  3. Hey all, I am currently laying out the Chronicler's Companion. It contains all of the material that Mr. Monroe stated earlier in this thread BUT with the addition of the Horsechester material that Mr. Richard LeDuc has written. The Horsechester material consists of a sourcebook detailing the village and environs of Horsechester as well as three scenarios that take place in and around the region. Look for it in the next couple of months. I'm going to try to get it to GenCon. Nick Nacario Magic World Guy Chaosium Inc. CORRECTION: The scenario in the back of Horsechester is a three part scenario, NOT three scenarios. Sorry for the mistake.
  4. Some companies like to celebrate "Black Friday" as that big push to the holidays. Well, here at Chaosium we worship the chance to celebrate our own Big Green Guy, Great Cthulhu, so we thought we would offer a cyclopean, week-long GREEN FRIDAY SALE. Here is your chance to earn rugose savings on books and games throughout our online catalog! Please feel free to browse our eldritch offerings to find the perfect gift for that grizzled little cultist in your life! Shipping Note: We recently completed some work on our catalog website. Along with updating and extending our super-swell security certificate, we updated our US Postal Service shipping module. Our previous module experienced trouble with some overseas orders. This updated module seems spiffy. Twenty-Thirteen was quite a good year for Chaosium—we have many authors and artists working away on Horror on the Orient Express (for release soon), and we have had a number of great releases along the way. We originally wanted this sale to happen around the Day of the Dead (hence the image to the right), but it took a bit of time to get the shipping corrected. The following summarizes and briefly describes a selection of Chaosium releases during the past year. Canis Mysterium Canis Mysterium is an adventure scenario for the Call of Cthulhu™ roleplaying system designed to be played in one or more gaming sessions. This scenario is suitable as an introduction to a new campaign or can easily be worked into an established storyline. Call of Cthulhu 7th ed. Quick-Start Welcome to Chaosium’s Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition Quick-Start Rules, a booklet that collects the essential rules for Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition and presents them in abbreviated form. Atomic-Age Cthulhu Atomic-Age Cthulhu brings Lovecraftian horror roleplaying into the post-war golden age. Here you find background and history that led to the development of the 1950s world, along with new skills and professions for your investigators. A number of Sinister Seeds are included to help you grow your own ‘50s horrors, but seven complete adventures are ready for you to spring on your unsuspecting players. Mythic Iceland Mythic Iceland offers Basic Roleplaying players the experience of living and adventuring in the Iceland described in the Sagas and in Icelandic fairy-tales. In Mythic Iceland all the creatures of myth and all the magical aspects of life really do exist, and they play a major role in people’s lives. The elves, or hidden folk, exist hidden from the eyes of the common folk, and sometimes meddle in their affairs. Those traveling through the highlands risk being attacked by trolls, and often curses and spells are laid on neighbors and enemies. WINNER OF THIS YEAR'S ENNIE FOR BEST ROLEPLAYING ADVENTURE. Magic World Magic World is a self-contained fantasy roleplaying game using the classic Basic Roleplaying system. The game allows you to play characters in a world of fantasy, adventure, and excitement. The rules of Magic World are simple to grasp, while having enough options and complexity to suit any gaming style. Characters grow in experience organically, without relying on artificial constructs such as classes, levels, etc. Any sort of fantasy character you can imagine, you can play. Eldritch Chrome DURING THE DECADES since H.P. Lovecraft first wrote of the Cthulhu Mythos, many authors have crossed his themes into other genres, enhancing his original vision with stories taking place in the distant past, in the far-flung future, and in myriad places in-between. Cyberpunk tales are written in dark, gritty, film-noir styles. Their protagonists live and die at the bottom echelon of an electronic society gone awry. They may be seedier, poorer, and less inclined to make moral judgements than stoic Lovecraftian New Englanders, but in Cyberpunk-Cthulhu tales they encounter the same horrors as their more-genteel predecessors. Confronting monstrous entities and fiends from beyond space and time, the Cyberpunk-Cthulhu hero may wield high-tech weapons and have other advances at his or her disposal. To beings where time has no meaning and whose technologically is so advanced that their actions seem supernatural or powered by magic, no human finds an advantage. This is the Cyberpunk-Cthulhu world—mythos horrors lurk at the edge of society, mythos-altered technology infects human beings, dark gods lurk in cyberspace, and huge corporations rule society while bowing to entities inimical to humankind. The House of R'lyeh The House of R'lyeh contains five Call of Cthulhu scenarios that follow or expand upon events in five of H.P. Lovecraft’s stories: “Pickman’s Model”, “The Haunter of the Dark”, “The Hound”, “Arthur Jermyn”, and “The Nameless City”. Set in Boston, Providence, the British Isles, continental Europe, and the Middle East, none of the scenarios need be played at set dates or in a set order, but they could be run in the order presented to form a loose campaign using optional link between scenarios to draw investigators from one to the other. Astounding Adventures Welcome to the heart-pounding, two-fisted, action-filled world of the Pulps! Throughout Astounding Adventures you will find Basic Roleplaying rules for new character types, skills, combat, magic, mad science, and a plethora of villains, henchmen and monsters. Accompanying the text are sidebars containing special, optional rules to help jack up the pulpiness of your campaign, and rules aimed specifically towards those who enjoy using miniatures and map grids in their games. How far you want to push the envelope is up to you—and you’ll find all the tools you need within these pages. Horror Stories From The Red Room From the brilliant minds of John A. Almack, Padraic Barrett, Joseph M. Isenberg, Hugh Jesseman, Oscar Rios, Jeff Woodall, and Simon Yee come seven scenarios of horror for All-Hallow’s Eve from different times and places—from the Rhein River during the time of the Romans to the small town of Richland, Ohio. Undead & Unbound Undead & Unbound is a book of fiction celebrating those who have returned from the grave — in all their glory and in whatever form they take. You will find the famous blood-drinkers and flesh eaters here, but also ghosts, patched-together reanimates, fiends of myth and folklore, and some not-so-easily-identifiable creatures from beyond the grave. Nineteen tales take the undead to their limits. From the distant past to the far-flung future, and to all corners of the Earth, the undead are eternal and everywhere. Have a great Thanksgiving Weekend! The Folks at Chaosium
  5. @Everyone, I am working on the layout right now and I am waiting on some art before it can be finished. I don't think many people would want to buy a book with blank space. I am happy in knowing that there is still quite the demand for this book, Ben worked hard on it. Nick
  6. Mr. Barnhart, please email me at nick@chaosium.com if you didnt get your contributor's copy. Thanks. Nick
  7. Advanced Sorcery will most likely be out first. It is waiting on less art than Enlightened Magic is. Advanced Sorcery is nearly finished, its just waiting on some art. If you want an idea of what the art for Advanced Sorcery will be like, "The Green" monograph will give a bit of a hint. Scott Heiney has done a lot of the artwork.
  8. After the Vampire Wars is laid out and waiting on Enlightened Magic page references. I am also laying out Enlightened Magic for now, so they should both be released at the same time or around the same time. Nick nick@chaosium.com
  9. Unfortunately, AS will probably not be available by GenCon. I'm going to try to crank out the Chronicler's Screen by then, hopefully it all comes out. AS will hopefully be out by Christmas. 14. Thank you. I tried to make the book look similar to the Elric! books while still adding my own style. Ben really pushed me to make the book look as good as it does, though. He worked really hard on Magic World. Nick Nacario

  22. Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to direct your attention to the Chaosium website, the Mythic Iceland page in particular. Mythic Iceland Chaosium Inc. Have a great day, Old Harry the Drifter
  23. Hey All, Word from on high is that Mythic Iceland is at the printer, and will arrive at Chaosium's warehouse sometime late next week or early the following week. This means that it will be in Chaosium's 30% sale that is going on for the next couple of days. Charlie will be making a formal announcement on the website saying that Chaosium will be accepting pre-orders for Mythic Iceland during the sale. However, any order that contains Mythic Iceland (regardless of other product) will wait to be shipped until Mythic Iceland arrives at the warehouse. I would place a pre-order during the sale, 30% off is not too shabby. Old Harry the Drifter
  24. Please see the reply that I posted at the bottom. You might be pleasantly surprised about Mythic Iceland
  25. Hey All, Guess what? Word just came from on high that Mythic Iceland will be arriving from the printer late next week or early the week after. Guess what that means for all of you loyal customers? Mythic Iceland will be on pre-order soon, meaning it will be available for the 30% off sale that we are currently in. So, I would suggest going over to Chaosium.com and placing a pre-order in the next couple of days. No orders that contain Mythic Iceland will be shipped until Mythic iceland arrives in the warehouse. Charlie will be making a more formal announcement on the website soon. Thanks all, Old Harry the Drifter
