  1. Great game! Superb gloranthan flavour! Thanks for allowing us to partake!
  2. I don't think it is so hard to create an index for the LM great library. It seems clear that Joerg's parents managed to do it...
  3. Thanks Joerg! I am not absolutely clear about what you mean, could you elaborate a little? Sorry for asking, I am completely lost when anything linked to astronomy pops up in the discussion and I don't know this follower of Kallyr you allude to.
  4. There's a slight flaw in this - it would presume a teleport from the Gate of Dusk to the Gate of Dawn (like Mastakos/Uleria/Emilla), as Lightfore exists through the western gate as Yelm enters from the east, and vice versa. Otherwise, nice idea. Maybe for the more inclusive-minded sages and philosophers, this is made possible by Elmal and Kargzant alternating in the role of disk bearer? In this way no "teleport" needed? Or, in an "Orlanthi-centric" vision, this could be a nice mythical task for Mastakos: bringing back Elmal in a blink of an eye to the Gates of Dawn. Not so many myths about Mastakos, as far as I know, so could be a nice addition. And Speak and Spoke could be linked to dawn (you wake and speak) and dusk (you spoke and slept).
  5. Flowers, like woad, are probably the jewels of Ernalda and it is striking that the flower ot the plant giving the blue woad is actually yellow. Maybe the woad flowers were the jewels Ernalda had to wear as handmaiden in Yelm's palace and the fact they ultimately give woad a reflection of her real love for Orlanth, hidden under her sky court duties? In a way it would be the expression of her desire conferring power and legitimacy to whomever she loves, hence its use for magical marking. Does it make mythical sense?
  6. Do you realize that the last descendant of your clan seize power in France 50 years ago? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/René_Coty Give me the creeps!
  7. Danfive Xaron mystical name is probably DeordOrlanth...
  8. In my game, I have a Elmali NPC whose position is as follow For Hedlakar, Yelmalio is not the true essence of Elmal, quite the contrary. According to him, when Elmal realized the injustice of the Fire Tribe and decided to enter Orlanth's service, he stripped himself of his old self like a man rejects an old coat. Yelmalio is none other than this "rag" that survives from Elmal's remanent, lingering power, like an old, too worn garment keeps the smell and shape of its wearer. For Hedlakar, Yelmalio is the Blinding Sun, whose brilliance compels men to lower their gaze, hiding freedom from them, and he calls the Yelmalites "Those of the Tatters".
  9. Indeed, and always handy to have one in the vicinity in summer as living flypaper!
  10. but one could had into the rituals a constant renewing of the wooden structure as part of a religious activity/meditation, as in the case of the Ise temple in Japan. It adds a nice touch, I think
  11. @M Helsdon Thanks, yes, I know "sâr" is considered to mean king, I was not proposing to use the title in the original sense; just that the sound was similar enough to convey continuity while shaking off the medieval feeling. Duke was used in Rome and king is nearly ubiquitous, so I have less problem with it. I confess that my only trouble with Glorantha is in titles and toponomastic and I have changed nearly everything for my campaign. It is a bit silly I know but my imagination is mainly fueled by names so I have to live with that. The best inspiration I know for Glorantha is the Salammbô novel by Gustave Flaubert (whose art by Mucha seems to have served as model for Jar-Eel famous picture*), I don't know if there is a good enough translation in English to convey the splendor of the original. Compare https://www.wikiart.org/en/alphonse-mucha/salammbô-1896 and https://www.artstation.com/artwork/yb4wD8
  12. @Joerg Personally, I will go with Sâr, because the sound is very similar, and it was used as a title by early 20th cent. occultist as an "assyrian title" and both aspect occult and Assyrian sounds good to me for Gloranthan flavor.
  13. Oh my Ten Thousands Goddesses!! This is awesome!!! As an IT-impaired barbarian I kowtow to your skill!!
  14. Fascinating topic! Isn't there an episode when the bat goddess wraps her wings around Yelm to blind him, enabling his murder? This could be a good eclipse event.
  15. Excellent!! Good luck with the work! Five authors! Won't be easy! Forseeable walking dead-line, but certainly worth the wait!
  16. @Oracle Splendid! Thanks! I knew the glorantha.com page but not the rpgGeek campaign! Many thanks!
  17. Sounds like a distinct possibility would be atheist sorcerers posing as prophets amongst societies ignorant of their real philosophy.
  18. Once more I exhume a dead topic, sorry for my necromantic streak (but what is Delecti about if not picking up the best!!??), but this discussion was fascinating! It often refers to an ongoing campaign or some kind of sourcebook by @jajagappa, is it something published, that one can read on a blog, or an ongoing editorial project?
  19. @David Scott You Danfive Xaron hypothesis is superb!!
  20. Yes, you right, my shameful crypto-yelmite tendencies have been exposed!!! Ok, something along the line of Darkseed would be better then, because I am not sure there is a specific name for male insect?
  21. @PhilHibbs That is a really, really interesting line of thought!
  22. @boztakang Thank for all that! I entirely agree and that's all the challenge to make it interesting! I think Korgo will definitely be the secret cult name of the Dark Stallion!!
  23. Thanks! I will try to write it then! Let's hope I don't end up with a Trollkin of a text!
  24. I was thinking to describe a special troll cult to a "Dark stallion" or"Dark seed" hero, reputed for always fathering proper dark Trolls instead of Trollkins. Obviously the object of intense rivalry between competing Kyger Litor high priestess! Is there anything like that already in existing publications?
  25. If I remember well Delecti draws a good part of his power from reenacting the myth of Korang the Slayer. So in order to make the land of the marsh "dry" your PC could try a Heroquest linked to the Earth God Hard Earth (who died figthing Korang), whose manifestation could, well, make the land hard again, or a heroquest of Engizi to wash away Delecti's minion, like Korang was washed away by the Skyfall. Alternatively, they could also discover that the "magic rods" used by Delecti are made from slivers from the Ironspike in Tovtaros, alledgedly a fragment of Korang's Poison spear. In this case, they could fight Delecti's agents who smuggle such slivers from the Far Place. It would be a nice prelude to actually attacking the marsh. And maybe in the process, they could learn from a Engizi-themed heroquest how to "wash out" the poison from the spear/rod through the blood of the Sky Titan, a secret which could then be used in the actual attack on the marsh.
