  1. w and y are vowels in Welsh, rude, they're just to lazy to write ou out to spell the sound /u/ and y is "uh" except in the final syllable, where it's a vowel we don't have in English Did you tell them it'd still be in Welsh
  2. It's Voria as a youth, Ernalda as an adult, and Asrelia as an elder. (And maybe Ty Kora Tek when She's dead.)
  3. I'm in absolute awe, that's not dumb, that's fucking brilliant
  4. he's got three bodies, he's able to reproduce normally with Sesseine and bear a normal female child (Send Valu, consort to the Red Emperor), one of his forms is the Flat Man broo cannot bear non-broo children - they produce larvae that tear free of the body that have animal heads. broo have animal heads. broo are not flat humans. broo do not have multiple bodies.
  5. I'll tell you I can't speak for others but I've always said the Jernotians were a different breed. The lore books tell such strange stories about them and there's no apparent connexion to Nysalor or any other group. Lunars are a branch of Nysalorianism, though. They're definitely a wildly evolved group but they're fundamentally Nysalorian.
  6. You win. But shouldn't that clan name be Llynghang of Arhffritha "Callyr Starbrow" is a lot more fun of a name in Welsh
  7. (if my joke was unclear this is the sign of Muhammad, "seal of the prophets")
  8. Ralzakark has broo parts of themself. But Ralzakark is not a broo anymore than I am an arm. Baby steps.
  9. So like, he becomes the new Red Emperor, but the mask of Arkat, Argrath, then enjoys the bonus rolls to murder him The danger of getting yourself into a mythic paradigm too hard is that then Nysalor is once again defeated by Arkat. In fact, it's possible that the previous challengers to the Emperor who died, such as Kallyr Starbrow, were symbolically Arkat's earlier deaths because our New Nysalor was rising in power. It was foretold retroactively.
  10. Jakaboom was the spirit cult of Jakaleel's Before Dark tradition!
  11. the hilarious thing is that isn't the actual canon probably that he got illuminated by getting ganked and being too mean for it to stick the first time? after that first rebirth he just skipped around faiths like it didn't matter, which is... you know... not a thing
  12. As I understand it, and please correct me (Maybe I should be tagging in the Shaman Organiser @Scotty as well), there were several Jakaleel spirit cults: the Before Dark tradition and the Spirit Societies of the Lunar tradition, the Red School of Masks, the Young Elementals, and the Hell Witches. The Before Dark was the Blue Moon spirit society she came from and She did teach it to Lunars after the Goddess was ... uh, created? (Not sure what verb to use here.) Her Lunar-only transmissions of the Before Dark teachings, which were taught in parallel, are called the From Dark.
  13. isn't this just, uh, the part of bookbinding where you need the trimming plough to cut the pages apart
  14. i think there's policing in Dara Happa, and now Lunar, cities. It's city watch stuff, but they have prisons and judges. The real divide between clan and urban is the need for some kind of protection. Now these are royal commissions, temple guards, and the like, but the city and the gods have replaced the clan.
  15. Policing is usually the rise of a state guard rather than a house guard to keep order. When there is no state, there is no guard. This is why clan is so important, and why being Outcast - or cutting your kin-ties to become a Death Worshipper - is so brutally dangerous. You're open season. The modern police forces in the US arose as a combination of slave patrols and the hired enforcers of the wealthy to break the workers' unified fronts. This isn't a political statement: it's just literally history.
  16. It means something different in English than in other languages. In English it means perverse transformation sex, starting from Hokusai's classic octopus masturbation fantasy from 1814 entitled The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife. Monster sex. In Japanese, and in other languages, it actually means a wide range of perverted stuff, which can be incredibly tame (if you aren't vanilla): "girl on top" is hentai. Under Japanese law, pubic hair is hentai (and was illegal to show). It just means "perverted". This leads to a confusion when people say hentai. We're talking "demonic elephant sex" when we're joking about it here, not "a little light bondage"
  17. I took a year-long graduate student seminar at Harvard on erotic art of the Edo era, trust me, I'm more than familiar.
  18. Also this is what you get when the Lunars and the Orlanthis get together and make new music together. Especially these hats. You need to be using these hats in your campaign.
  19. eughhhhhhhhh listen we all wanna fuck the monsters. but not the walktopodes. not the walktopodes.
  20. Just remember it was painted really gaudily in real life. It wasn't tan - all we are seeing are the raw stones and dyed tiles. Residences were all like that gate, but painted. Pinks and greens, yellows and reds, marked with images of divinities and covered with rush sun-covers and brilliant textiles. Think of real-life places in the Mediterranean and reconstructions of painting schemes on actual art from this era. Below: Burano by Venice; Yazd, in the deepest deserts of Iran; a video in Second Century Jewish Babylonian Aramaic (JBA) with distinctly Babylonian art motifs (yes, there was a Jewish Palestinian Aramaic and it was a deeply distinct culture and language). Also watch the video because it's really cool.
  21. no HATS? No shoes surely but no HATS?
  22. I have fun questions, because we have discussed Ompalam being one of the faces of Pamalt (the Chaos face) Shargash as Zorak Zoran is very fun, and while it contradicts "canon", insofar as canon exists, does that make Shargash the Darkness Sun?
