    Played 2nd Ed. RQ back in high school and college (mid '80s through about mid '90s. Have played BRP CoC before. Played a lot of games - D&D basic through 5, all the other little TSR games about that time, Fantasy Trip/GURPS, Deadlands, Champions,, quite a few others. Had a brief gig at SJG but it didn't work out.

  1. 1. So are Impale and Slash now functionally the same, except for the sticking issue? I remember in oldschool RQ Impale was strictly better than slash in all ways except for the sticking problem - like, instead of roll twice, you got max weapon damage as a bonus, or something. 2. With the weapon group thing - I understand that if I have the Dagger Axe skill at 90 percent, I can attack with a Battle Axe at 45 percent, even if I've never seen one before. So if I pick up a Battle Axe and get an experience check with it, do I then a) roll to go up to 50 percent? Or b) do I still have to work my way up from base, but I just get to roll at a 45 percent until I surpass that? Thanks!
