP. Which is why I avoid Earth cults.
  11. I am not saying Yohai would gladly bring a rune priest of Tokaz Veraz back with her when she returns to the Anmangarn...but I am not saying she WOULDN'T WANT THIS AWESOME CREATURE OF CHAOS. You know, until you had us run into some Storm Bulls later.
  12. In RQG (page 48) it says the following for sky/fire: Personality: To have a strong affinity with Fire/Sky means to be pure, chaste, idealistic, and perceptive. Which is whatever a player makes of it. My LM lay member in Balazar is annoyingly determined to understand/know the truth of things. She is interested in furthering knowledge for herself, and sharing it...if she can come off looking smarter than the person she is sharing with. Otherwise, let them learn on their own. She notices a lot of stuff and files it away for later. Her interests are squarely in the knowledge and she has little thought for bodily pleasures. Although she will complain endlessly about discomfort.
  13. Have you considered the fine location of Balazar? Sure, the beer is shit, but there's not the looming war overhead. Not to mention, dogs instead of cats. So, automatic points! Our DragonPass game starts further back in history and we have changed a few minor things. As the one running the game gets to determine such. We saved Apple Lane's thane, until the lunar witch came back for revenge. None of us wanted to hide in the pawnshop and engaged in the street. Took the gm by surprise. We were the first group of his to take that approach. We gave advance notice of Crimson Bat priests to Whitewall so they will be better prepared when it shows up down the line. You can follow the main timeline as much or little as you want and shouldn't ever feel like there's no room for change or twists. Source material is that, even layers deep, amazing source material can be converted to your needs. It may seem daunting, but play around with it before letting anyone else see if that's what you need to do.
  14. Jumping in as a pure player at this point. The point of advancement is because for players it is fun. I like hitting my banked HP level and getting to give my character new things she is good at. As a player I know things scale. It's not something I am unaware of. I expect the difficulty to be about the same throughout the game. It does not ruin the fun for most players. In that regard, it is just up to the gm to be running a fun game that makes people want to participate and try out new things. If I can use my 1w2 Death rune for everything, well, where's the fun? Maybe I should have used my campfire cook 15 instead. If I have a reason. It is, basically, up to the gm to make sure one thing doesn't work for everything. Sometimes you have to tell a player, "You know, I don't see that being an option. What else can your character do to overcome this obstacle?"
  15. Poor wording choice. It has not become a sensitive issue. It always has been. It has just finally been more publicly acknowledged that it is such and people should be more considerate of those who might have been through it without them having to broadcast such to earn sympathy and consideration.
  16. Game myth aside, telling a woman without a womb, or one barren, or one unable to function in any perceived "normal" way something like that is bound to cause some hurt. Same if you tell a man who struggles with infertility issues on his own or spouse's behalf. It's such a minefield. YGMV, but consideration at the table should always be paramount. And, someone please tell my Humakti to use her womb for anything. No, really, she'd like correcting them.
  17. Yea, but we need to pick ONE and finish it and move on. My head is spinning with all the four projects at once. That's no way to work.
  18. Today's session reinforces my uz's annoyance with Orlanthi and she is not even in this game! But the kids were swayed by the rebel's cause in Alone in 1615 and our Orlanthi rushed to protect a Vingan captive. So, now we are, temporarily at the least, on the run with rebels and not with the caravan. At least our group contest had good rolls so we made it out without any injuries. Good, since our Found Child is still down a bit from last session. And, technically, it was all my Lhankor Mhy's fault, but she will never admit that and punch anyone who tries to claim it is so. Potential combat scene that lasts just long enough for everyone to roll is SO GOOD.
  19. They were hollri, yep. Usually they are found in, and don't leave, Valind's glacier. No idea how they got there to bother us! Giant ice men looking elementals.
  20. The game before last, the kids got cocky. 13 and 14 yo sons helped take out a couple of ice demons at the top of Wyrms High Pass. We even saved the sheltered prince of Dykene who snuck into the caravan. So, they went into the fight with a giant mantis in the Vale of Flowers this weekend feeling a bit smug. Then our almost initiate of Found Child bet a few too many action points when he tried to climb its back and stab it and wound up near pinned to the ground. Without his dog Growler's help he would have been pinned. Our Orlanth Adventurous lay member had a plan and his going first meant he backed up and brought the thing into the center of the group. Some of us were not pleased. Thankfully, my Lkankor Mhy/Issaries lay member did well and since I had way more action points than I was used to, I bet big and took out an eye one round and the next I pinned enough arrows into the crook of its arm to take away some motion. And we survived, and they had fun, but they might be more cautious with those action point bids the first round next time. Especially since we were confronted by a very mad Gorakiki priestess once it was dead. At least we did not have to fight her! The kids are loving the rules so much they want to convert their 5e characters over and play them with this system.
  21. This is something very close to my Xiola Umbar's heart. And she's had much the same thought. In fact, after being sent out among humans and observing the ones she travels with closely, she now wonders what would happen if enlo were treated like other uz. DM mentioned heretical thoughts and now I want to pursue it even more. LOL But she is choosing to interpret words given her by a mistress race in her own way, as we all do, and has IDEAS now. Some of which she is going to be sharing to her mentor when she arrives back at the temple to become a rune lord. 'Ware the troll told to find new steps right before sending her out to hang out with Orlanthi and especially Ernaldans.
  22. I know your passwords, hon. If I want to know what you're doing I don't need to see it here. Also, thanks so much for saddling us with a prince. Ugh.
