  1. Hi, Introducing a few new players to RQ this week, here are the minis I kitbashed for the game. I use the metallic painting as it takes a minute or three vs. hours for colour.
  2. I know there are some links to some miniature sites for RQ but have become spoiled by D&D minis so wondering if anyone can recommend some good minis with a RQ look. STL files are also good. Thanks (and sorry for mentioning the other game)
  3. So, did Rapier Figures get hacked? I tried to check in at their site and both sets of my security software fired a big red High Risk alert.
  4. I'm looking to run a game set in Safelester. I'm trying to find a "look and feel" for miniatures for the westerners. I use Ancient Germans (and some Gauls) for Orlanthi, Babylonians/Assyrians for Lunars (not needed for this game), Classic Era Greeks for the Sun Dome Temple. What seems appropriate for the west? Mostly I need bandits and soldiers from the city-states, but Seshnegi warriors and wizards would be useful as well. Any suggestions?
  5. http://khurasanminiatures.tripod.com/little-carinthia.html As role players we often live in a 28mm world when it comes to miniatures. These 15mm horrors are pricey but evocative.
  6. I know a lot of folks here don’t use miniatures in their games but this project was so cool I had to share it. Although the critter is intended for D&D I can totally see it attacking Cthulhu investigators. Made of toilet paper tubes and glue.
  7. A spin off from a comment in a discussion. https://basicroleplaying.org/topic/8184-facing-and-positioning-in-rqg-combat/?tab=comments#comment-116247
  8. One of my Cultists found this listed online. I think there is a new conspiracy we know nothing of. https://www.miniaturemarket.com/cao23158.html
  9. For you Runequest heretics who still love your ducks, I stumbled across 97-cent prepainted metal figures at Walmart. It's the Disney Nano toy line. Found Gizmoduck (about 40mm) and Uncle Scrooge McDuck (33mm), a bit large but they are heroic characters. Was hoping for Darkwing Duck but you take what you can get.
  10. Reasonably dressed women with functional armour aren't too common but I think that Freyja's Wrath: Dark Age & Fantasy 28mm Shieldmaidens are setting new standards. The Defensive Villages and Slingers will definatly end up on my Hill of Lead. Even some Gavrenings lurking under the name of "Scandinavian Wild Cats". Aye, way too "viking" for many, I know, I know, but any followers of Vinga, Bevara, Babeester, Maran, etc, aren't spoilt for choice.
  11. Andrew Taylor or on G+ asked: https://plus.google.com/u/0/+AndrewTaylor1/posts/4nUFrbM7U3H I've open this thread as G+ posts become harder to find as they move down.
  12. We all know that good Call of Cthulhu character miniatures are hard to come by. Are there any good sources for cardstock character?? I have a ton of extra counter-bases from Eldritch horror and similar games that would perfect stands for stand-ups. I'm also considering using the character counters from Arkham and Eldritch games.
  13. Chaosium is pleased to welcome a new licensing partner for RuneQuest & Glorantha miniatures and scenery - Infinity Engine. Look out for their Kickstarter launching soon, featuring figures and scenery from the RuneQuest Quickstart's The Broken Tower scenario! More details at the link and here's a preview:
  14. We are pleased to announce new Glorantha minies and skirmish wargame rules are coming! http://www.chaosium.com/blog/new-partnership-for-gloranthan-miniatures-and-skirmish-wargames-rules

  16. I'm getting ready to run A Time to Harvest. I'm looking for figures that would make good 1920s students, as opposed to your typical CoC figures. Any leads? Thanks.
  17. Baron

I'm still preparing to start my new group of players on 1920s Call of Cthulhu. I'm acquiring figures, mostly 25mm but of necessity getting a few in 28mm. <Damn figure creep and marketing guys> I don't care so much about having the exact monsters from Cthulhu, I can use anything. And my PCs and NPCs will look archaic enough to my young players that I don't need to be a stickler for getting the costumes exactly right. But, what else to dress the table with? Buildings are just too much, but think what I could do with cars! Car chases, dodging monsters, ambushes and roadblocks, hard cover in a gun fight, the list goes on. So I went to the local, established and gritty model shop in town. Where they make models, dammit! And the guy shook his head radiating disapproval, because I'd made a fundamental error. Cars in the scale I'm looking for "just weren't made." Nothing even close. What do you all use? Or am I the only one who wants to line up the adventurers on one side of a car, and have the monsters come slithering and hopping out of the brush on the other side of the road? I really don't want to take the time to actually build my own models, although I could if I get desperate enough. Save me from hot glue, you're my only hope!
