Several ago I had a thread talking about my local area and how the River Don flowed to River Trent in the east. Doncaster or Danum as the 2nd Century Antonine Itinerary called it. Pendragon currently uses the post-Vermuyden course of the "Dutch River" as it also called. Danum was a port as later a the 12th Century too. The Turnbrigg Dyke course heading to the River Ayre is of Roman construction
