I didn't find the description of her area of influence very useful, from the River to Prax. What River? That took a bit of hunting down – it's the one heading N out of Upland Marsh. Please, scenario writers, not everyone has your knowledge of Glorantha, be explicit in such things, even, you know, put in a little map if necessary. I'll look at the maps and mark out what seems appropriate – all those vales maybe.

My Best guest, after doing a lot of searching around was that Orgorvale Summer's region/are of of influence was bordered by the three main rivers and the extent of the one mountain range. But I could be wrong about this.

Just read it. Thanks for another entry to your blog! I've found your insights (e.g., on climb checks) and reviews to be thoughtful and thorough. Looking forward to whatever else you write, whenever you're able to get proverbial pen to paper.

Thanks. I'll have another entry on this adventure in a bit once I can get all my thought in order - or as they say - all my ducks in a row.

The next post will be about the Battle of Trueford, which happens at the end of the Urvantan's Tower adventure and will be about how I ran the battle overall and will hopefully provide insight to improve other people's games. I'll be sure to throw up a post in the Forums and FB group with a link to the blog post once its complete and up.

Did you ever develop this further? I'd love to see what you did. Where were these items to be found by your adventurers? I'm considering hiding one of them in Bonn Kanach (from the JC). Maybe one in the Smoking Ruins. Maybe one in The Rubble (to get them there).

    I have not.

So far they've found Orgorvale Summer's Saddle, which I had placed in the Lost Valley/Urvantan's Tower adventure. It gives +40% to the users Ride Skill. Studying the iconography and designs, a Initiate or higher can gain+10% to their Orgorvale Summer Cult Lore.

Other than that, I haven't written anything else for the cult or artifacts yet.

  4. The Great Hunt happens over three weeks, during which there are several other related holy days  for Orlanth, Gustbran, Odayla, Yinkin, Aldrya, Eurmal, and a few others which can tie in. So in that first week, its Orlanth's Birthday - a High Holy Day and so some of that Week's hunt could go to the feast for that day.
Odayla has Bear Day - which either means they wont hunt Bear that week or will and sacrafic the first Bear captured to Odayla.
Yinkin has Lover's day, I think during this time as well, asnd as such some of the kill will be given to the Alynxes.

Not to mention that each week has their Issaries Market day, where I imagine the hunters can trade the meat and animals they have captured each week for supplies and silver. So i think there is a lot that a party can do each week.

As far as scoring I think it can go in two different ways. First it can be scored based on how much meat is brought in, maybe by weight. The other way is by how challenging the hunt was for each creature.

One of my players wanted to bring in Redeye for this... They did not succeed.

I have a working system for Foundry VTT. And working for my own system of Compendium as they cannot be provided without a license or without being sold by Chaosium

Installed the sheet yesterday. Pretty kool that you also got the New Starter Set Sheet in there as an option as well (though it looks like it still a work in progress).
With the main sheet, I noticed that that Tabs are unclickable due to an issue where several areas are overlapping. I'm curious if its just me that is having this issue though.

Page 86: should be Shields, but instead lists armor pieces a second time

Page 86 is a repeat of the chart on Page 80 but with Shields as the title head.

Pg 117, First Paragraph, last Sentence, "at the risk of risk of making powerful spiritual enemies"
Repeats the words, "Risk Of" twice.

Anything bad or moderately irritating in the past: it's Eurmal's fault. (And there was in all likelihood a Eurmali in place when the thing happened.)

    The first dusk? Guess who...

Nysalor eating and clawing himself out of the Black Eater's innards? Eurmal tricked the trolls into summoning the Black Eater, and tipped off Gbaji.

Lokamayadon's High Storm suppressing all worship of Orlanth? Eurmal showed him how.

Arkat retrieved from Hell by Harmast? There was a Eurmali in Harmast's party.

So that means that the Red Moon and Goddess are in the sky because of some Eurmal cultist.

    Please forgive this but...

Did you really mean "apart of" (separate from "... their actions are separate from that compromise") or "a part of" (a component of "... their actions are a component of that compromise")?

It makes a significant difference in how one should read that sentence.

I wrote "A Part of" so I don't really know what the confusion is.

  9. Ya... I think your mixing elements here. Dragons are also not Chaos. So learning Aulda Wyrmish isn't a chaotic act.

Also as the Source book states, "Deep in the heart of Chaos the disorder stirred, and within its stirrings was formed
a sleeping egg. The egg hatched, and out crawled the Grand Ancestor Dragon."
    -- Also --
"the Grand Ancestor took the Disorder Power that drove off the Chaos and held it at bay."

But yes, anyone can do something that puts strain on the compromise. The Lunar empire did when they rose a Goddess into the sky and placed her in the middle air. It was strained when Gbaji was born. You don't need either a Trickster or disorder to put strain on the Compromise.

Given Trickster’s role in EWF and likely other violations or near violations of the compromise I suspect any serious concentration of Trickster power is way too unstable and close to chaos to rule anything.

Look at what happened to the God Learners in Slontos, who built a great temple to Trickster. There is no rule against Tricksters attacking each other, so tricksters with access to an infinite range of divine spells would have wielded unimaginable destruction on each other, until the land itself gave way. At least that is my theory 😉

A trickster being a trickster wouldn't causes any issues for the Compromise. Disorder is the foundational Rune that the Glorantha universe is built upon. The Compromise would be maintained by anything that a trickster does by the fact that their actions are apart of that compromise.

Tricksters - Disorder is not Chaos. These are very much two different things.

One additional thought on this specific note:  Disorder can represent "misfortune" broadly or at an individual level, but also it exists and thrives because it is a path to fortune, power, pleasure, etc. for those individuals who can use and take advantage of it.  It is one of the eight Runes of Power, after all - the power is there for those who can seize it.

This is true. I see each rune as being multifaceted and having different aspects to how it functions. So as much as a Disorderly life can cause misfortune, a disordered person can find fulfillment and happiness in life just by making sure they places their own needs before everyone else's needs.

  12. A link to a blog post about this below but the first rune I plan on tackling is the Disorder Rune. Been thinking of an encounter that revolves around the Disorder rune and playing around with what aspects of disorder I want the theme of the encounter to reflect.

So question for the group; outside of misfortune what aspects of Disorder appear in Glorantha. What kind of things in the day-to-day life of a Gloranthian person would be affected by the presence of the Disorder Rune?

This is excellent and may well find its way into my Glorantha (with permission). I love the creative and well thought through use of the way spirits work in the world.

Ya, go ahead and use it that is why I shared it 😁
