  1. Thank you Chaosium. I was delighted to find a Pendragon 6e character sheet in Roll20 today. Thrilled to find that I won't be 'making do' with workarounds to run Pendragon on VTT.
  2. I believe I read a post from @Rick Meints that Chaosium's research has led them to prefer simultaneous release. I understand that both physical and PDF will be available on 29 June - can't wait!
  3. This may not be right, but if it is it sounds fabulous 🙂 Inside This Box Book I: The Adventure of the Sword in the Stone: Learn the rules for Pendragon as you play this solo adventure. Book II: The Fabeld (sic) Realm: Everything you need to know about the game’s setting and core mechanics. 4. A solid yes - have used them multiple times. That said, I'll be ordering from Chasoium directly.
  5. I always order from Chaosium direct on the assumption this maximises their margins. However, I believe they participate in the Bits and Mortar scheme so ordering from participating retailers means you still get the PDFs. That’s certainly the case with their Australian distributor who (by the way) are excellent with packaging and customer service.
  6. Chaosium's Australian distributor is now taking orders for shipping in June. https://store.aetherworks.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=104017
  7. Currently, Chaosium only supports CoC on Roll20. 🙁 That said, the CoC sheet ought to be a workable proxy.
  8. I bought it this morning... from a quick page turn, I'm impressed. The presentation and layout are exceptional - it certainly narrows the gap between JC and 'official'. I'm looking forward to giving this a thorough read.

  10. There is a thread on Grazelander-Esrolian tensions in the 'Wine and Wild Horses' scenario outline in Velhara's Mirror in the JC. This is a Beast Valley campaign, but the Grazelanders are one of the factions.
  11. They have not been published. IIRC they will be in the GM’s Guide. I’m piecing them together from; Whitebull Season Two, Episodes 9-11 on YouTube and the summary by @Lordabdul also linked above. The Well of Daliath article linked above The approach appears to be based on the Pendragon Book of Battle rules to some extent. There’s another article somewhere (perhaps on Well of Daliath) from around 2019 with the Order of Battle for Battle of the Queens that is referenced in Armies & Enemies of Dragon Pass - Dalini, 1st & 2nd Furthest Foot, Veterans and Landholder Horse. That appears to have been superseded by the OOB used in White Bull Season Two and the more recent Well of Daliath articles. I think I have enough to be able to fill in some of the blanks. It would be great to have access to the RQG battle rules themselves but there are understandably higher priorities in the pipeline such as the wonderful Cults books. Of course, if anyone in the know is willing to share some more tidbits, that would be lovely.
  12. Answering my own question... White Bull Season 2 episodes 9 and 10 are a big help as is @Lordabdul's summary here : https://godlearners.com/journal-of-runic-studies-12/#Notes_on_the_Battle_Rules_Preview Guiding Passion seems to be a proxy for morale and cohesion. The greater it is the more choices you have in the encounter you might face in each round (subject to your leaders Battle roll opposed by Intensity?). You lose guiding passion from the encounter but also gain some based on your success or duration of the encounter - the players gain 12 in Round 3 and 3 in round 4. If you retire to the rear for a round you can recover more morale and cohesion (ie Guiding Passion) based on a Battle roll - in round 2 Kulbrast makes a critical and gains 90 Guiding Passion but the gain is capped at the Passions starting level for the Battle (in this case 75). It seems like quite a neat dynamic. Looking forward to reading more in the GM guide!
  13. Hi there, I'm prepping Battle of the Queens for my players and using the various Well of Daliath articles on the subject. https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com/battle-of-the-queens/ AFAICT, a Guiding Passion is likely to be reduced to zero within the space of a typical Battle lasting 6-7 rounds. Could anyone please explain the rationale behind Guiding Passion Loss? Thanks
  14. Thanks @Scotty - much appreciated. I'm trying to piece this together - Intensity, the role of Passions in battle, Posture etc, none of which seems to appear in RQG. Is the system you're using explained in this by any chance: https://www.chaosium.com/book-of-battle-2nd-edition-pdf/ ? It make sense to me that your group's passion increased but as @Dragon notes, Well of Daliath suggests that the Passion declines each round (Guiding Passion Loss)
  15. This may be exactly what I need... it's Fire Season 1626 and my PC's are hurrying back from Beast Valley (Ruins of Bonn Kanach) to Sartar upon hearing news that the tribal leaders are raising the fyrd and calling their thanes to arms as the Lunar provincial forces move south towards the Creek. The Battle of the Queens is about to be fought and my PC's are duty-bound to be there. The detail in this Well of Daliath article doesn't seem to tie back to RQG though... is there guidance somewhere on what 'minimum guiding passion' and 'guiding passion loss' mean. I can wing this, but if there is a resource behind this that I have missed, I'd like to read it. Hoping @Scotty might know...
  16. ... and Satyrs, who may well enjoy the prospect of someone hurting themselves on the way down. Which makes me think that @hipsterinspace is probably right with this:
  17. Thank you - was doing some research on Beast Valley for the next phase of my campaign and has questions about Man Vill...
  18. I believe I read somewhere a while back that it will have an alternative char gen approach. Let's hope it has the Sartar tribes map - I'm itching to get my hands on a high fidelity version of that.
  19. I'm really looking forward to these and to the context it will provide for the following RQ books. I wonder though if we will have to wait for all ten Cults books to be released before some of the other books become available. In any case we can look forward to a steady stream of releases now.
  20. When the first volumes are released, I'd love to hear more from @Jeff about the creative process and discovery that occurred in creating this magnum opus. I can only imagine it must have been a swirl of emotions and revelations. A Heroquest even. I'm happy to hear that the content will be split into shorter, more focused volumes at a lower price-point. That seems a more commercially sensible strategy. They may be the Chaosium but I figure they do their homework. When I'm doing scenario prep I'd rather have a slimmer volume to hand. G2G is so... unwieldy. I can remember vividly standing in Games Centre on Oxford Street looking at CoP and wondering whether to buy it with my birthday money. I'm glad I did and I can't wait to have a similar experience another ten times, 40+ years later!
  21. For my group, we're toying with far fewer skills and basing skill category mods on runes, not stats. I counted about 100 skills on the character sheet that could easily be reduced to about 20-30. For example, Charm, Fast Talk, Intimidate, Orate and even Intrigue could map to "Influence". Those are Communication skills which have an affinity with the Earth rune (pp.48-49). Currently the base chance and skill category mod are separate. We're fiddling around with combining them into a single innate ability based on the elemental Rune correspondence. For example, Influence could start at (say) 5% + (Rune / 5)%. Early days but the idea is to make the Runes more important and reduce the crunch. NB in our house rules, characters are generated with more randomisation in Runes percentiles and will be non-zero in all elemental Runes. WIP...
  22. <sigh> indeed Very well aware of the excellent RQG character sheet. Without it I wouldn't be playing RQG at all. I have a hunch that online support is a consideration for some GM's in whether to buy a game or not. A VTT character sheet is pretty much part of the marketing budget, rather than line development. I hope RoL succeeds but relying on face-to-face play without enabling online seems counter-productive.
  23. Hi there, is there a Roll20 character sheet for RoL on the Chaosium to-do list? Wondering if it's in the "weeks" or "months" or "not sure" zone. I have a hunch it's possible to use the CoC Roll20 character sheet in the meantime - it has the stats we need and the skills can be edited. VTT is so important for those of us without face to face groups - having character sheet support is an important factor in which games my groups will play. I'd love to get RoL to the (virtual) table.
  24. If it helps, you get quite a lot for your money. It’s a 400 page PDF plus character sheets and handouts. It’s beautifully produced (naturally for Chaosium). For those who are working to an absolute price cap it may be a deterrent, but for those looking for value I’d argue it’s an excellent proposition. Similar PDF price point to Warhammer 4th ed, Coriolis, RQG. They have done their research.
  25. Thank you - cleared some items off my DT wishlist and onto my hard drive whilst saving a few $
