  1. That rate seems extremely low.. I'd go for minimum of 1 every 2-3 years, and even that's pretty slow (but, for Mostali, might make more sense).
  2. I'd say.... the Fetch is indeed that part of the shaman that has been awakened on the spirit plane. But, like any other part of a person, it can be put out of action. Since it's intrinsic to existence (unlike your arm, leg, eyes), it can't be removed per se. But, maybe, like your eyes, it can be 'disabled'... or paralysed, like a limb. Can a god do this? Certainly! (however, there's the Compromise thing, but that's basically a different argument). If you're a believer of such things, in RL spiritual matters, yes, you can have your psi senses shut off (and people also burn out - including shamans!!)
  3. Judicious use of Repair spells gives you both.... 😄 And... sure, you could use trollkin. But I'd think the bigger and nastier ones would be better (and, given the increase in STR and CON, more effective.... and who knows, maybe even tastier!)
  4. I don't think it's that straightforward - unless ghouls aren't considered undead... Same with a revenant (aka, mummy). Both have a spirit/soul attached to the body - ghouls have "malign spirits" (Bestiary p98) and ZZ's revenants the original soul/spirit (Bestiary p. "This ritual binds the soul of a departed Zorak Zoran Death Lord back into their specially prepared body," p82 - my emphasis)
  5. I just bought both, and am going through both now (after looking for the bits I was most interested in). I really like the artwork!!!!
  6. Even when underground?? Or inside? Honestly, because it's coming from Yelmalio, and not Yelm, I can see why it's not direct sunlight. And, thus, a new spell such as Sunspot makes sense. (add to that the effects should do something to trolls- such as making them run away... again, that's Yelm in Hell - not Yelmalio on HoG)
  7. Q: Would it be worth no armour or shields? (just wondering relevant values here) What would (or wouldn't) it be worth?? (well, ok, there's lots I suspect many wouldn't blink an eye at - don't eat the flesh of birds - HA!!! No sex once per season- HA! No flail or whips - HA HA HA!!! (who even takes those??? Oh, yeah, ok... they live in slave territories!)
  8. I suppose you've covered it in the qualification, but I'd very loudly point out that it's the Mostali that really gave us Iron and it's manipulation. So, I don't think it's really that much of a 'death metal' in that way.
  9. I cannot imagine a single player taking that Gift then.... a 1pt spell for 50L - or the possibility of being hit with zero armour AND no shield! (Catseye I can see may be worth it - if the character is very anti-troll.)
  10. I figured that they could use Farsee like the spell, but they had effectively unlimited variability - just depends on how many MPs they'd throw into it each time they activated it. (and, therefore, the ability and the spell don't stack) If, however, it wasn't like that, and the ability only granted a certain X factor, then I'm not sure if I'd stack it or not... there is some sense in that it further telescopes the vision, like adding another lens... but I'm not sure if I'm convincing myself.
  11. Weapons used to have AP & HP, with the AP not changing during the life of the weapon as the HP went down. For some reason, this has changed. I suppose it makes sense - the more you bust something up, the easier it is to further bust up.
  12. Troy! Or any of those movies about the Trojan War. Check this thread: (oh, you already did...)
  13. Which is going to survive longer being hit with a sword? (and remember, (AFAIK) your 'metal' baseball bat isn't one solid lump of metal, but is hollow. Wood, OTOH, is one solid piece of wood. So, while I can appreciate the lack of goodness of the example (slightly!), at least it's still apples to apples, not apples to oranges.
  14. Robustness would, to my mind, equal HP... Size is not relevant to HP (except for a living thing, and for that, it's really the mass that can take more punishment). Compare a glass container to a similar one made of, say, wood or metal.
  15. ??? It is stated where? Which supplement? (and page?) I'm just reading the write-up in Adventurer's Book, under the Metals chapter... I don't see anything written there about that. Thus, I'd take 18HP as blocking 18HP. And, I can't see any logic for it being less.
  16. May not be 'remarkable', but dance is a skill that can be used as an augment in a lot of magical rites! And, I'd also suggest combat (Adrien Paul, who played Duncan McCleod in the Highlander series, was a trained dancer, not a martial artist... 'nuff said!) And it's not a bad social skill either (although, it would need the player to know and use this). Magical language for +20% to spell casting? But, yeah, I do think there can certainly be some tweaking of the campaign to bring in some less used skills from time to time.
  17. I think I can already do that now.... High Lama Riders get - dagger, lance (2h weapon), Dagger Axe (2h weapon), pole lasso (2H weapon). No 1H weapon worth wielding in combat, and no shields! Any solution we've come up with is going to have more tan 10% difference in something important! (should total between 20-30%) And it will be significant throughout their whole career.
  18. Well, yeah... but that also comes down to what type of game is being run. If it's not basically a dungeon crawl/murderhobo game, then hopefully all skills become useful at some stage...
  19. Sorry, I wasn't implying that she is/was a MRT... Just saying she is a troll goddess.
  20. Yeah, I think I'd prefer a table system than a basic X number of skill points, just to keep it as RQG, and not move it to some other game/edition. I might think about it... but I'm sure my Glorantha/Dragon Pass knowledge wouldn't be enough to satisfy most people...
  21. Part of your system here is why I would strongly urge PCs to have as their first Heroic Ability be a Runespell that can be taught... it encourages worship. E.g., if a Lhankor Mhy questor came back with a spell that doubles INT (same as the other spells like Charisma and Strength of Basmol) or gives 100% to any Lore or Language, then the cult would be very happy! Anything that's going to be an obvious, and on-going, benefit for the cult. Or for Orlanthi, a variant of the Arming of Orlanth, where a set of ritually prepared armaments are instantly donned/equipped on the caster - ie, shield on arm, spear or sword in hand, sandals on feet... (probably others as well - like actual armour pieces). Works no matter where the equipment actually is.
  22. It's Heroic - so obviously it should only take a few rounds to get them all back 😁
  23. @mfbrandi's post above made me think of a MUCH easier way.... not K, but XU! Xiola Umbar must have shed so many tears that there'd be a veritable ocean of them somewhere down in the underdark!
  24. Just curious, why would you want the tears from a Mistress Race troll? I would think it's almost easier to get them from a Troll goddess, if you're talking Heroquesting (as mentioned above). And, who is intended to get them?? Which would also help answer your question... if it's a true troll, getting those tears from a Troll goddess would be relatively (as far as HQs are concerned) easy. If it's not a true troll, then it's going to be a LOT harder... (did Zorak Zoran cry when he touched the fire in HoG? Did any troll cry when first feeling the sting of Iron?)
