  1. Yes, you are right, I think about it as a sequel because I played the scenarios in this order, but the KWW is completely self-standing.
  2. Hi, I just uploaded my new scenario, The King-who-Walks, on the JC, thanks to everyone who helped me along the way! I also "bundled" it with the previous products, so it can be bought for as little as $3 (if I managed correctly the "bundle" interface, which is not so easy). The next one will pit the adventurers against a locust plague threatening Pavis. A missing party of Brown Sages… A dwarf’s cap full of grave goods… A stead besieged by shrieking horrors… Delve into the forgotten lore of Raibanth’s gold tablets! Face the God of Hate! Challenge the Thunderous! Escape the Sky Tyrant! Untangle the mythic skein of a God Learner-corrupted Heroquest! And forge a new weapon to stand your ground in the impending Hero Wars! This book is the first of the Beyond the Vale series, the sequel to In a Merry Green Vale and A Vale Ablaze. The King-who-Walks offers a two-fold scenario leading the players from Dangerford to the Godtime. Although the default setting is 1613-1624, advice to adapt it to a post-Dragonrise timeframe is provided, offering the PCs the opportunity to play a key-role in Kallyr Starbrow’s victory at the Battle of Dangerford. The book is 35.000 words long and uses the WASP system for stating NPCs devised in A Vale Ablaze. The system is also given here in Appendix, together with 27 templates for common NPCs, foes, and allies alike. NOTE: Material in this book deals with mature themes. GMs are advised to adjust their presentation of this subject matter in accordance with their own and their group’s comfort levels. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/452534/The-KingwhoWalks?src=newest_community
  3. @Joerg thanks a lot! That is more or less what I envisioned, although I had missed the meditating dragonewts. there is a whole potential playground there, I will try to do something with it for the JC (I am working on a Pavis scenario)
  4. Hi, since we were speaking about Chalana Arroy, I try my luck at resurrecting my previous query which ended up swallowed up in poo and jazz. Hi, sorry, I have a Big Rubble question. Is there any description somewhere of what there is on top of the Great Wall? The walkway must be very large (ca. 6 m wide?). Is it possible to walk unimpeded from, let's say the towers in Wyvern gate to the Garden? Is there something living up there? Like flocks of gargoyles? bird-hunting Cliff toads? Dwarven sun bathers? Colonies of aldryami lichen philosophers? A secret coven of Orlanth cultist enjoying the windy highs? Any inklings?
  5. Well, at some point it will come to fruition, no deadlines in the JC! We will wait!
  6. Hi, sorry, I slightly highjack the thread to ask a Big Rubble question. Is there any description somewhere of what there is on top of the Great Wall? The walkway must be very large (ca. 6 m wide?). Is it possible to walk unimpeded from, let's say the towers in Wyvern gate to the Garden? Is there something living up there? Like flocks of gargoyle? Cliff toads hunting birds? dwarven sun bathers? colonies of elven lichen? Any inklings?
  7. Ok, now roll it, put it in the bottle to send it on the sea! Congratulations to the authors, this is a fantastic book!
  8. Tss, tss, what are we waiting to call the Spanish Inquisition?
  9. Curiosity killed the geek cat! It is a two-fold scenario: first an investigation about a missing party of Lunar, and then a Heroquest, the JC presentation will be something long these lines A missing party of Ontori priests… A dwarf’s cap full of grave goods… A stead besieged by shrieking horrors… Delve into the forgotten lore of Raibanth’s gold tablets! Face the God of Hate! Challenge the Thunderous! Untangle the mythic skein of a God Learner-corrupted Heroquest! And forge a new weapon to stand your ground in the impending Hero Wars! This book offers a two-fold scenario leading the players from Dangerford to the Godtime. Although the default setting is 1613-1624, it can be easily adapted to a post-Dragonrise timeframe, offering the PCs the opportunity to play a key-role in Kallyr Starbrow’s victory at the Battle of Dangerford. 10. Thanks, I did not know that, I discovered it in the Book of Heortling Mythology
  11. Yes, indeed, I like very much this kind of approach, I do the same with Elmal in a way.
  12. I always thought that Esrola was a sister of Ernalda, I understand that it is no longer the case?Am I right? Or did I misread the genealogy p. 13 of the Earth Goddesses? Esrola is not even mentioned in the who's who of the Earth pantheon, p. 8-11 That's a pity, I liked so much the myth of Asrelia distributing the Great, the Most and the Least [basically brutality, prosperity and sovereignty] to her daughters Maran, Esrola and Ernalda I will eat extra cornflakes at breakfast to remember the lost sister.
  13. Unfortunately for you, my new contribution is 99% ready... I hope to deal the coup de grace to your credit card.😁
  14. Great! Go for it, the ZL 3 is really fantastic!
  15. Personally, I take the god of wheels in a wider sense and give to Lokarnos and its cult all kind of wheel mechanisms, like the water/wind mills: through the wheel, Lokarnos harness the power of the other gods to the benefit of Yelm! All hail Lokarnos! Maybe the God Learners highkacked this cult's secrets to build Zistor?
  16. @mfbrandi Yes, you are right, my post is misleading; I just wanted to add explanations in English, but my main point was that I translated Godlearner in French by "Théognoste" (or Théagnoste which I will now adopt) and that it is a solution easy to apply in German, Italian, or any other language that that support the Greek roots used in the composite.
  17. Thanks! aonther ending I had not thought about! So they killed, Delecti's minion? Did they manage to get his spear? Do you intend to have Delecti try to retrieve it or to use the "Skyfall event" HQ I mentioned as a possibility? EDIT : sorry, one more question to go back to the OP: did you find the combat templates useful to track the various HP, MP, RP, of the NPC? Or is it something that could be discarded in future publications? They take quite a long time to do and the lay-out is not easy to work out (at last for me).
  18. @Soccercalle That's great, thank you for the feedback!
  19. Personally, I use a name derived from Greek, "Théognoste", it is a French version, but Theognost or Theognostic, also works in English. Like "agnostic". It is based on theos, god, and gnosis, knowledge, with the added flavour of a reference to the gnostic sect of the Late Antiquity, also a bunch of serious weirdoes. So "people seeking knowledge from/about gods". The ambiguity between "from" and "about" is well-preserved. The use of Greek roots, instead of English/German/French/whatever, also gives a "foreign" and "high culture" flavour in line with the fact that the Jrusteli were foreigners for most of people conquered by their empire. You could go also for Theagnostic, with the added "privative" prefix "a", in order to stress their atheistic approach. So yes, maybe Theagnostic, which would be easy to convert in any language (Théagnoste in French, Theagnostiker in German, I think, Teagnostico in italian, etc) to be consistent, would be the best choice in my mind.
  20. I must say my own understanding/feeling is more along the lines of Darius' (Racoon included). I envision heroquests more as "game changing endeavours" than regular rituals insuring the perpetuation of status quo/ restoration of status quo ante. I understand that the term has been used for both, but I would stress the disruptive quality of what I consider as true Heroquests; as such, Heroquests would be the actual opposite of rituals (even if entering the Godtime to Heroquest would call for rituals, that's another problem in my mind). With rituals you restore, regenerate, trim the mythic bonsai; with Heroquests, you essentially sow something new or alter something old. That would be my take, even if it is far from canon.
  21. God... this is more than I could ever dream of playing... Very impressive, Congratulations!! You did not try to adapt the Sandheart scenarios? They are amongst my all time favourite!
  22. @Soccercalle So you mixed 6SiS and the S:KoH? Quite the ordeal, the PC must be quite powerful now? And have a beautiful suite of enemies! SInce they played the Broken Towers, Derengavor Brass-Wave will be a perfect nemesis for them! @radmonger I love the "Runic DNA/Runic GPS coordinates"! And yes, I think most of the players will rather use the GL has "recycled raw runic energy". I thing it would play off as something "mephistophelian" with the GL trying to lure them to give him ever more freedom in exchange for tuition. However, the scenario proper is not dealing with this long-term aspect of things. I just want to add the option to offer the GM the opportunity to integrate this element to their campaign.
  23. Great! I would be very happy to have some feedback since this scenario, I think, is quite demanding for both players and GM. Entarios is a good patron, although she is at odds locally with Envale Blossom-Eyes; she usually meddles in Lysang business through her apprentice Eryneth Green-Womb. If you play it in fire 1621, the Hendriki slaves can play an especially important role to establish a connexion with Broyan, since this is the year Whitewall falls to the Lunars. It is also a perfect time to introduce the Ynddaiawn: they are trying to hijack the Lunar ritual intended to kill Orlanth in order to have it affect Ernalda (and suceed: that's how I explain the Great Winter, the unexpected effect of the Lunar ritual, in my Glorantha); the best place to do this would be Green Stone temple, since it is built where Ernalda fell asleep during the Great Darkness. And Entarios is the Great Priestess there. Maybe they could build on Elganesh's ritual and have the hellhounds drag Ernalda underground like they did with Yelm after his death? And your PC could use the mystical connexion between the Riddle and Green Stone to bypass their defences and free the goddess? Lots of possibilities here. Since you introduced Ernalsulva, do you intend to play the S:KoH campaign?
  24. Thanks @Joerg ! All this will be very useful, I had not thought about the parallel with a wyter HQ. In this case, the "spirit" is a godlearner so not exacly a clan ancestor, but still a useful parallel. And he is not the main goal of the quest, mainly a side encounter. The main topic of the scenario is what happens when you enter the Godtime for a HQ, well armed with "classical" lore, but stumble in a myth the Godlearners actually strove to distort. Truth be told, I am struggling less with the "concepts" and internal "gloranthan logic" than with the "technical aspect" of the matter, should the PC use something like Spirit bing and Binding Enchantment? I confess I am far from being familiar with all the spells!
