This thread is for collection of errata in the RuneQuest Quickstart Rules and Adventure booklet; my hope is that some of these can be corrected or clarified for the 1 July 2017 PDF and print-on-demand releases. p. 7, Strike Rank Modifiers table and Magical Attacks and Strike Rank section: These sections both say that the first Magic Point in a spirit-magic spell does not add to the strike rank of the casting, conflicting with the Spell Strike Rank section on p. 20. p. 18, Spirit Magic section: Says that spirit magic spells usually have duration of two minutes, conflicting with Durati

This is an updated version of the Player Character booklets I made for the Runequest Gloranatha: Quickstart Rules and Adventure. The Rune Magic spells have been adjusted to reflect the spell lists of the characters as presented in the RQG core rules. Also, I adjusted the spell description terminology ("stackable" and so on) to match the terms uses in the core book. -
In celebration of Runequest Gloranatha: Quickstart Rules and Adventure coming home with ENnie Gold (and because I'll be running the Quickstart at a local convention at the end of the month) I decided to take the Pregenerated Player Characters and build little booklets for each PC. I just uploaded them over in the files section under the "Fantasy Other" Category. (There doesn't seem to be a RuneQuest Glorantha category yet.) Each booklet contains the relevant Rune Descriptions, Rune Spells, Spirit Magic Spells, and short descriptions of the respective PC's cult, as well as all the other in

For those who've played the quickstart, how do you find the ratio of weapon damage to typical HP? I'm hoping to run it this weekend, and looking through the sample characters, I have a couple of concerns. On average, it seems that any successful hit from any weapon is either going to bring down a character or end their ability to fight -- without consideration of special or critical results. I know that Runequest is supposed to be a dangerous system, but that seems a little excessive, and not particularly heroic. Obviously armor and healing, as well as offensive and defensive magic, all h

Was trying to talk someone through getting the quickstart pdf - didn't realize it was so hard to find! https://www.chaosium.com/runequest-glorantha/ ...shows ONLY that the quickstart is available to buy for $9.95. Only if you click on the book itself are you taken to https://www.chaosium.com/runequest-roleplaying-in-glorantha-quickstart/ where it says "oh, yeah, I guess you CAN download it for free, of course..."?

It seems to me that the quick start rules (Pulp Cthulhu p.41) result in a much more skilled character than the regular rules. The skill points for Archetype and personal skills seem to be same so I'll ignore them and concentrate on occupational skills. The quick start rules allow the following skills 80, 2X70, 2X60, 3X50, 40 and ignore Base values. This gives a total of 530 skill points. The normal rules are more variable so I'll assume an average value and that skill points are based on 2X(Core + Edu). Average core stat = (3.5+13)X5 = 82.5 Average Edu = (2X3

So when an encounter of trollkin, which are all identical as the GM is busy and doesn't have time for details, all attack the same person (well 4-5 of them), all at the same SR, the first guy sucks up your parry and the rest hack into you? Doesn't that imply that SR are a static measure of exact time? The 20% penalty is bad enough, and pretty much takes care of this for you. Sometimes you can't avoid these sort of situations, and being taken down by a swarm is realistic I suppose. :). However, it is another piece of book-keeping you have to deal with.

Just for opinions sake: does roll weapon damage twice for a special success include your damage bonus twice or not. And does it include any +1 (Broadsword) doubled or not? And, an Attacking weapon cannot take damage from a Parry anymore (for now anyway with the QS rules).

Had a game last night where I noticed something I had never noticed before, which is that if your total HPs drops to 0 you die at the end of the round unless healed, same in the QS. The problem is with how on earth you would get healed by the end of the round if you use statements of intent? You would need to be sitting behind the lines with a statement of "I heal anyone who gets hurt". With statements of intent + die in the same round at the end of the turn it is not possible to save anyone? So either you say 'you die if you go to 0 hps' or you delay death one round to allow charac
