call of cthulhu The Beast in the Cave Readthrough
Dethstrok9 posted a blog entry in Dethstrok9 YouTube Channel
I have found a Lovecraft story which could be of great inspiration to Keepers about how to make simple things scary using hierarchy of knowledge. -
As chosen by you! I added 20 cannon stories to the list, if you need more, let me know. If you can think of any other mainly Mythos horror writers whom you would vote for, let me know and I'll add them to the poll.

I first discovered Lovecraft in a card game called Cthulhu Fluxx, then I bought his collected fiction and Call of Cthulhu 7 edition (which is my favorite RPG system to date). Almost none of my friends have ever even heard of the guy, and I'm wondering, what else has he inspired? I know there's a movie called The Reanimator, and that authors like Robert E. Howard, Robert Bloch, and even Stephen King were influenced by the grandfather of cosmic horror, but what else? What is the collective influence of Howard Philips Lovecraft?

Why do I keep seeing this? People talking about a war in heaven where the good Elder Gods fought and defeated the evil elementals called the Great Old Ones, is this a cannon idea? I certainly read nothing of the kind in any of Lovecraft's work...

Hello to any and all, I'm hoping maybe some people can help me with this, please. As the title suggests, I would simply like to know what creatures and beings worship/associate/belong to which gods.I am by no means an expert, but a dear fan of Lovecraft's work and the mythos. I don't exactly have the time to read through every story, but the only correlations I can think of at the moment are Cthulhu and his Star Spawn. Anything close to relation would help as well, like Dagon/Mother Hydra/Deep Ones to Cthulhu. I believe Deep Ones might worship Cthulhu but I could be wrong.Any help is greatly appreciated!

Elsewhere, in the Doctor Who thread, I mentioned that some DW plots seemed inspired by Lovecraft. Recently, while watching Justice League episodes with my kids, I ran across two story lines that contained Lovecraftian, or Howardian, elements. In the episode "Eclipsed," the Heart of Darkness gem was created by prehistoric snakemen to punish the humans who were driving them extinct. Sounds like Robert Howard's Children of the Dark cycle. "The Terror from Beyond" was an unabashed Cthulhu reference -- the Justice League teaming up with Aquaman and Doctor Fate when the stars were right to prevent apocalypse. I remember a G.I. Joe episode in which COBRA attempted to contact an ancient entity dwelling in a well as part of one of its schemes for world domination. Any references you all have run across?
