The Jonstown Compendium Index 2021 is Nick Brooke's index to the RuneQuest & QuestWorlds scenarios and sourcebooks available from Chaosium's Jonstown Compendium community content web store on DriveThruRPG. The index includes full details for 2021 releases and all older Electrum & Gold best-sellers, plus summary listings for everything else in the store (for full details of all 2020 releases, see last year's Jonstown Compendium Scenarios & Sourcebooks index). Detailed listings analyse content (pages split between scenario, stats, maps, etc.), characters, settings and complexity of each scenario. Includes best-seller and ratings charts, RuneQuest Scenarios, HeroQuest Titles, Gloranthan Sourcebooks, Monsters of the Month, Virtual Tabletop Tokens, Everything Else, two Where in the World? maps showing every scenario's location, and notes on when scenarios and campaigns are set (by year and season, inc. Chaosium RQG scenarios). The index will be regularly updated throughout 2021. All updates in 2021 are free; the price of the index increases quarterly as new content grows, so don't wait too long to get on board! It's currently 49 pages for $1.50. If you bought it earlier, get the latest version of the Index from your Library on DriveThruRPG, or from the product page while you're logged in. The index comes bundled with a spreadsheet listing all the JC titles inc. price, pagecount, medals, etc. for your convenience (updated through 06-Aug-2021). NOTE: Material indexed in this book may deal with mature themes. GMs are advised to adjust their presentation of this subject matter in accordance with their own and their group’s comfort levels.

  5. I am pleased to announce Spider Woods, another RuneQuest supplement in the Jonstown Compendium Holiday Dorastor series and my third collaboration with Leon Kirshtein. Warning: Contains images of spiders, but they don't totally creep me out, so they might be OK for fellow arachnophobes. If you have any questions, you know where to find me - Cowering in the middle of an open room, armed with a flyswatter.
  6. This month's issue of Monster of the Month is now available on the Jonstown Compendium! In this month's issue of MOTM, our attention returns to the smaller scale of Glorantha. Petty spirits provide unusual explanations for in-world phenomena: Bookwyrms plunder libraries, Children of Daga cause liquids to evaporate, and Child's Fortune presents mischievous imaginary friends to children. Each of these spirits provide texture to the mythic world of Glorantha by both subverting, and supporting, our terrestrial "common sense." They're suitable for use by both gamemasters and player adventurers alike. About this Series: Monster of the Month is a series of bestiary entries for Chaosium's RuneQuest: Roleplaying in Glorantha. In addition to statblocks and behavior, most issues include supplemental detail and advice for gamemasters and/or new adventurer options for players. Bookwyrm illustration by Laura Galli

  8. I am pleased to announce a new Jonstown Compendium title from Chris Bell and Simon Phipp. How Humakt Learned to Grieve is a systemless collection of four HeroQuests: How Humakt Learned to Grieve (Humakt Viewpoint), How Humakt Learned to Grieve (Companions Viewpoint), Why Ernalda is a Killer Too and How Orlanth Became a Woman. Each HeroQuest follows the format provided in Secrets of HeroQuesting and has a section on how the Myth was turned into a HeroQuest, to help Games Masters create their own HeroQuests. The HeroQuests do not have stats for different rule sets but could be used for RuneQuest, QuestWorlds or 13th Age Glorantha. So, prepare to enter the world of Myth and Magic and take your first steps towards becoming a Hero. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/345229/How-Humakt-Learned-to-Grieve?affiliate_id=66807
  9. If you enjoyed Sartar: Kingdom of Heroes' clan questionnaire, but wanted some different options, then good news! A series of questionnaires, long in development by @Ali the Helering (with editing and layout by myself) has now arrived in the Jonstown Compendium: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/320151/Heorts-Legacy Hopefully this may be of use and/or interest to people.

  12. Another review for Secrets of Dorastor. Don't forget that it is part of the DTRPG Sale. [5 Stars] I bought this book because I had discovered the authors website for Glorantha and because I was fascinated by his view of high power, no holds barred RuneQuest, I was not dissappointed! Secrets of Dorastor is deeply bonkers and shot through with pure gold! There is just so much great stuff in here with each baddie more deranged than the last but all making complete sense within the context of the living hell that is Dorastor! If you want to challenge (or just punish ;)) your players send them into Dorastor, they won't know what hit them, honorable broo Humakiti?! 150m tall giants! Evil Demi Gods! Micro Broo! (Not the drink) The magic items are great the organisations are excellent, there are really nice scenario hooks, on average 3 or 4 PER PAGE and there is even stuff for loads of areas surrounding Dorastor! Buy it ! [WARNING CONTAINS ADULT THEMES ;)]
  13. Secrets of Dorastor is out and can be found at https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/318512/Secrets-of-Dorastor?affiliate_id=66807. A snip at $25.00 for 259 pages, it comes out as a Bargain on the Brooke Scale. There is a Table of Contents at http://www.soltakss.com/JC/StormSpearia-SecretsOfDorastor-TOC.pdf. From Nick's Scenarios: "Complexity: medium to high – a massive collection of material compiled from many years spent running RuneQuest games in Dorastor, including many self-consciously gross old-school elements – tips sadistic gamemasters can use to upset munchkin players, rules for “hyper-critical” hits, and a boyish enthusiasm for violated orifices, succubi and acid damage. The author writes with oblivious relish about this disturbing material." Secrets of Dorastor is a campaign pack set in the fabled land of Dorastor, in Greg Stafford's Glorantha. Inside you will find: A gazetteer of over one hundred places, with a map of Dorastor and nearby areas and maps of key places in Dorastor Descriptions of forty personalities, both of Dorastor and the surrounding Borderlands 25 types of Monster, of animal, vegetable and mineral types Write-ups of 9 Organizations RuneQuest write-ups of 8 Cults, including adapting the cult of Humakt to Dorastor New abilities for Illuminates and a description of Illumination and its various Schools 15 Magic Items Encounter Tables of all the important areas of Dorastor Sample Campaign and Scenario Hooks Extended RuneQuest rules for High Level Adventurers Tips for playing High Level Adventurers and NPCs Based on the write-up of our Dorastor Campaign, with a great deal of extra material, this covers the land and people of Dorastor and its Borderlands. WARNING: Dorastor is the most horrible part of Glorantha, a cursed land full of terrors. Secrets of Dorastor deals with extreme horror, with topics including violence, cannibalism, seduction, forced matings, ritual sacrifice and the liberal use of acid. Please do not purchase this if these themes might cause offense.
  14. I've finished putting together a set of reference charts for the Rune spells published in The Red Book of Magic. This play aid is free, but was kind of a pain in the neck to produce. If you find it useful, I'd appreciate if you toss something in the "tip jar," or consider picking up another product from Akhelas. Includes B&W tables of all the RBM's Rune spells organized by each Rune, and also a total alphabetical list. You can get the charts here.
  15. This is just an update for those of you who have Jonstown Compendium products up on DTRPG and particularly for POD fulfilment. I don't know if you have seen this the price change announcement? Lightning Source, the print supplier has, increased costs for POD by up to 45%. So adjust your prices accordingly.

  20. Hello everyone I'm pleased to announce the release of my latest Jonstown Compendium title: The Ruins of Bonn Kanach Set back from the road to Blackwell and perched upon a jagged bluff sits the haunted ruins of Bonn Kanach. Abandoned and empty for many centuries this once great EWF city boasted fine palaces, an arena and a great temple. Even trolls fear the city that they once commanded and dare not pass within sight of its crumbling walls. But when a grazelander merchant offers you clean silver for any trinket or bauble pulled from the rubble your suspicions are swayed by the chance of easy money. The Ruins of Bonn Kanach is presented in the style of the early ‘dungeon exploring’ scenarios and describes several distinct areas of the city with options for the Games Master to fully flesh out the details to suit their own campaign. Major personalities are described, each with its own motivations and their relationship with the city’s other inhabitants. From their base at Stone Cross adventurers can set out to explore the ruined city and return as often as they wish. Ruins of Bonn Kanach is the first instalment in a trilogy of adventures set in Beast Valley. It can be used as a stand alone resource or part of the longer campaign. Parts two and three will be released later this year. Contents Ruins of Bonn Kanach - 35 page scenario book (colour and greyscale) NPC Roster - 36 pages of characters and adversaries (colour and greyscale) 8 unlabelled maps (print and VTT) 3 handouts (print and VTT) https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/346045/Ruins-of-Bonn-Kanach Reviews and comments would be appreciated. Hope it gives you many hours of fun Michael Paul O'Sullivan

  22. April's issue of #MOTM is now available on the Jonstown Compendium! The fourth installment in MOTM's mini-series of Rune Masters is Wenkarleos, a Lunar Tarshite noble and Rune Lord of the Seven Mothers. A confidante of King Pharandros of Tarsh, Wenkarleos provides the gamemaster with opportunities supporting adventures about the Tarsh Civil War between the patriotic heroes of King Pharandros, and the traitorous sons of General Fazzur Wideread. In addition to describing Wenkarleos, this issue includes: The Philigos Medallions, made by good King Phargentes to commemorate his brother's death at the swords of Orlanthi assassins—an excellent Family Heirloom for adventurers from Lunar Tarsh! Several supporting characters, including Wenkarleos's lover Beautiful Orland, and the Pelorian sorcerer Darveya the Far-Seeing. Darveya is accompanied with notes and advice for playing a sorcerer in RuneQuest, applicable to gamemasters and players of sorcerer adventurers alike. This supplement is designed to be useful for RuneQuest players who only have the core rulebook. However, you may also need The Red Book of Magic, from Chaosium. In addition, A Rough Guide to Glamour, also available on the Jonstown Compendium, provides additional background for Lunar cultures, and is thoroughly recommended. About this Series: Monster of the Month is a series of bestiary entries for Chaosium's RuneQuest: Roleplaying in Glorantha. In addition to statblocks and behavior, most issues include supplemental detail and advice for gamemasters and/or new adventurer options for players.
  23. This month's MOTM is now available on the Jonstown Compendium! Continuing our series of Rune Masters, this month's issue of Monster of the Month presents a shaman of the Golden Bow. Vajra is a grief-stricken elder of the Pure Horse People who wanders the skies of Dragon Pass on the back of the great vrok hawk Sunfriend. He is designed to allow the gamemaster to use him as a tragic antagonist, a flawed mentor, or with a blending of themes. In addition to describing Vajra, this issue includes: A sidebar discussing Drugs in Glorantha, including optional Addiction rules, and four new intoxicants The Sun Horse's Mane, a magic item woven by worshipers of Yu-Kargzant the Sun Horse Two minor spirits associated with Light—Whisperstars and Illumes This supplement is designed to be useful for RuneQuest players who have only the core rulebook. However, some content will be enriched by Chaosium's official publications The Red Book of Magic and/or The Smoking Ruin & Other Stories. Content Warning: This product contains themes of addiction and drug abuse. Please consult with your whole group before introducing those elements into your game. About this Series: Monster of the Month is a series of bestiary entries for Chaosium's RuneQuest: Roleplaying in Glorantha. In addition to statblocks and behavior, most issues include supplemental detail and advice for gamemasters and/or new adventurer options for players.
  24. OK, I’ve just uploaded my new short RuneQuest scenario to the Jonstown Compendium: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/307504/The-Duel-at-Dangerford?affiliate_id=392988 It's called The Duel at Dangerford. The scenario itself is a couple of dozen pages long, and since only gamemasters and confirmed non-combatants are ever likely to pick it up, I thought it’d be a good place to share some colourful ideas I came up with for The Smoking Ruin and The Dragon of Thunder Hills as appendices. Rated the "Hottest Community Content" on DriveThruRPG! "This is wonderful. The absolute love for the setting hits you straight in the mouth." -- Michael Kirkbride, Concept Artist & Writer for Morrowind.
  25. TREASURES OF GLORANTHA VOLUME ONE — DRAGON PASS I'm excited to share that Treasures of Glorantha is now available Print On Demand! You don't even have to skin your own Aldryami to get a copy. If you're hungering for even more content after the recent wave of releases, I'm planning to release July's Monster of the Month tomorrow. His name's Dolorous Edd, and I love him. Treasures of Glorantha is an irregular series from Akhelas providing magic treasures, secrets, and gamemaster advice to enrich your game of RuneQuest: Roleplaying in Glorantha. This inaugural volume lays eyes on the core game region of Dragon Pass. It describes thirty magic items found throughout Dragon Pass, curated to provide exciting play opportunities for players and gamemasters alike. In addition, this supplement has three articles delving into more detail relating to Gloranthan magic items: Treasure Among the Orlanthi discusses different ways players and gamemasters might handle receiving and distributing treasure in their game through the cultural lens of the Orlanthi of Dragon Pass. True Dragon's Blood explores the powers this exotic substance possesses—and the costs of wielding it. Finally, Medicine Bundles describes a plethora of magical options for shaman and assistant shaman adventurers—especially those from the Wastelands of Prax. You can get it here: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/317421/Treasures-of-Glorantha-V1--Dragon-Pass?affiliate_id=546342 WHAT DO THE REVIEWS SAY? "Treasures of Glorantha: Volume One — Dragon Pass is a fantastic treatment of treasure in Dragon Pass, combining thoughtful and interesting essays on the subject with numerous relics to help the Game Master weave treasure into the fabric of her Glorantha campaign." — Matthew Pook, Reviews from R'lyeh "If you like to spice your game with magical artefacts, this is the book for you (PLUNDER has been around for so long and been, well, plundered of everything)." — Herve C., customer review
