  1. Looking forward to this, definitely a must-buy!
  2. Got my POD in the mail today. It's ... beautiful ... *sniff* ... πŸ™ƒ
  3. Is that the version from which the hardback was printed? As I recall, the hardback had somewhat fewer typos than the softcover.
  4. Of course, it didn't take long for someone to threadcrap with "Hey, did you know HPL was racist?!" Nooooooooo, really?!?! I've never heard that before ... Ah well, there's still obviously a lot of fans over there, and some good discussion, so hopefully we'll pull a few folks over here. πŸ™‚
  5. TBP thread Lots of very positive posts about CoC7e, FYI! Hopefully the OP and anyone else interested in the latest edition will make their way over here too. πŸ™‚
  6. Quick question. Does the usual +50 to the DEX order for readied firearms apply during chases as well? I didn't see anything in the chase rules one way or the other. On the one hand, it seems like it would still apply. On the other hand, maybe it just adds some unnecessary complexity to the chase rules, so I could see rationalizing that it doesn't apply in chases, since the chase itself takes primary. Cheers!
  7. That sounds fantastic, thanks for the preview!
  8. Howdy, partners! I'm definitely interested in picking up Down Darker Trails soon, and I had an idea to run something equal parts horror and weird fantasy / American fairy tales. Having also read a number of the Land of Oz books, which can get downright creepy at times, I'm curious how much DDT might support a Western Oz mashup campaign. From the previews, I'm seeing that Kansas is in the areas covered, at least according to the map. An Oz-like area could be plopped into the middle of the west pretty easily, given the time period. Various denizens of Oz could be created pretty easily as monsters / creatures. Many of the PC-available character types (humans, tin men, pumpkinheads, etc.) could be statted out with the usual rules and a few trappings. I'm guessing most of the magical aspects of the land of Oz could be handled just fine with the usual CoC spells and devices. So, some questions for those of you who own DDT. Anything else in the book that might be especially useful? Anything else that would be desperately needed from other CoC sources to make something like this work? Any other ideas, brainstorming, spitballing? Thanks in advance!
  9. First, the correction. Sorry if there's another thread for this adventure, the keeper's screen materials, etc.; I searched and couldn't find anything. This is totally trivial, but just something that you can add to the pile next time something more important is pointed out. On page 29, the map points out stalagmites and "stalagtites" [sic]. It should be spelled "stalactites." That's it! πŸ˜† Now on to the question. My issue is always figuring out how to run adventures for one or two players (pretty much all I can come up with these days). To that end, I like to keep combat to a minimum. So for those of you who have run it, was there a lot of unavoidable combat? I think the biggest concern is location 8, the Carmody Farm. Even the notes say that combat is "highly likely" ...
  10. Very nice! Will the PDFs on DTRPG be updated, or will this be sold as a new / separate product?
  11. I believe you mean, "Trapdoorways to Terror" ...
  12. And what's all this nonsense about eyes being windows to the soul? Clearly, they are windoways to the soul! And what about Scarecrow's brain?!!!!
  13. I'm not sure an inflation calculator is the best way to go. I generally just Google "average price of X" to find current day prices of something.
  14. I had the silly idea of breaking up all the serious scenarios of the typical CoC campaign with a light-hearted one-off, something in the style of Scooby-Doo. πŸ™‚ Per the usual plot, it would turn out that the supposedly supernatural horror was really just Old Man Smith trying to buy the theme park at a discount, or whatever the heck S-D villains are up to these days. Thoughts about how to handle mechanics? Combat would likely be minimal and fairly harmless. Lots of chases, for sure. Very low-stakes Sanity rolls, never enough SAN loss to trigger insanity, maybe just a single point of loss here and there to prompt an involuntary reaction (for example, yelling "Zoinks!"). Any other pointers?
  15. Ha, I see my mistake. I did a word search on my KR PDF for "appearance" when I should have been seartching for APP (whole word only, case sensitive). Now I'm seeing some of these references ... 😚
  16. I missed the Credit Rating stuff entirely, thanks! I saw that blurb in the characteristic description, but didn't see anything after that. Thanks much!
