  1. Adding my acknowledgement. The wait surely stretched a while but the JC helped ease the anguish. And the books are glorious, with breathtaking artwork. They really bring the setting to life and offer so many rich roleplaying opportunities. Great to see RQ in such capable hands.
  2. I sure hope it is, much more valuable 😃
  3. Yep. I was spamming refresh on my browser in a couple of meetings today... got off a plane from Melbourne this evening and they were available. It's a pretty special day when this much RQG content lands. Like finding a blank piece of Truestone.
  4. FWIW Aetherworks is taking orders for the hardcover in Aus, so it looks like it may well be available here now. They're the Chaosium distributor so looks like it's any day now if (like me) you want to order through Chaosium. https://store.aetherworks.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=105433
  5. Book 3, p.11 LH column, 6th para, typo: "pertrains" should be pertains
  6. I confess I was stunned to see VTT support from the get-go so I'm in the glass half-full camp at the moment. I did see a v1.1 patch roll-out on the Starter Set which suggests someone is looking at it. I'd also like to see criticals and damage rolls linked. The code behind the Squire button is bugged though and should be fixed. AFAICT, the text in red below needs to be excised from the macro script on the Squire button (using Sir Clarion as an example). &{template:rolls} {{header=^{squire} ^{squire skill}}} {{dice=[[{1d20+({@{Sir Clarion|squire_squire_skill}+(?{Mod.|0})-20,0}kh1),1d0+20}kl1 [Roll]]]}} {{threshold=[[{@{Sir Clarion|squire_squire_skill}+(?{Mod.|0}),20}kl1[Threshold]]]}} {{fumbleVal=[[20+({@{Sir Clarion|squire_squire_skill}+(?{Mod.|0}),0}kl1)]]}}
  7. I thought they were always due to be released around GenCon. Prosopaedia's release wasn't held up due to availability in Australia, so I'd guess it won't be the case for these two either.
  8. I've been curious about Esrolia for a long time but never had the time or inclination to fill in the blanks based on the references in Gloranthan lore and RQG material. Nochet squashes that problem for me. With the forthcoming release of the Earth Goddesses book, this part of Glortantha now opens up like a blooming Jang flower. My players may not know it yet but they will be going to Esrolia. I'm looking forward to recreating the fun we had as schoolboys in the long, summer holidays exploring Pavis and Thieves World.
  9. Just in time for Fathers day in Australia, thanks @MOB 😀
  10. I thought it odd that details for a greatsword are not provided in Book 2. It's easy enough to add one but it seems a strange omission.
  11. This JC contribution is magnificent. It honours the best traditions of the RQ2 Pavis boxed set and is absolutely chock-full of game-ready detail for sandbox play in Esrolia. I don't buy JC hardcopies as shipping to Australia is prohibitive but I will break the rule for this once it's available. My congratulations to the author (if he hangs out here). I'd love to see something of this depth and quality for the main cities in Sartar.
  12. @Duff - this is excellent, thank you. One of the PC's in my campaign is initiating into Storm Bull. I googled for inspiration and found your post. Rather than abstract the process down to a few dice rolls there is a great opportunity to make a story of it and weave in some of Storm Bull's mythology. I might add that having the Prosopaedia at hand has helped immeasurably as I page back and forth looking up the players in Storm Bull's mythological story.
  13. Same. I've bought the PDF though so am enjoying that while I wait for the logistical shenanigans to resolve. At first glance it's a lovely reference, like the RBoM and Bestiary and will be a great boon when I just need the key points without having to sift through numerous other sources.
  14. Book 3 Title page states copyright 2022, the other two books are copyright 2023. Year 510 adventure: There are several references to “courts” of Passions but this concept is not explained in Book 2 under Passions although its meaning can be inferred. P.16 tells the GM to “Remind the Players to review the limit of 40 points in any given court.” However, this limit is not stipulated or explained elsewhere in the Starter Set. P12 Para 6, “The Player-knights recognize him as the boy they saw earlier.” However, the Player-knights have not met Arthur at this stage. This might be a vestigial reference to a scene in the QuickStart. P23, bottom of left hand column refers to Appendix E “Mercenary & Household Knights”. This Appendix is not included with the Starter Set.
  15. Note also that the description in the body text is not strictly correct either for most of the derived characteristics. For example, Brawling damage is described as STR+SIZ divided by 6. Strictly that is calculated as STR plus (SIZ / 6). What is meant is that the sum of STR + SIZ is to be divided by 6.
  16. From the Starter Set - Rules discussion thread, cross-posted for completeness. Book 2: p.24 LH column, "Misery", 2nd para: "dispelle" should be "dispelled"? p.54/55 Table 8.1 "Combat Horses" and Table 8.4 "Horse Armor" don't reconcile with one another. Table 8.1 states that a normal charger has STR 32 and that it "May wear padding, full or half gambeson". Table 8.4 states that a half gambeson requires a horse with STR 34, two more than the STR of normal charger that is stated as being able to use it in Table 8.1. It seems likely that the STR requirement for a half gambeson would be lower than for full and that the "Horse STR needed" of 34 is a typo and should be 32 to align with table 8.1. p.59 RH column, "Unconscious", 2nd para states "See the nearby quotation from Mallory" There is no nearby quotation from Mallory, sentence can be removed (perhaps the reference is in the core book but was removed from the layout for the Starter set).
  17. Agree. I had to stare at this a few times before I “got” it. The nodes are consistent with the results of Winners, Ties etc but the axes of the matrix are not labelled that way. For example, the intersection of “Success” and “Success” is explained as a Tie. I had expected the axes to be Winner, Loser etc. I do think the matrix works though. AFAICT the nodes are consistent with the explanation in Chapter 2 and it’s why some nodes have no possible outcome e.g. the Character and the Opponent cannot both have a Partial Success.
  18. FYI @MOB, some more errata from Book 2: p.24 LH column, "Misery", 2nd para: "dispelle" should be "dispelled"? p.54/55 Table 8.1 "Combat Horses" and Table 8.4 "Horse Armor" don't reconcile with one another. My overall impressions of the Starter set from a read through of Book 2 are overwhelmingly positive. It's well written, covers what it needs to and begs to be played. I'm looking forward to getting this to the (virtual) table. The availability of the Starter Set on Roll20 already was (I confess) entirely unexpected and very welcome.
  19. Agree, the marginalia for Brawling and Weapon damage are also incorrect although they do express the body text faithfully as stated (but not as intended).
  20. Hi there, I’m very much enjoying the Starter Set, thank you to the Chaosium team. It’s a lovely product and has landed just in time for a summer holiday read 😎 Will there be a pinned thread for errata? In the meantime, there appears to be an error in the definition of Movement rate on p.14, both in the body description under the definition of the Strength characteristic and the marginalia. P.14 under the definition of Strength states: STR + DEX divided by 2, plus 5. It seems to be intended that it is the sum of these two characteristics that is divided by two, rather than just DEX. The marginalia interprets the body text literally, but substitutes SIZ for DEX i.e. ([STR+SIZ/2])+5 Should the marginalia should read ([STR+DEX]/2)+5 ? That would seem to align with the calculation of movement rates in the folios Knight STR DEX Movement [STR+DEX/2]+5 [STR+DEX]/2 +5 Clarion 14 12 18 (14+12/2)+5=25 (14+12)/2+5=18 Evrain 10 13 17 (10+13/2)+5=21.5 (10+13)/2+5=16.5 Lynelle 11 12 17 (11+12/2)+5=22 (11+12)/2+5=16.5 Avalloc 12 12 17 (12+12/2)+5=23 (12+12)/2+5=17 Tamura 14 12 18 (14+12/2)+5=25 (14+12)/2+5=18 Cadwallon 12 12 17 (12+12/2)+5=23 (12+12)/2+5=17 Cwenhild 15 10 18 (15+10/2)+5=25 (15+10)/2+5=17.5 Asterius 12 13 18 (12+13/2)+5=23.5 (12+13)/2+5=17.5
  21. Here you go. Ignore the random Roll20 character name!
  22. From the channel recommended by @David Scott above, this message and some adjacent messages have some info: https://discord.com/channels/170995199584108546/751202546512691331/1092474899844567050 I understand the alpha may have been demo'd at ChaosiumCon although I haven't seen any write-ups about it.
  23. Is there anything you can share about progress on Roll20 for RuneQuest? It is lovely to see the official Pendragon 6e character sheet is already available.
  24. Thank you Chaosium. I was delighted to find a Pendragon 6e character sheet in Roll20 today. Thrilled to find that I won't be 'making do' with workarounds to run Pendragon on VTT.
  25. I believe I read a post from @Rick Meints that Chaosium's research has led them to prefer simultaneous release. I understand that both physical and PDF will be available on 29 June - can't wait!
