It's been some months since the terrible ordeal in Wisconsin, but then artist Julian Bernard is contacted by a young legal clerk who wants his help in finding out why children are disappearing and then reappearing some days later in Aylesbury, Massachusetts. He and several others set forth in late April, 1927, to find out what's going on. On February 27, I ran the original scenario "NIGHT WITCHES: The Sosnovka Raid" at the Appalachian State University Game Club Game Fest and LAN Party. The Call of Cthulhu scenario documented what happened to six female Soviet aviators of the 588th Night Bomber Regiment (composed entirely of women) on Dec. 5, 1942, when they bombed a German supply depot in the village of Sosnovka in the Caucasus Mountains during World War II. Something terrible was released at about the same time the bombs were dropped and the women found their planes downed in the town. Six months after the events of the Lily Mitchell kidnapping in Providence, several people get together in order to investigate an allegedly haunted hotel in northern Wisconsin in December 1926. Deadworld continues as the first night of the zombie apocalypse goes on. On January 10, 2016, we continued the BRP game. It takes place (for now) in the area of Boone, North Carolina, present day, as the characters flee the world-wide catastrophe causing people to turn into zombies. When one of their compatriots befriends a couple of new strangers, he tells them where he thinks his other companions went. They finally all meet near West Jefferson and see lights ahead. After being abandoned by their own, two of them find a woman who doesn't know what's going on. They decide to make for nearby West Jefferson, but then discover a new threat in this horrible world. I recently got to play in a D&D game (instead of running one). This 3.5 game is run by Kit Howard and uses his own campaign world. We start out as a small group trying to get citizenship in the country of Luxit Sol by joining the military. So begins our adventures. I've gotten both of these (and reviewed both actually) and they're both great.

I need to watch the BBC TV version. I loved the original movie. Nowadays moviemakers (especially Hollywood) treats the viewers like idiots and rushes everything. I prefer the slower shows (old-school Doctor Who being one) that take their time.

We finally return to Jazz Age Call of Cthulhu with a continuation of the Providence Campaign. With the beginning of the fall semester, I started the 1920s Providence, R.I. Campaign I began some time ago. It has been two months since the investigators, along with Quincy Washington, returned from Lonely Point Lighthouse. Quincy has been pressing Detective Sherman to investigate the terrors that happened to him at the Arthur Mitchell House in East Providence for some time but the man was simply too busy. Drunk Tabletop continues! On August 21, 2015, we played a another one-shot using the BRP rules. The catch - everyone got pretty drunk before the game and during character creation and remained so during the game. The game takes place present day near Boone, N.C., and is connected directly with the other drunk games (same world, same date) though this one was with three brand-new players (all women) who weren't sure what they were in for.
