  1. Please don't read on if you don't intend to run Children of Fear and Horror on the Orient Express. Seriously major spoilers follow. I've not finished reading it yet, but one question has been bugging me since the plot synopsis in the Introduction, that I've not found an answer to yet. Why? Why does the cult get the players involved? Why not do it themselves? Why get the lama involved and then wait a 1000 odd years? For the author or the people that have actually got to the end, are these questions answered later on? I remember my disappointment as a player in Horror on the Orient Express, when we discovered that the world would have been safer if we had just stayed at home and not found all the pieces for the bad guys, Children of Fear seems like it will produce the same reaction from the players.
  2. Heya folks! I just wanted to spread the word about a Horror on the Orient Express game I'm involved in, we play weekly and have been posting videos of it on Youtube and more recently in podcast format. We started in the Invictus Era where we played a prequel adventure and then moved onto the Gaslight Era where we did a second prequel (The Blood Red Fez) and are now into the main campaign in the 1920's. We've got a great group and GM, come on over and check us out! Find us here: Dungeons Deep RPG's YouTube and in podcast format: Dungeons Deep RPG's Podcast If you stop by make sure to give us a like and/or subscribe to help spread the word!
  3. We have a new Horror On The Orient Express campaign on the DungeonsDeepRPGs Podcast! We will be running the ENTIRETY of the game, and putting our own twists and such into the game. It will surely be unlike any HOTOE campaign you've seen. We are very granular and take our time to roleplay and investigate. Here's our Episode 1 Blurb and Apple Podcasts Link (it is available on all major podcast platforms): A Doctor, a Professor, an Illusionist, a Priest, and a WWI Demolitionist are brought together by a one Professor J.A. Smith to investigate some paranormal activity in Cornwall, England. 4. I'll be running the Horror on the Orient Express campaign at the Fantasy Flight Game Center in Minneapolis, MN starting in a few weeks. It's been a lot of fun so far just prepping for it. For those of you who have run it already in 7th ed., could you please share your experience and what went well and/or not so well. Thank you!
  5. Hello everyone! I've been running CoC for a long time, mostly one shots or 2-3 session scenarios. Now I'd like to step up and run my first campaing. Although I love reading scenarios and doing all the prep work, my free time is limited, so I think it could be a good idea to pick up a long campaing, prepare and run it, instead of having to think what to run next, checking scenarios that I don't like and wasting time jumping from one to another until I find one that suits my taste (and my players' taste as well). With all that said, this is my starting point: - I have 2-3 players, I don't think I can get more than that (and I don't probably want to, because it's hard already to match agendas to schedule the gaming sessions) - I'd like it more on the classic investigation style and not so pulp, but some pulp won't hurt (I guess that leaves Two Headed Serpent behind, but maybe someone can convince me of the opposite) - I'd like it long, but not so long that could get boring at some point and risk the players or my commitment to it. My options could be: Masks, Horror on the Orient Express, Shadows of Yog-Sothoth (although not very sure because it doesn't link the scenarios very well and looks old fashioned to me), A Time to Harvest, 2 Headed Serpent (I know it's for Pulp Cthulhu, but, I'm open to read your comments and maybe change my mind), anything else to consider? So, if anyone can give me some advice on how to manage a campaing for just 2 players, tips, wich one to pick, alternatives... it will be much appreciated. Many thanks!
  6. TL/DR: We are down to our last stocks of Horror on the Orient Express. We have limited copies available in our UK warehouse, and even fewer in our US warehouse. None left in Australia (cleaned out at PAX Aus). We will eventually do a new edition, but if you're after the current campaign in the box, we suggest you don't delay! 7. Someone on the Yog-Sothoth boards asked about a fillable pdf version of the Keeper Entry form, aa tool in the Horror on the Orient Express campaign (in book 2). I thought this was a good idea, so made one. Now, before I share it, here or there, I wanted to ask if Chaosium had any issues with this being shared?
  8. Like a final and unexpected postcard from the journey after you've arrived home, we've just sent all Horror on the Orient Express kickstarter backers the link to a free download of Mark Morrison's bonus 20th scenario for the campaign. This marks the official end of the Horror on the Orient Express Kickstarter. Over the last 5 years we know there should have been far more Express in getting it all delivered, and less Horror in how some things were handled. But it is now done. 9. I recently started running Achtung! Cthulhu with my group, and we are planning to run through the entire war in an epic campaign. We are currently in summer of 1939, so just a few months before the war. I had the idea of perhaps running Horror on the Orient Expres in 1939. I ran parts of it in the 90s when it came out, but my memory is hazy. Is it easy and feasible to convert to 1939? I was thinking of making some of the baddies into Nazis, as well. How many weeks would you estimate the whole campaign to take in-game time, so I know whether WWII will begin during or after the campaign. Also, for someone who has the original box set from 1991, what's new in the new one? Worth double dipping?
  10. We've just announced a new 20th scenario for Horror on the Orient Express! And, to signal the end of the Kickstarter fulfilment and as a gesture of thanks for their patience and endurance, all backers will receive a free PDF copy.
